Great idea, but why is it glitching?

2024-12-18

I love the idea that you can give rice to those in need while simultaneously educating yourself about covid and various other subjects. The first day I used Freerice, it was fine for the most part, but today, I don’t know if it’s me or Freerice but it’s causing me trouble. I have difficulty answering questions because they keep denying my input and it takes a few times for it to register. I had to restart once because it kept glitching and wouldn’t let me proceed because it couldn’t get my input, as well as pick the wrong answer when I didn’t even press it. I’d love to help, but why is this becoming a challenge?

Glitching

2024-12-18

I love the concept of Freerice and I’ve been trying really hard to use it through the glitches (you have to tap multiple times on your answer and sometimes it registers all at once so it says you get the next few wrong, error messages pop up, and your progress gets deleted) but so far, Freerice barely opens and I still have my donated rice amount at 0 even though I’ve answered hundreds of questions which is sad. I really wanna help donate with Freerice and I hope the glitches can be fixed so I can use it better!

Wonderful idea, needs some fixing though

2024-12-18

I love the idea of helping out those in need right now, especially after learning about the crisis in Yemen, but I literally cannot play the game for more than a minute without it crashing like three times. Whether it be answering questions, changing the category, or even trying to open Freerice it seems to have difficulties running. If these bugs in the system can be fixed that would be great!

Love the App but a Bit Inconvenient

2024-12-18

Love this app but some of the categories are too annoying. The categories Flags of the World and Identify Countries on the Map require you to complete the extra step of clicking on the image to see what it’s asking and then choosing the correct answer every single time; it dissuades users from doing those categories. There’s enough room for the image and the multiple choice options but they put in the extra step. Would love to see this changed so it’s easier to answer questions and donate money!

Love it, but no level past 3 on Countries?

2024-12-18

I was happy to see that Free Rice had a mobile app after having played on desktop years ago. A couple things I’ve noticed...

1) When I reach level 3 of the Identify Countries on the Map category, it cycles through the same 30 some-odd (estimation) countries and doesn’t progress to level 4 or 5. I checked the “difficulty level” tab, and levels 4 and 5 are unavailable - is this because I haven’t reached them yet? Even if this is the case, I’ve cycled through the same countries many times and haven’t progressed. Not sure if this is a bug, or if the game developers have yet to offer levels 4 and 5 (which would be greatly appreciated!).

2) In the World and Canadian Geography section, the diagrams that go along with the questions do not always appear (can click on the “tap to show image” selection, but screen is blank behind it).

Thanks!

Love Free Rice

So excited to find Freerice. I used to play online all the time and frequently checked Freerice Store for an app and was so happy to finally find one after all this time! Love Freerice .

Vocabulary section works great but then I branched out to other categories. Few problems on the geography and art history with invisible images for questions. There is a spot to press for image but nothing there so the question can’t be answered🙁. Please fix and I will definitely rereview as 5 star!

Good concept, but lots of errors

2024-12-18

I just started playing this game because I think the concept is great and can do wonders for world hunger. At first, I was answering questions without any problems. But later on, my answers wouldn’t go through as fast (I would have to click multiple times) and an “error” notification started popping up after nearly every question. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s just slightly inconvenient.

From Account to Anonymous

2024-12-18

New issue: my account is now Anonymous and I have no group.

Wonderful app. They have fixed the issues below.

Please make sure to fix the issue where users can’t see the questions (forcing them to re-download Freerice ) and to fix the issue of creating groups. I couldn’t see my new group that I created. It would always default back to a group that I don’t remember joining.

Constant errors

2024-12-18

To start off, I love the concept of Freerice so despite the annoying glitch stuff I play it as much as I can. It’s an excellent cause and an easy thing that could really make a difference. The problem I have is that I can never get above like 30 grains before I get an error message that makes me start over. At times I can’t even open Freerice because of all the errors

Great game, but........

2024-12-18

This is a amazing game. I love to help the hunger in anyway I can. There’s just this one thing........ I’m on 35,000 grains of rice and there’s this one question where when I click the answer it will not let me go to the next level to proceed. And I’ve checked if it was Bc I had no service or internet but both where fine. So I restarted the game and it still has not worked since. Hope this can be fixed ❤️🤪

Amazing idea, but glitchy

2024-12-18

Firstly, I’d like to thank the developers for providing such a good way to help others in these difficult times. It’s a wonderful idea, and one I’m in full support of, but Freerice seems to be glitchy. There are lots of error messages that occur back to back while using Freerice . However, all in all it’s a wonderful app and I’m grateful that it exists on a mobile platform. Thanks!

Great cause, but...

2024-12-18

I love the purpose of Freerice but once you make an account, you have to use a “one log in” to be able to use your account. This would be fine if it didn’t expire in 24 hours. The link comes through email and most people, including myself, don’t check their email that often.
Excluding that minor blemish, I highly recommend Freerice.

Great app, greater cause

2024-12-18

Have fond memories from using this in school! I use to feel so proud of myself for learning new words and helping contribute to a cause. I was very pleased to find that now they have an app!! Freerice is great! straight forward, easy to follow and very intuitive. Great vocabulary builder with different levels of difficulty, makes for a great way to pass the time and learn some new words. And it feels good to know you’re helping work towards something, however small it may be.

App Improvements

2024-12-18

First let me say I love Freerice . It's by the far the best way to build a vocabulary and do something positive for the world at the same time. I would love if Freerice somehow recorded what words I got wrong so I can go back and look them up. This would be a nice feature since when I'm on a streak the last thing I want to do is open another app to look up the word I just got wrong. This way, I continue and look up the words after. Cheers!

Wonderful idea but very slow

2024-12-18

I was stoked that the website had an app but every time I select an answer it takes 30 seconds to process. I love the idea behind Freerice but it’s way too slow. Once this problem is fixed it’ll definitely be a 5 star app.

Update: the speed problem was fixed and it’s so great. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in doing a good deed while learning!

Whenever I play the game, every couple of minutes, the game freezes and I am forced to refresh the site. Even after the game freezes, for up to 20 minutes, the website does not let me log in. This is a big issue because sometimes my streak can get ruined and I lose up to hours of progress just because the game breaks. It was a great idea, but the developers need to fix these issues.

Features

The amount of money generated when you see an ad can vary, but overall, money raised on Freerice each day from every right answer is roughly equivalent to what the UN World Food Programme spends to purchase 5 grains of rice.

But regardless of the type of assistance, you can be sure that 100% of all funds generated on Freerice go to the World Food Programme, and 93.5% of every payment received by the World Food Programme goes directly to helping children and their families.

With dozens of categories — from English vocabulary to famous paintings — you can quiz yourself on your favourite subject, and generate money to support the World Food Programme at the same time.

When you see one of these ads (if it is a commercial ad and you are eligible to see it), you trigger a financial payment to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to support its work saving and changing lives around the world.

This money is used for many types of assistance — not just rice — depending on where needs are greatest.

Freerice does not earn or keep any money it raises.

Freerice is the fun and educational trivia game that lets you make a difference and get smarter — just by playing.

By playing, you are generating the money that pays for this rice.

Here's how it works: as you play Freerice and answer questions right, ads appear on your screen.

In the game, these payments are represented via grains of rice.
