I subscribed for this app a month ago and I can’t get it working . When I go to the part where you do the volume bass and equilizer it’s all grey and it won’t let me do anything

I can’t figure out how to get the app to link to the Apple Music library that is already on my iPod touch and is currently playing. I can even cast the audio to other devices, like my MacBook Pro and my Roku HDMI streaming stick connected to the TV. It's gotta be possible because I used to have no problem with accessing local music on the iPod.
