This has to rank as the worst IOS app ever created. I have found even more fatal bugs than since my last posting. Despite Kestrel’s response that they are constantly updating KestrelLiNK , it hasn’t happened. DON’T WATE YOUR MONEY ON THEIR PRODUCTS. Each successive generation skids downhill further.
I am stunned at how poorly KestrelLiNK functions. Using a Drop device is almost useless. Clunky, won’t link/pair, temperamental when it does link with a drop. Some functions won’t work and it freezes KestrelLiNK or closes KestrelLiNK . This is unacceptable!! What a waste don’t buy any Kestrel device that need KestrelLiNK. The drops are pretty much worthless unless they fix this apps. C’mon Kestrel!!!
Clunky and not intuitive. The “legacy” version is much better, particularly for tracking changes in temperature over time.
just got my Kestrel D3 (the one that gives WBGT reading) and downloaded KestrelLiNK . App seems to work perfectly fine. Connects quickly from a fair distance, gives me all the data… easy peasy. Really like these devices. Pretty amazing tech. I got it to monitor conditions where I live after giving myself a case of heat exhaustion working in my yard in the evening when it was 95F with 80% humidity. This device lets me know when it’s a good idea to skip the yard work.
