When i log into the app it says it’s gonna send me a verification code but never sends.

once i got this i got an email saying someone logged in myAccount mind you that account I linked to the app it’s an old Instagram account I don’t use anymore and I was curious who it was I also changed my password, when I went to my account to my privacy settings it was the same emailI put on the app.
