Sorry, the app doesn't allow that - only MasterCard or Discover - have to maximize profits! Using any other regular credit card? Sorry, that will cost an extra $2.50, because even as a public utility, we need to make sure to nickel and dime our customers as much as possible. Using a checking account? Good luck with that - if you don't do it perfectly, the app will show you paid but then add a late fee! Just skip this app and send a check with a paper bill - clearly, the company isn't set up to do much of anything else.

This app for some reason every time I open it it requires me to sign in over and over again, it never did this before, it logs me out by itself. I happened to check it when I realized my bill was almost due because I was not receiving any notifications and saw that I was signed out and that was the reason why I was not receiving bill due notifications. Complete garbage!!!!!! This needs to be fixed immediately!!!!!!!!!! It’s a hassle signing in again and again every time I open the app, that was the whole purpose of installing this app so I wouldn’t have to have a hassle doing it online

• No support for FaceID/TouchID (weirdly leaves the app to go to a webpage to handle login - how janky is that??)
• No support for ApplePay (only ApplePay Cash - totally different and not a way to set up paying a utility bill)
• No support for Apple Watch (you guys are getting pwnd by ComEd for heavens sake, and that’s setting a low bar - how humiliating is that??)

The usability of the app is terrible. On the up side, the app exists. And it’s… pretty? I’m stretching for positives here.
Look: these failings, which all look excusable on paper and are gross breaches of what an iOS app should be in actual use, paint a really really clear picture that People’s Gas is run by old people who don’t understand modern technology, and probably never have to use the app or pay a utility bill themselves.
And that’s how you get an app that prioritizes lazy or cheap programming shortcuts and fails in use (but probably demos great to management!) rather than one that is truly useful to your customers.
