If APAScorekeeper is working properly and not lagging it’s ok at best. And that’s a BIG if. When it’s not working you just can’t keep score at all. More than once we’ve had to go find a blank score sheet when it was lagging. That or delete it and redownload it which sometimes works. But even when it’s working it doesn’t work. I’ve had it switch players on its own or switch and then switch back. It’s one thing if you’re watching it constantly but if you look away for two seconds and it happens then you’re adding every ball (in nine ball) to the wrong person. Then when it’s wrong, even if it’s user error, or god forbid you have to use the bathroom, you have to stop everything so you can catch up. Nothing about APAScorekeeper works well IMO even on a good day.

Download app over year ago used it a few times for 8 ball league, worked then stalled / crashed. Well now went back on to use it and it doesn’t work at all. I’m Asked to tap on upgrade but nothing happens, so I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling but i keep getting thrown back to iPhone password to “continue” even tho it’s in my cloud. So now I can’t even get APAScorekeeper ?
Also I see there’s been updates but I never received them or even an upgrade notice the entire year and a half it’s been on my phone.
What to do ?

App freezes up at times and I’ve had to exit and reboot it. Not good when it happens in the middle of a match!

One feature that would be helpful would be a practice match feature. That way we’re not teaching people how to use it during a match, and it could be used to teach new APA members how the scoring goes while actually playing during g practice.

I like it better on my iPad vs iPhone. A little trickier it seems on phone. And even more so when scoring 2 matches at a time. Overall I am liking it. Timing of things gets thrown off though when you forget to mark after player finishes. If scoring 2 matches thru my iPhone and player takes a timeout then I can’t switch to other game to mark as needed (or at least I couldn’t figure out how to). Even still I like it. The scoring app is very well written, but in our league on Monday nights, it freezes OFTEN. Whether on WiFi or mobile data. The whole pool hall will report the outage and it slows the matches down while you wait for the unfreeze and then catch up. We end up still doing paper as a backup. Love APAScorekeeper , fix the server issues.

The scoring app is mostly efficient when the phone is a newer model and it has a solid connection. The pool halls WiFi is not a good connection, and it seems like most of my teammates have phones that are not the best.

Even my phone sometimes requires me to reboot APAScorekeeper as APAScorekeeper has frozen mid play.

It’s hit or miss. In our area we play in a lot of small private clubs and even if we have access to the WiFi it seems to glitch a lot. It won’t allow us to edit matches and sometimes it even just stops working all together. I like the idea of APAScorekeeper just need to get it to stop glitching all the time.

Why does it take the same amount of time if not more time to post scores now that we have instant scores of the match?
I spoke with other leagues, TAP, for instance that use scoring APPs’
their stats are posted in 24 hours not 6-7 days?

I’d like to practice with it and help with ideas even though our region does not yet support it. Can you open it up for people using fake names (“NotReal1”) and SLs and an obvious warning it is for testing purposes only?
I’ll give a more accurate rating after I am able to try it.

I dreamed of helping to write APAScorekeeper as far back as 2011.

In theory, match results can be acknowledged by the opposing team using automated text messaging (“Results are..., type “C” to confirm) thus freeing up league operators from needing to enter data, and having all results visible at the end of that night.

Makes 9 ball scoring so much more accessible.

I have to delete and reinstall APAScorekeeper about once per night because it gets locked into a loop and won’t take data entry.

Does it mean when match over we going to have results then instead of waiting ?

Used APAScorekeeper on an iPad last night. The iPad was physically warm the whole time and the battery ran down in about 4 hours. (The device should last for ~10 hours.)

APAScorekeeper spends 99.99% of its time displaying a static image and waiting for user input. It shouldn't be using any more battery power than what it takes to keep the screen turned on. There is clearly a bug somewhere. Please fix.

Now if you guys can just make it mandatory for all leagues that would be great.

APAScorekeeper need a thorough Performance and Load testing. Its a horrible app, freeze and frustrate not only the scorer but also the player and that impacts the player’s performance.

I cannot open APAScorekeeper at all. It gets frozen or shuts down completely when I did open it. It is very frustrating to have that happen while you are in the middle of a pool match.

I have to constantly delete and reload. Many issues because so many are on wifi. Stats are manually updated so it takes a week to review.

I have to uninstall and reinstall APAScorekeeper on a weekly basis to get it to "work". And God forbid you lose signal or the Wi-Fi drops while you're using it.

Rubbish, literally an app that should be disposed of & made all over again so it’s worth the star I had to give it!

The scorekeeper App has become unusable since upgrade to iOS 15.1. Is this a known problem?
