Honestly, I always thought KAWS was one of the more popular artists that everyone loved therefore making him wealthy. After downloading AcuteArt, I realize he must have hit a bad spot in his career. This is the worst service I’ve ever witnessed and I, personally, consider it a scam. You download AcuteArt thinking it’s something like a Snapchat or Instagram filter but ohhhh no. This is XR. You have to PAY for this experience. Even though it’s the exact same (arguably worse) as a Snap/Insta filter, you have to pay $7 TO TAKE PICTURES WITH A DIGITAL PICTURE OF HIS FIGURE FOR ONLY 7 DAYS. Completely ridiculous. Never seen a worse money-grab in my life. KAWS: you should be ashamed of yourself you money-hungry sellout.
An app for people that like wasting money

Seems like a cool app for a couple minutes of fun, but I have absolutely no interest in participating because it requires you to spend 6 or 7 dollars to merely RENT the ability to see the AR sculpture. People will pay this stupid price just to take a few photos or videos to post on social media and then be done with it. Nothing more than a costly quick fix that likely leaves you empty inside after coming to the realization that you paid 6 dollars to look at something on your phone. It’s a ripoff and comes off as a cash grab on a scummy level. To KAWS and developers: Either charge a price for full app access, or you charge 6 dollars and then the sculpture is yours to look at as much as you want, which let’s be honest, is not going to be all that much. What a waste.
Must be a joke.

Still waiting for the email with my password. Deleted AcuteArt immediately. If you’re going to charge for the art at least make it easy to start using AcuteArt right away. Glad I didn’t get to spend money on it, at least.
Can’t get it to work :( I’m pretty amazing with tech and this is not user friendly...love KAWS but whoever developed this did a horrible job
Doesn’t work and bad UX

AcuteArt is supposed to use gesture control and more visual cue to help AcuteArt become more discoverable. Current experience is disorganized and not user friendly. Deleting AcuteArt
Error keeps popping up.

AcuteArt just says “point to the floor”. After I do that nothing happens...
Where?

Tap to place doesn’t work. Art appears in completely different palaces and out of frame. Doesn’t work.
Having fun since day one

I have really enjoyed playing with AcuteArt A lot of fun in the time of quarantine USA Was wondering what it takes to get your pictures on The Gallery page. ? And I have done the hashtags. Thanks Curious
The artwork does not appear in the space I select. You need to point your phone at the floor for the free version. Select artwork and then tap to place the artwork. At this point you can move around the artwork. I laid down on the floor and shot up at the object and it worked. Also added cost for each piece of art work. It’s a cool idea. Can I sell prints of what I create?
Kaws plz see this

I only wish there were more artworks to view virtually in my home. I only found two (the KORS figure and the small puffin). I paid $1.99 for one of the Olaffsen works but it never showed up. Please contact or commission more artists.
Love AcuteArt ! Great to have companion when I’m social distancing ! Well done and beautiful!
This had so much potential.

I was willing to pay $7 because this is one of my favorite artists. But when I found out it was to rent a virtual sculpture for a few days and the height of it was to just take pictures I realized this wasn’t worth it for me. Could have been better to actually collect these virtual sculptures and keep them because that’s what an actual collection is. If you’re looking to improve I suggest you:
Allow sculptures to be kept once purchased
Allow trades among collectors

This could’ve had the potential to be something big and innovative for kaws but instead it was a cash grab. Not only do you have to pay to see the virtual sculptures but it’s also temporary after purchasing them. What a waste of a good idea, disappointed and will definitely delete.
Very misleading - waste of a download

$7 to “rent” the ability to view the sculptures for just 7 days. Not even unlimited. You have to repay after 1 week. There are 4 figure options, you have to pay $7 for each of them; $28 for a week to take photos with 4 figures. I absolutely love Kaws, but am extremely disappointed, don’t waste your time downloading this click bait - it’s absurdly priced.
Disappointed

Very cool idea but $6-7 for virtual art? It’s way overpriced. It would’ve been better to pay $1.99 for AcuteArt , time based releases for art pieces then people can share their photos. You actually create a community that way. All I would see now is pics of people shelling out money. Deleted AcuteArt shortly after seeing its shortcomings. But there is room for this type of app just not at the prices of the AR art pieces.
I got AcuteArt hoping to take pictures around the city with the kaws sculpture “floating” in the sky like advertised on Instagram . Unfortunately : 1. That piece is not even an option to buy 2. The ones you can buy don’t allow you to manipulate the size to make it larger than everything around it 3. The purchase only lasts for 7 days.... I expected much much more for a 7$ purchase . Total ripoff
It simply doesn't work

I have an iPhone 11 Pro with top of the line augmented reality capabilities and AcuteArt doesn't work. It doesn't work for location drops (I tried Times Square & Washington Square Park for 10-15 minutes each) and the purchased Artwork is buggy at best and completely non-functioning at other times. And when it does work it's far tinier than 45cm. Complete and utter disappointment.
Meh. I get it but nah.

I like the idea but it feels a bit like a money grab. So basically I pay $7 for a virtual art toy that I can see through my phone for 7 days. I get that it’s like I virtual own it and that’s fun but the price is too high for a temporary AR object.
The global exhibitions are a cool idea but only in a few cities. I’m on the west coast of the US and was hoping there would be one in LA, SF or Seattle. Nope.
I enjoy the thinking and see a future for it. Imagine a marketplace where I can AR my life with artist work. Maybe a pay app with Juxapoz or something. But not at the $ levels Kaws is working with here. Doesn’t even include like a 2-day free piece to get used to the idea. Deleted AcuteArt after about 5 mins.
Was excited

Definitely willing to pay the $7 because this is my favorite artist of all time but the fact you pay for it for only 30 days is pretty stupid to me I mean KAWS makes enough money as it is I think you should make it you buy once and get to keep forever...
Not intuitive and should have a trial period.

When you open AcuteArt you are prompted to double tap to place art, yet there is no response. After playing around with AcuteArt for a while I realized you have to pay $7 to use it for one week. At least give people a 24 hour trial period to test it out and see if they like it first.
