Purchased ExifViewer to be able to share photos online, through email, and messages without providing more personally identifiable information than necessary. This was one of the only apps listed in App Store that stated it does not track you. App does its job well and makes it easy to clear metadata in mass, but one crucial feature it is lacking is a button or link to “authorize additional photos” from iOS photo album.
I do not provide any apps access to all photos, only those photos I approve. The only way to authorize more photos in ExifViewer is to open iOS settings, navigate to ExifViewer ’s settings, and eventually, can select more photos. I will continue to do this, but please, developer, add a button in your app to authorize more photos! Other apps already do this, like WeChat.
That single feature would turn ExifViewer in to a solid 5-star app! I will update my rating if that feature is ever enabled.

If you’re looking for an Exif modifying app then you’re in the right place. I personally like how it actually modifies the photo rather than making a new one. Been using it for years.

ExifViewer is VERY slow to start up, as it seems to be reading my photos or something. And it doesn't cache it's view so if you switch away and switch back, you have to wait 30-60 seconds before doing anything.
Bulk EXIF editing works well. Bulk geotagging effectively doesn't work, because it requires that you either manually enter Lat/Long (who has this?) or choose a preselected location that you cannot select from the map, but must search for. And the search is VERY BROKEN.
For example, I'm in Bonaire and I search for "Salt Pier", a common location. Does not find it. I scroll around the map to locate it, then search again, then it finds it. But then it will occasionally just clear the location out and show me nonsense locations like san salvador.
To me, this makes the geotagging feature essentially unusable.
If you are taking photos anywhere that is not in the US, you will probably not be able to use this to properly geotag your photos.

1. It would greatly help if there were clear instructions on how to use ExifViewer . What buttons to press and what the buttons do.
2. And also more importantly, we need a final verification page that shows us exactly what information is being shared in the end result after we run each graphic/video through your App. The hopeful guessing we’d love to leave behind.

I haven’t used all of the available functionality of ExifViewer, but the editing features that I have attempted to utilize have been easy to locate and make use of! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because I can’t say it is completely glitch free, but so far, no problems and great for information detail adjustments you might want to edit, include or remove!!

V1.7 does not let you edit altitude or time zone. Altitude can show the position has been modified (a mismatch may show you are underground or in the sky). Time zone can show the position or date/time was changed (a photo of a sunrise over the ocean should not show a California time zone).
There are other missing values. Direction and speed for example. Please add the ability to edit all metadata.

I purchased ExifViewer because it says on the description it will work for photos and videos but when using it ExifViewer does not even give the option to select videos.
The settings have no option for this either.
The “App Support” link opens a Wordpress page with some comments but there is no way to request support there, it’s a dead end.
Apple should ban misleading developers from the store.

I tried it for a few days but was concerned about giving ExifViewer access to all my photos. Here’s why...
Too many reviews aren’t real. Look at the computer-generated names and the exact same dates of the 5-star postings. And out of 1200 reviews, not a single one is below 5-stars? Impossible.
Asked the developer to respond to the problem of the fake reviewers, but so far no reply. Hmmm.... Maybe the developer will reply here. I really want to give ExifViewer a second chance.

ExifViewer is great but the picture file gets smaller after I edit the EXIF information of the picture. I wonder if there is any detail loss. There is no option for not compressing the file.

I had high hopes for ExifViewer. All I wanted to do was add keywords or comments or (anything) to my images META that would be recognized by my iOS15.3.1 Photo Album. That is to say, I want to Mark a photo so that it is found when I search.. Dog (for Example).
IDK if it is in the description comments keywords or even camera information, as long as the Camera Roll search finds it by that word. I have tried every Exif editable choice and although it says data has been updated, it is not seen (or changed) in CameraRoll search.
Spent several hours trying to make… no luck.
All my files (mixed type..JPG, png, tiff, etc.) are original "on iPad", not "in cloud". On iPad Pro 12.9 M1, iOS 15.3.1

App crashes when removing all datas from slow motion MOV videos. It can’t get details from them too. Its camera roll album doesn’t show videos and refresh brand new videos.
Its technical support seems good though to answer though. Hopefully they can reproduce and fix my issues.
