Review Meta: Filtered Reviews Reviews

Thank you Mr Noonan for fixing a problem in my life. It’s kinda been like a rock in my shoe. I know the reviews are iffy but... how else can I get some idea? This will help. Thank you. I’ve found with reviews of bed and breakfasts (when traveling) that actually reading the reviews REALLY helps me a lot. Way more than the number of stars. I’m for products... well, probably the same BUT who wants to read tons of fake news? If a product is wildly reviewed with fake stuff... I’ll know to not waste my time. NOW at least. Again. Thank you for making my life even just a little better. Nice NPR spot! Shout out Planet Money!!

i used to (and do sometimes still, just for interest’s sake) sleuth through individual reviews and reviewer profiles to look for patterns or suspicious activity myself (and yes, flag some along the way) because reviews were CLEARLY not trustworthy.

i’ve tried some other apps & sometimes use to compare, but THIS ONE is BY FAR the most thorough, the most informative, the most clearly presented, IMMENSELY HELPFUL for making big & small purchasing decisions... and dare i say FUN for stat-loving consumers like me!

It is nice to have an app ok me this to keep companies honest and to my knowledge only two products exsist that can help but both have their flaws. Meta reviews can be confusing as they cram too many messages into one screen. I clicked the hyperlink that says "ignore onetap ratings" and nothing happened. The page did not update or refresh. The entire sentance prior to the link is just confusing as it is under if the link leads to a definition of one tap ratings or if it changes how it filters. ReviewMeta clearly is intelligent. The brains are there, now time to had it to a graphic artist to clean up ReviewMeta .

No where did it state that you should restart your phone within the instructions to complete it. I thought I was missing something after following the steps until it was time to share it and add the option. I have an iPhone 12 Pro on the latest iOS. Once you restart your phone, you will then see the option to share it with ReviewMeta.

This worked great for me. It eliminates ratings that don’t have reviews, then it analyzes those reviews and the writer’s other reviews and eliminates those that “look” fake. You then get a revised star score based only on the acceptable reviews. On top of that you can look at why the rating changed, how the distribution of stars changed before/after discarding the filtered reviews.

ReviewMeta provides great analysis and details about the reviews. I like that the adjusted rating is quickly viewable with all the details available to understand the adjustment. I will definitely tell my friends about ReviewMeta!

I’ve only been using this for a couple days and it seems to be working. However, the instructions to get it working are not correct. The “Check this app” button does not show up in the apps section, it shows in the action section. The action section is below the apps section (where the instructions say you need to go). So it’ll be below the built in “copy” action.

This is clearly designed for a phone, not an iPad. When I sit down and shop, I tend to do it on a tablet. The report screen, however, seems to be a fixed size; one appropriate to a phone, but ludicrously tiny, even on my iPad mini.

ReviewMeta works great. It just needs a resizeable (or auto-sizing) window in which you can clearly read the report.

Since the Pandemic, we have been ordering online. Most of us, rely on people’s personal experiences for reviews and reread some of these reviews to be fake or pulled from other products sold by others as their reviews; has soured.
A true resource, to weed through the muck.

I tried the website version and it seemed to work fine, but even after reinstalling I don’t have the option to share to ReviewMeta . If there was at least the option to copy/paste a link like on the site I could get around it, but the way it is I’m literally unable to use ReviewMeta for anything.

I use the this app website often when I am shopping on the computer. As an iOS application, it works just as good

I love that ReviewMeta cuts through the garbage robo reviews and gives you a confidence rating on the product. A rating I can actually trust.

I like using this in conjunction with Fakespot… And they both are very comparable and come up with the same results really nice to have this valuable tool

It works, is better than the other one; but have reservations about what is being done with data gathered.

Share that and I change to 5 stars.

I have followed the tutorial provided in ReviewMeta and cannot apply these specific instructions to iOS 15 screens. The tutorial needs to be updated AND the authors need to provide a link to a HELP DESK, which currently does not exist. It’s a pity that a potentially useful app is so poorly supported by the authors, except for an outdated tutorial.

Impossible to imagine shopping without this tool. Too much dishonesty around ratings to trust unverified reviews for any purchase. 6 stars.

It is about time! Why has it taken so long for such an incredible idea? I could have used this a long time ago.

Ha! Sorry, Couldn’t help the irony. 5 stars, but just started using it. Update will come later. Keep the quality updates rolling!

I find ReviewMeta to be so useful when making online buys.

...but it’s often slow to load.

It’s very useful. I wish they could fine tune it, but maybe that’s not possible. I often compare it to Fakespot and they can be opposite lol! I trust this app more so I say get it!

This helps to guide you on some of the reviews because sometimes you have to wonder about some reviews.

I have come to depend on ReviewMeta to help prevent me from making unwise purchases based on false reviews.

Gives clarity to a review search that may be questionable.
