iWifi - AR speed & signal test Reviews

I have been looking for a better way to evaluate the performance of my home WiFi and came across iWifi. It provides accurate network speed, but the part that surprised me was the AR feature where you can measure the network speed at various places around the house and see the report using AR. This allowed me to compare the different values and see where the signal was the strongest or the weakest. The developer obviously put a lot of effort into iWifi. Very nicely done!

This is not just a WiFi app, this is a wifi Suite. It provides speed tests, detects devices on your system using real time montoring. I have three routers and I am able to swich between them easily and quickly. Excellent speed, no drag and easy on the eye with nice looking graphics. I've been looking for an app like this and I'm glad I found it. I had a question that I sent the day after christmas, on a sunday and got an answer the same day from the Tech team, very impressive.

I’ve been using it for months now to check and track my phone data speeds and wifi speeds, mostly. Nothig complex. iWifi does everything I want easily and quickly. I find nothing about it to be annoying, obtrusive, or irritating—it’s simple to check my speeds/logs with nothing else distracting me. I went out of my way to write this review because I feel this is uncommon in apps anymore, but this app has been a gem for its simplicity and ease of use. Really glad I found it.

This is one of the best apps on the Apple app store for getting your internet speeds. It's non invasive and gives you incredibly accurate data. I have been impressed with iWifi for several years now. And it is completely free. You can upgrade to the VIP edition which gives you a lot more features, and it is completely worth it. I strongly suggest you try iWifi over other ones. I strongly recommend it.

Gave this four stars. Trying to check home WiFi before school starts this year. iWifi works well, but after multiple samples of rooms, it will shut you off for the day, and request you join the deluxe version by paying for iWifi . Having to spread my house exam over several days. Still four stars.

iWifi is invaluable when analyzing any Wi-Fi Network...it is a NEED not a want! 🤓

And now with AR and “mapping” for the iPhone version it is simply the beat period!

And not to sound like a bragging pro wrestler or anything, but rather the many blessing and where I come from...I’m an old Apple Developer, Level III Tech and former Sales Manager where I’ve been blessed to have clients who have followed me from my old Apple days...where I’ll just say I’ve literally worked on every Mac that’s ever been made to show my young age of early 50’s. 😇

So, it is so great to find such a marvelous piece of network analyzing, signal strength testing and mapping software! Thanks for all you do!

I downloaded iWifi to measure WiFi speed and strength. It works. It also keeps a log of each test so I can log exactly how often the network goes out and how much the ISP is screwing me over.

I’d like to be able to export the log to pdf in a future version.

I’m trying this primarily for the WiFi signal strength feature. While it gives me some numbers, the speedometer-style graph isn’t very good.
+ It only shows the current signal strength value; It doesn’t show the range of values for a location.
+ It doesn’t give any indication of whether a reading is poor/adequate/good/great, etc. Is -63db good? I don’t know—I was hoping iWifi would give some guidance.
+ The colors in the graph also don’t seem to mean anything. For example, they don’t go from red to green indicating poor to great signal strength. They are just pretty colors, but they could actually be useful in a good graph.

I could say more, but I’ll leave it to the developer to go do some reading on how to convey information in graphs.

This is one of the best Wi-Fi Speedtest and dB signal meters I ever used. You can store each location for the signal meter so you know if you need to adjust your router settings on your mesh system (dB switching) or if your router is lacking the signal/distance in that location.

This isn’t really a free app. If you try to use it without buying the VIP version it will only go about 15 seconds before it pushes another pop up ad. They ask if you like or dislike iWifi . If you select dislike it takes you to another site.

The WiFi signal meter itself appears to work fine. There are less annoying apps that work just as well though.

I didn’t provide proper camera permissions and it got stuck so the only option was to “restart” but that just tried vr mode again and said the only thing I could do was restart. No option to fix camera permissions and app would not go back to beginning. I just wanted a simple map of devices and signal strengths.

I was trying to diagnose some signal issues in my bedroom, furthest room from my router. iWifi helped me find the best location for my TV. I can’t do anything about the router location, but at least I can maximize the signal I do have. Perfect!

At first glance iWifi itself looks good when you open it. But as a developer myself it looks very unique in its own way. But every single picture does not satisfy me whatsoever, however it’s a pretty good app. It jus makes me think he got all the pictures right off of google and pasted it into his own coding. But overall great app if you want a wallpaper. This is jus not for me.

Pretty neat app. You can do a visual benchmark of your network speeds in each area of the house and view the benchmark through the camera view on your phone. Difficult to explain but easy to use. Overall great experience.

How great to be able to find an accurate setting of speed at our location rather than one that's one or two hours drive from here! It's easy to get iWifi and it's fast.

Everything is pretty straight forward until you get to the “Security “ page. I’m told I might be connected to a Phishing site but no other information is available. There apparently is no other information about the site, so one could surmise that iWifi itself is the site.

Ran iWifi , kept getting poor readings of -65 to -70. Had issues with dropped signal in parts of the house. Purchased a new Wi-Fi. Got the exact same signal strength. Same all over the house. Used different app, show a strength of -32 in front of the WiFi, and dropped to -45 next room. Basement in the -50 range on new system. That seems much more likely. Wasted money on the premium....

I upgraded to the paid version but still can’t measure signal strength. Only speed test works. Unable to provide feedback or ask questions. Would not recommend

It is a WiFi app it will see how good your connection is or how bad it will check but if you buy the subscribtion you need to cancel it it does nothing without you parchasing it will see the WiFi for free it will be correct

It helps me keep up with my download speeds and the security of my internet and helps me find the best spots for internet in my home I have the lifetime also and I recommend a lot and I normally don’t buy stuff like that

So far it’s working awesome. My only concern would be with the name. Your app does a great job at recording signal strength. I almost past yours by because I thought it was all about speed. Great app!!

I didn’t know what to expect when I downloaded iWifi. The testing capabilities are pretty nice on here. It helps you understand your WiFi’s behavior and placement better.

Have to say I am impressed with the free version and that says a lot. They give you everything you need to do a self home assessment. Thank goodness

I find iWifi very good at testing the speed of my YIFI and when I should turn it off and rely on my cellular network.

It does what i need. That is all i asked. Easy to use. Signal strength is rather slow on the update rate, but it is fine.

I really find the signal strength test useful finding the dead spots in the range of the network.

This application does not work and I have not received a response from their support a month after I sent them an email. The speed test does not attempt to start, and the signal strength test only shows 0dBm with every attempt. Do not waste the money on buying the pro version.

Needs a lot of work on selection of WiFi to be tested and make records usable. Good start to a usable app but not there yet.

Helps with determining signal strength in all locations in the home. I used it to adjust the antennae for maximum performance.

The meter does not respond to the actual signal strength. The little icon bars in the notification area do a much better job. The speed test seems fine but I wanted to measure WiFi strength.
