4.5 out of 5
misleading

the whole advertisement is that you can track your pain on a physical dummy, but you have to pay for that aspect.

Can’t figure out how to use this

Is there a guide or user manual. All I see are things telling me what it will do. Nothing about HOW to use the features. Looks wonderful if I could use it.

UPDATED - Awesome concept couple of issues.

[Edit] After response from developer, I've revised from 2 stars to 4, taking one star away for minor issues. This is still an awesome app deserving of 4 stars. The lack of device sharing is a considered trade-off for privacy that I can support. Thanks!

- I really wanted to like ChronicInsights, it is such an awesome concept. Unfortunately after spending hours setting it up I discovered several issues. Random crashes 3d modeling not functional during 14day trial, forcing one to sign up for the subscription just to test the functionality. This is not documented. Unable to edit colors after use in the 3d modeling. Minor convenience issue. Lack of documentation... ChronicInsights is not as intuitive as it could be, making it frustrating to use. Fatal issue - Installed ChronicInsights on an iPad Pro (ios16.x) and signed up for the subscription to be able to test the 3d aspect; expecting it to replicate to all other devices as is now usual practice for apps. It installed on my iPad mini but not my iPhone. After several hours of setup, discovered that ChronicInsights and the subscription are only functional on the first device. So now ChronicInsights has to be deleted and the subscription cancelled, then re-installed on a single device. This is a fatal problem. Need this on an iPhone for the Watch functions, but use the iPad mini for data entry, which seems to be impossible. Further, the subscription cannot be edited or cancelled until after the trial period. Love the concept of the 3d modeling... and would willingly pay the subscription fee if the last issue can be resolved.

Helpful

I like it so far! My only suggestion is that menstruation/ovulation isn’t included under factors, and that’s a major one for a lot of us.

Absolutely Amazing

I have tried so many different apps to keep track of my symptoms and this is the only one that clicked with my brain in a way that made it easy to remember to do. I keep it up to date and check in a couple times a day. I can visualize the fluctuations better with the graphs, and I love being able to export them to print and show to my doctors. I haven’t tried premium yet, but ChronicInsights is seriously amazing and the only thing that clicks with me. Plus I love how many options there are for disorders, there’s a lot on there that you don’t usually see in apps like this. I recommend ChronicInsights to all of my friends, and they all love it too. The custom symptom feature is also really cool, since there’s a very wide range of symptom experiences that aren’t included in the actual symptoms list yet! Thank you for ChronicInsights, it’s wonderful.

Great app for invisible illnesses

This is a fantastic app for keeping record of pain that others can’t see. It has many options for logging pain and you can add in any or all conditions you have to track pain. It also gives you highlighted areas that show the pain visibly to those who may be in doubt. It would be a great tool to use for SSD court as it shows visibly all the pain people just do not see with many chronic conditions.

Game Changer!

This has been such a game changer for several reasons. Great for showing care team or anyone we struggle to explain the ever changing nature of AS. So easy and helpful to log symptoms. To see them over the timeline shows what I cannot communicate adequately. Thanks for creating this!

Amazing

I currently struggle with back pain along with joint pain in different parts of my body. This has made it a lot easier for me to show my doctors where the pain is and to track my symptoms over time

Wow!

Amazing app. Nothing else like it, and the developer, James, loves questions and feedback to make it even better.

Only apple watch?

I loved what I saw, but I own a fitbit. Can link it to this?

Almost perfect!

ChronicInsights is great, basically exactly what i was looking for! Its not completely free if you want the 3d model features, there’s a basically $30/year subscription, but i honestly think it’s reasonable for the usefulness if you struggle with describing your symptoms in words. Definitely rather have that than ads that would play at the doctor, so i think in this context it makes sense even though I’m not the biggest fan of subscriptions. Very glad there’s free trial!

A couple of weird quirks/seemingly missing features;

1) The 3d modeling feature pauses music, and ChronicInsights seemingly randomly pauses music outside of it as well. Not the world’s largest issue or anything, but I basically keep sound playing 24/7 for my sensory issues, so it is a bit jarring to enter things in because of it.

2) I really wish there was an option to view an overall heatmap/timeline that includes all of your symptoms on one model, but that may be hard to accomplish depending on the backend of ChronicInsights . Having symptoms sorted by type is very useful for tracking trends with specific symptoms, but it makes you have to jump between multiple models when looking at overall pain. Once again not make or break, but it would really increase usability in my opinion

3) I also wish there was options to erase color you’ve put down in case you make a mistake and don’t notice it in time to undo. I also wish there was an option to move the location of text boxes, but not the place they’re pinned to for when you have multiple notes in one day in the same place

4) I wish when you were entering in durations, you could put in a star and stop time rather than only being able to enter in an actual duration of time ; like 4 pm to 6 pm rather than it being entered in as 4 pm for 2 hours. The current format makes it a bit hard for things without even duration amounts to be entered.

Very much like ChronicInsights and I’m quite excited to see how it improves, I wish you all the spoons and low pain days my friend
