Premium monthly to play simple files

I know there are many apps like this that do the same thing, charging more or maybe less, but the entire practice of charging a renewal service for an application that only is going to load files locally stored on the device or in other applications is in my opinion criminal. If this application were even $20 with a one time fee that would make sense, anything one time fee wise would make sense, but again a renewing service for somethings so unbelievably simple is wrong. An alternative I would suggest that also charges for premium, but does not force it on you is evermusic

Thank you!

Just bought a new car with a clunky buggy usb interface depriving me of my favorite mp3 songs...which I have on an old thumb drive. I just ran DopplerMP3FLACPlayer through Apple Car Play and it was euphoric! Beautiful! Thank you for giving me an alternative to subscribing to something I don’t want just to listen to the songs I already own! This is DopplerMP3FLACPlayer to play those songs you already downloaded and/or ripped from your old cds. 1st app I ever paid for and it’s well worth the price. Kudos!

Thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to use.

Doppler 2 is the best app I’ve used for wrangling hi-res music on my iPhone. I don’t know what I can say that I haven’t said in previous reviews. DopplerMP3FLACPlayer looks great, it’s well-designed, and everything works as intended. Right now, my gripes are extremely minimal. I’d love an option to disable the “Heart” feature. I don’t use it, and it takes up room where the song title should be in the UI. The song titles should also scroll if they’re too long for the screen’s width, or scale in another manner. Otherwise, this is perfection! And it keeps bettering better, too, because the developer updates regularly and is quick to respond to feedback. Love it!

this is probably my only serious review

this is an amazing app, been so hard to get local files on my phone because of the overload of steps, and I can do everything I could do on itunes for pc on my phone, this all is so helpful. makes it easier to listen to my remixes and stem edits as well.

CarPlay support

Thank you for adding the CarPlay app! It’s a great addition. Sometimes I just want to play the music I own rather than whatever the default Music app might give me.

So so good!

DopplerMP3FLACPlayer is awesome, and so is the desktop version as well! Works great with CarPlay, and importing your files is a breeze. Can’t recommend it enough! Spatial audio support too! The developer is super super responsive and helpful!

The best option for local music playback

Doppler is well-designed, easy to use, and stable. It’s far and away the best option and it keeps improving with each update.

Features I like:
+ The interface shows album artwork and loads it quickly
+ Multiple options for music import including the file browser
+ Optionally shows your Apple Music library as well
+ Music queueing options
+ Library search
+ Changelogs are available in DopplerMP3FLACPlayer
+ Good options for sending feedback to the developer
+ Proper Apple CarPlay support

Features I’d love to see:
- Replay gain support for albums/songs
- Gesture based playback controls on the now-playing screen
- The option to hide the music import menu into the settings menu
- Alphabetical/phoenetic organization for other languages such as Japanese. For example, albums or songs starting with “あ“ are currently categorized under “#” instead of “A”
- Customizable UI accent and icon colors

Finally!

Finally, a music player for people (like me) who have large music collections & are not interested in streaming. I’ve pretty much tried them all, but this is the best. I can purchase hi-res files or rip tracks from discs I own & easily access them without iTunes.

Great

DopplerMP3FLACPlayer is great overall. A beautiful and functional local player but I think it needs some UI improvements and polishments as well.
Adding  music like animation to play/pause button for example. Finally thanks to the developer for bringing such a great app to us.

Great new version

This is a great updated version of Doppler. The new option of adding songs over wifi is fantastic. You just drag and drop to your browser and they show up on your phone. The Liked Songs playlist is a handy addition. And like v1, this is totally independent from iTunes. I’m happy to pay for DopplerMP3FLACPlayer.

By far the best option for managing music on your phone

Easy to use, incredibly sleek and fits the iOS aesthetic, and most importantly, it absolutely excels at managing music files on the iPhone. No ads, no creepy data collection, and the dev is super responsive if you have any questions. Totally worth the money. Get it now!

Great app

I’ve enjoyed the first version of this music app and I’m glad there is a second improved version, but it would have been nice to know about its release in order to take advantage of the discounted price during the first week of release.

Perfect Music Player

Came across this gem via Macstories, and it does not disappoint! I love that I can separate my ‘owned’ music from the music app (which I’ve never been a fan of), and the player runs super smooth and is easy on the eyes. I also installed the software on my Mac, and it’s just as great there as well, with fantastic integration with the iOS app. Keep up the great work!

This should come with your iPhone.

See title — this is one of the only music player apps that gets regular updates, the developer is incredibly accessible, and there’s no subscription nonsense like most apps seem to shove in nowadays. Works with CarPlay too, which is already extremely hard to find in 3rd party apps period. Just pay the $6.99 and use this, it’s worth it.

Superb!

I like Doppler a lot. I respect the developer for not including any trackers or analytics in DopplerMP3FLACPlayer . He did a great job designing the interface, provided a wealth of options to import music, support for FLAC is great. DopplerMP3FLACPlayer has matured a lot since its inception and is being improved at a very rapid pace.
This IS the best offline Music player, bar none. One of the the very few "must have" apps that make the iPhone experience fantastic for me.

100% The best

Have been searching for two years for an application developed for IOS that can let me imbed custom album art into my music. As a musician this is very important to me, as the album art will usually have about 12 drafts before it’s finished. I also like to look at the album art while I play test my music. Emailed the developer for support and they were very helpful also. Worth more than $6.99!

Outstanding Customer Service

When I couldn't figure out why my music wasn't populating to Doppler2 I sent an email to the developer and he soon wrote back with an explanation that completely solved my problem. Even better he followed up a week later to ask if I still was happy with the solution. Yes, very happy. And even more impressed by the proactive customer support! DopplerMP3FLACPlayer works perfectly, especially once I started using it correctly, thanks to the developer's good help 😉

Superior music app

If you're a music owner/downloader (not a streamer), this is DopplerMP3FLACPlayer for you ! I have been so frustrated with major interface shortcomings and continued feature neglect in the iOS Apple Music app... DopplerMP3FLACPlayer continues to just 'do it better'. And let's not forget to mention that it come with a companion CarPlay app, always a sign that a developer is 'in it to win it'. The developer has been prompt in fixing bugs, and collecting feature requests. Excellent app right here....

Just what I needed

Looked for a long time for an iPhone app to play downloaded music on my phone. Mostly in the car, where the streaming apps’ CarPlay worked poorly for me. Tried several others but wasn’t satisfied. Then I saw Doppler added CarPlay and now it’s all good. Responsive developer quickly fixed a glitch with FLAC files. Two thumbs up!

Update: I love DopplerMP3FLACPlayer! I’m using it with headphones, or in the car with CarPlay. Both UIs are well thought out. Developer has continued to refine DopplerMP3FLACPlayer , and is a pleasure to communicate with. 👍

Saved me $500

I’ve been using a 3rd gen iPod for decades because the music features of my iPhone made it hard or impossible to listen to my lossless music library the ways I want to. The old iPod is on its last leg and I was resigning to buying a high-end DAP to replace it when I stumbled-upon DopplerMP3FLACPlayer.

I may still buy that DAP, but until then for a few bucks Doppler let’s me use my iPhone the same way to listen to my FLAC music library without needing a Mac or iTunes or a cloud service (important to me because all my computers run Linux 😁).

Additionally CarPlay support makes DopplerMP3FLACPlayer work seamlessly in the car (something the DAP won’t do).

Finally, the developer is super friendly and helpful and I love supporting other programmers like that.

If you are looking for a way to use your iPhone as a music player without a bunch of other things in the way, try Doppler, you won’t be disappointed.

Not a great app

I don’t recommend DopplerMP3FLACPlayer, it is unstable to me after making a few playlists yesterday some are gone now. And not friendly to make large playlists , ie dealing in folders or a lot of different artist, album with uploads, so very manual. I’ve been searching a lot and JetAudio might be better solution.

Worth every penny.

Worth every penny. Bridges the gap between Linux and iPhone music transfer with the WiFi transfer feature. Incredibly responsive developer to boot.

Amaze balls

Only way to rig flac files in iOS v

What Apple Should’ve Made

This should be the default local music library app. It’s fast, fluid, and an exemplar of good design on the Apple ecosystem. It’s baffling the default Music app is so inept at what it originally was designed to do, and yet concurrently makes so much sense why both paradigms—local vs. cloud—don’t play well together. I’m not naive, it makes sense Apple Music would get most of the engineering and marketing priority behind it because of its intertwined app + service nature. But Doppler and its independent developer show it’s not only conceivable for Apple to fork this functionality (as a standalone local music manager), but for both to flourish.

My only worry is that without a subscription model for Doppler, even at $10/yr, that the developer will move on to other work. But until that day, I’ll keep loving it.
