I can just find the newest version (edition 10) in App Store but it really makes me disappointed. How do I get older versions like OALD8 or OALD9 then purchase it?

A brand new dictionary version that ditches compatibility with old version and Oxford ID web subscription, forcing us to pay twice for Ox . Also, the dictionary app is now subscription-based contrary to previous version when we just need to buy it once. And ironically, the web version is free (with ads but I don’t mind), you only pay for some premium features (iSpeaker, iWriter). Why would you want us to pay for Ox just for looking up the words when it clearly lacks premium features?
Not to mention, we cannot change the font size of the definition, only the UI, which is a major backward compared to OALD8/9.

I bought the OALD 9th edition for iPhone few years ago for 30$, and today I noticed that Ox is simply deleted from the apps store. So I presume you no longer provide any further support or updates for the owners of the mentioned version.

What I don’t understand and makes me feel like I have been fooled is that a new version is available on the apps store , the 10 edition. Which is not free. I don’t really understand why I have to subscribe and pay again for another update. This is what we call a theft.

Really disappointed by the fact that no discounts were provided for the purchasers of the 9th version. I paid full price less than a year ago :(
The new app (besides an horrendous icon), looks much better. There’s s big omission in my opinion: I love the introduction of Oxford 3000 and 5000 word list, but...why not include those lists in Ox ??? It’s common sense! It should be in the favorites and not in a link to a website which is just useless (since I cannot see the meaning of a word in the website). Please correct that and offer at least one year for free to 9th version owners.

You should add a way to buy Ox and not as subscriptions only!!!!
I have OALD 8 but when I press restore nothing happens !!!

I's not fully compatible with IOS 15, at least not on my iPads, Air 2 & Air 3. It occasionally stops responding to whatever you write. And sometimes it suddenly restarts. It's so frustrating that now I have returned to use the older version 9th. You need to update it and compensate those of us who have a subscription and are not able to use it.

What if I don’t want subscription and wants to own the dictionary like before ? Why I can’t change the theme and background of the page like before ?
Can you add both features (subscription for those who want it and ownership for those who want to own it) ?

Well the audio stops working . Very heavy and slow táctil. Try to contact them and the page never opens . Hopefully get fix all Ox crashes. I think no need rate but I have to put one ⭐️in order to write a comment.

I’ve bought OALD8, then OALD9. But what is still a disappointing about that is I can only use OALD8 at the moment. Since updating to iOS13, I could not restore or download OALD9 anymore. It obviously costed me to update to OALD9 for something I can use.

And the latest update pack was pushed 11 months ago.

You can’t do that to your customers.

We demand an update to OALD9 so that we can use it on our iOS13 devices.

Hey, I’ve been using OALD 9 for over 3 years and recently purchased 1 year plan. Overall, I find it OKAY.... but what annoys me the most is a lot of bugs! I mean, whenever I open Ox , it suddenly stops music, podcast or whatever I was listening to! I suppose Ox itself is quite unstable and it keeps crashing especially switching from another app to this! Please fix these issues as soon as possible. :(

The overall quality of the content is pretty good but the design of the icon, the entries, the buttons, and navigation seems a bit off, making using Ox less enjoyable

I can't sync my data from iPad to iPhone so I deleted data in the iCloud. But when I want to re-sync my data, it just reminds me "iCloud syncronization is unavailable. Please check your settings". Ox can't create a new iCloud data in my iCloud account. So I can't sync data in any device. Can you fix this problem in next version？I really need this function.

The content to be downloaded after the update has been downloaded again. Now it takes more than 6GB. it's too big!

This version doesn’t provide sync between devices. Plus, the layout looks ugly on iPad comparing to the previous one.

There are a few aspects that need to be improved:
1. It seems that the history function doesn’t work very well. Usually it only keeps a few items of the search history, not all of them. 2. Besides, search history also records some unnecessary words that are only partial of the intended words generated while putting in the input box. 3. Words placed under the “favorite”are automatically sorted in the alphabetic order, but I think it’s better to sort them according to the time of search history, or at least such option should be available. Overall it’s a wonderful app, and I will love it even more if you could make the above improvements. Than you!

In general I'm loving Ox. Nice features and contents and all that. But there's several bugs, especially when I'm using this on my ipad as the side app. Sometimes searching doesn't work so I have to close it and open it again. And It kind of annoys me when it pauses my music whenever I start Ox. Also history needs fixing. It often includes words I didn't look up.
That said, other satisfying features make up for those. Full text search is amazing and helpful. I would've given five stars if it weren't for a few bugs.

I purchased OALD 9 a few months ago. I think I have the right to have the latest database of words, definitions and examples in my app. I do not need the new features at all.

I’ve been using the 9th edition of this awesome dictionary for years. Then when this new app was released I got thrilled by the new features included in it e.g. CEFR tags. But now after upgrading to ios 13.4.1 things have turned into a nightmare. This is because there is no text selection capability in 10th edition from this update on. Besides, there is a huge bug in text selection and copying in 9th edition from this update on. So, at the moment I can’t use either of them and that’s a pity because I’m completely dependent on them. Please help out!
