GreatNotion looks like it would be a lot of fun, if all of the fun stuff actually worked. Every time I try to do something on GreatNotion I get a “hold your horses cowboy, that hasn’t dropped yet”, or something like that.
And (for now perhaps), it is really a locals only app. I live 2400 miles away, so unless I’m visiting Portland, or someplace in Oregon that sells their canned beer, I can’t really unlock characters or climb the ranks.
The artwork is very cool. And the Character bios are fun to look at. Wish I could do more with GreatNotion.

GreatNotion is an extravagant insult to customers. I just wanted to buy some beer. But they don’t publish so much as a listing on their website, and instead bury their business under this ridiculous, gamified software that has you collecting “drops” to “level up your character” and “unlock badges”. I feel like a circus animal performing for a treat.

Update: GreatNotion is now literally unusable. “In order to proceed to the Great Notion app you must allow access to your device’s GPS”

It really puts a damper on the excitement of ordering excellent beer. GreatNotion has cute animations and is attractively-designed, but it’s inconvenient to be the only way. Notifications are nice, but switching back and forth between apps to look up info on the beers available is annoying. I’d much rather (also) be able to order on a computer where I can have multiple windows/tabs open.

Not only does Great Notion come through with Great Beer, they touch all the bases when it comes to creativity and top notch engagement. GreatNotion is just that! I love how we can customize with characters and work to unlock the awesome art all along the way-all while tasting delicious beers.

I love their beer, but their app is like a maze. Good luck trying to find things twice. I swear they move. Plus, it doesn’t work right. I placed an item in my cart. Kept shopping, found another item, added it, told it was sold out, then couldn’t find my other item. Very frustrating! Need a beer just from the stress caused by trying to use GreatNotion to find and order beer. And good luck finding where the message center is!

Very interesting concept. Warning, during a drop you are likely to have server issues and won’t work again until the item is sold out.... hoping they actually carry more than pre-orders?

Well they have! GreatNotion isn’t just a bland ordering menu, but gave us somethin fun to do while we wait for a beer delivery! GreatNotion is Funky amazing!

Do you want to know what beer a brewery sells? Well good luck. This bad boy combines the overdesign of the Apple store, the customer service of Comcast and lizard cartoons.

Why? I have no idea. I just want to give them money for beer.

Kudos to the sales person that convinced them they needed to make it impossible to sell beer and instead they want an “experience”.

Really innovative app that is still in its preliminary stages and working out the kinks but makes it super convenient for locals to grab beer without waiting line.

The customer service is phenomenal with this company. However, I am unable to scroll down my cans list without GreatNotion glitching and closing out. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Haven’t been able to order thru GreatNotion because my profile address defaults to Oregon even though I enter my state of Washington. Oh well, at least I can see what beer is available before I drive to Ballard or Georgetown to buy it. Great beer, mediocre app.

App can't remember login info. Have to login all the time. I'd tolerate GreatNotion if they fixed that.

Beyond that: GreatNotion offers nothing that shouldn't be on their website, but their website offers nothing. No login should be needed just to see what's available.

Excited that you are now shipping to WA, but my address defaults to OR, even though I enter WA for the state. Also try to order beers that are live, add to cart and then it says sold out.

Frustrating buying experience!

The latest version crashes for me on the main landing page before I can do much.

Great app, love the selection and layout. But will you guys ever add delivery in Beaverton zip codes? Thanks!

Why do I need to download an app for basic info?

I just wanted to buy beer but they make it SO hard and so much social engineering.

Cool idea but keeps crashing...not worth the frustration!
