This is hilariously bad. Just crashes when I try to connect to my FiiO DAC. The box is nice, I’ll keep using it without FiiOControl

After installing the iOS app my btr5 bricked after more than 2 years of use. I had to reflash the firmware manually to fix it. Don’t bother.

Useless with R7, unstable connection and doesn’t stay connected, I wish it work like WiiM

Refuses to connect to EH3 NC headphones. Can no longer control any sound settings in the headphones now.

I really dont know why this useless app for was allowed on app store. It literally not working on any iphone.

FiiOControl is not connecting to me Q5. Now I can’t configure or change any parameter in my DAC. Do not buy any FiiO DAC as their support is awful and their apps for iOS are useless!!!!

If there was a way to rate a zero, I would. It can even manually select the device. The previous version would sometimes work. Very unreliable. And even though it is mostly in English, occasionally it reverts to Chinese… what the ????

If you have iOS (iPhone) you may want to wait on purchasing the FiiO KA17. It is otherwise a great product but the iOS version of the FiiO control app does not support it.

FiiOControl simply has no remaining function, developer abandoned it, and should be removed from FiiOControl Store. It has been years of broken trash.

I wish this company and Qudelix could collaborate on a portable DAC. FiiO makes nice hardware that sounds good but it is handicapped by their awful app and poor software in general. Hire a competent coder, please and consult with at least one native English speaker.

I have an iPhone SE running iOS 15.7.3. I just received the Fiio UTWS3 and am not able to connect to either left or right receiver through FiiOControl . It will ‘see’ both but when I tap on either to connect, it tries but never does. This means I can not control the receivers, update their firmware, or customize the multifunction button controls on them. So, all of those features of the product I paid for are unavailable. Leaving me with basic Bluetooth receivers for my IEMs that I could have bought from another company for far less.
That said, I can pair with them using the iOS Bluetooth procedure fine so I can use them in their most basic, out of the box configuration.
No matter what I have read and tried, I have been unsuccessful getting FiiOControl to do what it claims. Others say that location services need to be allowed for FiiOControl to work. My location services are enabled but FiiOControl does not show up in the list to enable services for it specifically (if that is even what is supposed to happen). I have exhausted all online resources I have found to no avail.
FiiOControl is worthless and as a result has degraded the feature set of the UTWS3 product to the point I may just return them and go with a different brand that will actually give me what I paid for. Not sell me on features and functionality that is not provided.

Fiio products are great, but FiiOControl only serves three purposes: nothing, nothing, and nothing. It's impossible to pair a device with it. I've tried with the BTR5 and the BTR7 and I couldn't do it. I ended up deleting it from my phone.

FiiOControl is completely worthless. FiiOControl has failed to connect to my BTR5 for a long time. FiiOControl has never worked well period.

It’s too bad that apps can’t earn demerit badges or something because FiiOControl would get a ton.

App finds my connected device, but when you press on it - “Device connection failed” is the messaging forever. All forum posts about this are never addressed and there is no fix. Sad. Need to find new products and get away from Fiio.

Doesn’t connect no matter what I do for UTWS3.

For the most part, FiiOControl is hampered by poor connectivity. It takes multiple tries to recognize your device, and when it does eventually connect, it seems to do so by sheer luck. FiiOControl also can brick your device if you try to rapidly switch between settings. I had to boot into a virtual Linux environment to flash a ROM onto my BTR5. An altogether frustrating experience, especially when companies like Qudelix have such an excellent companion app.

I was pretty scared about FiiOControl having read the negative reviews. But reading an article on my headphones, HD 820, and another on my DAC, BTR7, which discussed the FiiO Control App, I gave it a shot.

I’m glad I did!

When it downloaded and I opened it, it immediately found and connected to my BTR7.

The first thing I did was to update the firmware. The language wasn’t quite clear. The first attempt didn’t update. The second attempt it did.

Outside of that, in general it is easy and straight forward to use.

It looks really nice and feels intuitive.

Using the EQ USER1 to match the article I read for the HD820 comp was smooth. And afterwards, I decided I didn’t like the articles seating and switched the EQ to Rock. Now I’m feeling brave and feel safe in exploring!

My BTR3K is pairing again, when working this DAC with App is amazing!

I was hesitant to download FiiOControl due to its low ratings but my BTR3K was recognized and paired easily. The UI needs some work but things like volume control, EQ, and other options are controllable from FiiOControl . The EQ I found very useful since I realized the settings are stored in the DAC itself so I can use the same EQ settings on multiple devices simply by connecting or plugging it in my BTR3K. This is also helpful for iOS since there’s no apps that can do systemwide EQ on iPhone/iPad. Without these options my review of the DAC and app would be much lower. My phone is a iPhone XS Max so the connectivity isn’t the fastest but FiiOControl only takes a few seconds to see the BTR3K
