GREAT Point & Click Adventure / Puzzle / Escape / Mystery Game

This is for you if you love the genre of point & click adventure puzzlers, or complex room escape games. This game is released chapter by chapter but it is worth the money due to the quality and complexity.
Play the free Prelude first, then Chapter 1 (this game) then on to chapter 2.
There has only been one puzzle I’ve needed help with - that was in the prelude and had to do with how to interpret a clue on the back of a flag. Everything in Chapter 1 is challenging but not frustrating - if you think about it for a bit, you can do it - although if you do get stumped there is an in-game hint system that provides hints and then offers to let you skip a puzzle if you wish.
All in all, a great game. Eagerly looking forward to Chapter 2!

Good Fun, Could Be Better!

For the most part I truly enjoyed the game. The graphics were nicely done and the tone of the story was pleasantly mysterious. My least favorite parts were the “spatial reasoning puzzles” where parts have to be put in the right order to make things function. They have nothing to do with moving the story along nor do they have any connection to the problem at hand, just filler that eats up some time and makes the game play out longer. To me, they are tedious and the most silly part of this kind of puzzle game. If I want that kind of boring crap I’ll play a rousing game of Sudoku. I feel like I’m getting short-changed paying for an escape game that is fraught with tiresome filler.

I’ll probably get the next game in the series (with lowered expectations) but will most likely take the shortcut around the banal “shuffle the pieces” segments.
Nice game, but you can do better.

Take my money!

You have a fan for life. There is something so comforting about the mechanics of this game. It’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s consistent, the puzzles are different and interesting and none of them were so hard I was annoyed (although some definitely had me thinking for a while). The world building has that myst quality but is still fresh. I want to k ow more!!! Thank you for the excellent imagery and world building annnnd ooo man back at it again with the bit of silent hill/horror seasoning—just enough for some spice—but not enough to ruin the contemplative aspects. Truly, thank you for making this game. It has heart and it shows.

So good!

I am extremely picky about paying for puzzle games. I played the prologue of this game and knew it had potential. I was really excited to see Chapter One hit Meridian157 Store. I was a little apprehensive at first to pay for a single chapter. After reading the reviews stating the chapter was a significant play, I decided to purchase it and see for myself. The chapter provided extended play, steeped in tricky puzzles and fetching items to be used later. I played on hard so I had to really get through it in my own. Last night I put it down because I got stuck. Today after a little brainstorming I figured it out. I really loved this game. I can’t wait for chapter two.

Fun point and click adventure

Make sure you play the free prologue game first to get the most out of this game. The game is a solid point and click escape type adventure game. There is a story to unravel making it more adventure than a room escape. There is no silly character dialogue to sort through which is my preference for point and clicks, more Myst than Monkey Island. Not too difficult for experienced point and clickers but challenging enough to hold my attention. The hint system can help you if you get stuck but it doesn’t give things away, there are walkthroughs on line too if you need extra help. Thanks for the fun game, looking forward to chapter 2

Loved it! Well worth $1.99.

I don’t use hints and I put settings on ‘difficult’ I worked on it for weeks and I was sad when it ended…so glad there is Chapter 2.
Wow! big improvement’s from the Prologue. It seems like puzzles were more well-developed, tested with more types of users maybe?
Beautiful graphics, sound, and amazing details!
Even though the puzzles are hard, they make sense when you figure them out (except for the wall safe in the basement 🤷‍♀️ That was the only one I had to do a walk-through for and it really still didn’t make sense). There is so much variety in the puzzles.
Very smooth moving from room, the map helped me make sense of it when I got disoriented or “lost” in the tunnels. I like Meridian 157 because it seems like it could be a real life place/situation, not a fantasy or sci-fi adventure.
I don’t usually replay games but I did, and second time playing it took a couple hours instead of a couple weeks!
On to Chapter 2.

Entertaining

I like this game and it’s very similar to games made by Glitch Games. 1 star less because some puzzles don’t make sense. But fortunately the hints (most of the time) are really good and helpful in getting you by so you don’t have to look outside Meridian157 for answer. The story is interesting and it makes me wanting to get going. Also the puzzles are variety and non-repetitive which is good and non-boring. Overall it’s an enjoyable game. Note: After playing for a while I realized this is not the beginning of the story/game. You need to download and play “157 Prologue” first (a short intro game) before continuing on this game which “157 Chapter 1”. So confusing.

Excellent game!

Ok, so I bought this game today and I couldn’t put it down. I played for 4 hours straight and finished the game. It was a lot of fun. I got stuck a few times and used the hint system but no big deal. It was challenging and just an overall fun game. It was a lot of going back and forth, which isn’t really “fun” to me but the gameplay made it all worth it. I was bummed when it ended but I’m excited for chapter 2 whenever it’s ready... hint hint devs...

But seriously though, this game is worth the money. If you like point and click, escape room type games with fun puzzles, this game is for you!! 5 stars!!!

Wow!

I’ve played every single (decent) escape game in Meridian157 Store from Cube Escape, Eyes of Ara, The Room, Glitch Games, Isoland, True Crime, Facility47, down to the slightly crappy Fire Maple Games and worse.

Happy to report that this is towards the top of that list...it has everything; big environment, layered puzzles ranging from moderate to fairly difficult. Long game play. Not a ton of reading. Puzzle logic always makes sense.

There are just enough elements to find without it being overwhelming and instead of auto-populating discoveries to a “cluebook,” they rely on the player to decide what’s relevant. Some clues are subtle and others more clear - which is 100% better than those that give you the clue right away (what is the point of that anyway?)

Long story short - get this game, turn it on “hard” and don’t use hints (because you never should). If you do, don’t whine about it because it’s challenging - that’s a good thing. This game is nothing short of amazing. Did I mention don’t use hints?

Meridian 157 Chapter 1

These puzzle games are no better than the actual puzzles themselves. Hard, not impossible. Clever, not frustrating. This game is there in the middle of the spectrum. It was fun!! I did need help on 2 or 3 of the puzzles, but at least afterwards, I could understand why I wasn’t getting it. One game was so out of the box confusing that even after I saw the answer, I realized I never would have figured it out. Here, it took awhile for me to get used to not being able to pan around like other games but not a problem.

Chapter 1 (157)

This is a very good idea for a game story theme it never gets boring it just keeps on making you glued to your seat trying to figure out where do I need to go from here! And for a game that I play on my iPad it can’t get any better but it does and sometimes I get stuck and it takes awhile to figure out which of my brain cells I need to use to understand the puzzle that I’m on at the time of game play but eventually I get going again and thoroughly can’t wait for the next adventure.✌️

Looking forward to Chapter 2

I really enjoyed this game. It’s a great point and click adventure with mostly logical puzzles that I could complete it in Hard mode. Plenty of scenes to enjoy and seamless game play on my iPad Pro 11. I deducted half a star because I found the graphic resolution lacking definition - felt like an old game unable to render properly on a new device. The other half-star was for making me play the same puzzle 4 times in a row - an old gimmick to lengthen game play and boring for the gamer. Despite that, I will buy Chapter 2 when it comes out. These pure PAC adventure games are few and far between these days, so a big thank you to the devs!

Must have!

Growing up I was addicted to a game series called Myst. Played them all and haven’t found a game series quite like them since, till this game! Love everything about it, and can’t wait for the rest of this to be released! My only hope is that ya’ll make enough money from this to be able to continue making this into an entire series, much like Myst. Normally don’t spend money on App Store games, but I want more of this series, and will continue to buy the next chapters to help fund its creation! WELL worth two bucks. Keep it up!

Excellent game!

First, let me say I very rarely write reviews, but this game deserves one. I am an old geaser from the days of text based escape room games like Zork, and the early graphical interactive fiction such as Leather Goddesses from Phobos, Leisure Suit Larry, and Freddy Pharkas.

Of course the best comparison is to Myst, one of my all time favorites. Meridian 157 is on pare with Myst, with excellent puzzles and graphics. Kudos to the developers!

I have to admit some of the logic behind some of the puzzles escapes me, but I am an old geaser after all! Getting ready for Chapter 2…

Gorgeous

I love everything about this series. The story is intriguing, the context is tight, the graphics and sense of space is spot on, and the soundtrack makes sense. For me the puzzles were just right...I was stumped a few times wondering if I was on the right track, and that’s a good thing. I used the hints a couple of times, and they were just enough without handing me the answer. Oh, and thanks for letting me skip that one, sometimes I get spatially challenged! Want to see the next one soon!!

It’s not bad

Somethings were slightly annoying, like you couldn’t click on things until other things were done. So if you were in a room clicked on everything left solved another clue when you come back to the first room new things could be clicked on and explored. Good story line but long and drawn out... I think this chapter doesn’t give you much info about what is actually going on...

Fun game though I like the mystery and the puzzles were good. The hints were on point and it was a nice way to spend the day playing.

Very Well Done

I’ve played all of “The Room” series several times, and they are the standard for all similar games. This is right up there with them. The graphics are superb. The clues are adequate without giving away the answer.

My only minor complaint is that a couple of tasks are virtually unsolvable without skipping them. I’m a logical thinker and yet see no obvious pattern in one of the places where wires need to be turned.

Overall, MORE than worth the very reasonable cost!

Great point and click adventure!! A cut above the rest!!

The free prologue and this game are both soo good. Fantastic point and click adventures with intriguing locations and story... what really stood out the most, is the amazing sounds and songs that seemed to perfectly fit.. not quite as challenging as, say, a Glitch Games adventure, but just as satisfying to me😊 try the free prologue if you are unsure, but if you enjoy it, please support the good premium games devs still make!! Freemium games are poo

Intriguing and fun

Was very excited to see a continuation of this game since I really enjoyed the “Prologue”. Satisfying puzzles...and I like that you can choose level of difficulty and whether or not you wish to complete a puzzle (there were a couple of puzzle types I just didn’t like playing so glad I didn’t have to slog through them).

Puzzles aside, the atmosphere of the game is great. Very mysterious and spooky. And I’m still intrigued by the mystery of the place...can’t wait for the next chapter.

Fantastic game!

This is a great game to play! Quite long (much longer than the free Prologue, which I appreciated). It was definitely with the money. Excellent graphics, interesting twists, just the right amount of challenging (and good hints available if you need them). There was also a really nice mix of the type of puzzles within the game. The story line kept it interesting as well with just the right amount of creepy. I’m very happy I decide to purchase and can’t wait for the next chapter!
