Sad to see all of the fake positive reviews for this app. It is remedial at best. So, Farmers, please keep your office personnel off of the reviews so the real users can voice the truth about this app.
The app clocks me speeding in the same location on every trip regardless of my speed. It also always says I'm speeding while driving thru a roundabout by my home while driving 10 mph or sitting still waiting for traffic to clear; the speed limit there is 40 mph. I purposely test this app by driving 10 mph under the speed limit and it still says I'm speeding. I drive other areas 10 mph over the limit and the app does not register speeding. The app frequently has me driving 20-30 miles in an opposite direction from where I actually have driven (the app is supposed to notify emergency personnel if you're in an accident to help locate you, an impossible task if it has you 30 miles away in another direction). The app records numerous hard breaking occurrences at points in my trip where I am driving a sustained speed. The app frequently has me as a passenger in the vehicle and not the driver; I always travel alone. Constantly get messages asking me to not drive at night. I'm a home health RN and work at night. I guess Farmers would prefer that people just pay a premium and never drive their vehicle...pathetic.
I have emailed Farmers many times with complaints, but never have received a response. The app they use really doesn't track distracted driving. Using a phone or not isn't the only distraction. Eating, smoking, messing with the radio, blowing your nose, spilling your coffee, yelling at your children, etc. all distract but that's not tracked by this app. And yes, it is a battery drainer. My phone loses 50% of it's battery life while I'm sleeping if I don't turn off WiFi or data, all due to the Signal app.
Is the loss of privacy worth the app, you be the judge. Do you need someone in Beijing following your driving? I do get the discount, but all of the hoopla over this app being so great is completely a joke.
