Respect privacy! Quality is dropping, unrelated videos, too many duplicate articles

Here we go again, it is back, hyper local advertising based on my ip address throughout CNET with the name of my location (...) shame on you this app! SHAME ON YOU!
...
Please consolidate “ articles “ and let us opt out of categories!!!
This AM no less than EIGHT “ articles “ on the Motorola Razr phone. Seriously?! That should be consolidated to ONE !!!
Still stuck with the annoyng slashed banner and poor UI setup, defaults to AutoPlay videos, cannot block categories you are not interested in ( like the countless HBO, Fortnite, how to watch sports, ... ), articles in the list have many duplicates and seem to repeat randomly, worse after reading an article the list rescrambles and can kick you back to the top, automotive articles may cover a new or upcoming vehicle ... ok, I’m interested, play video, 20-30 sec advert ... and then a video from 5 years ago?!?!? ... and tags and categories are a flipping mess. So many stories untagged or wrongly categorized. High time to get some structure going and let people hide some sections and tags.

Fun and informative

With this latest update I can read without accidentally clicking on a hyperlink in the article. It was a little irritating to be reading an article and then mid swipe be switched to a different article. I like the ability to switch between newest articles, or specific groups. While it is about technology news, once in a while there will be the random article that doesn’t quite fit until you realize that it involved some piece of tech being used in a strange way.

AutoPlaying Videos are Frustrating

The look and feel of CNET is the best; You got it down to be really fluid. My only gripe (there will always be a gripe) is that videos AutoPlay too often. It’s repetitive when the same video is posted on the a different article. I wish if CNET recognized through our profiles that we have already encountered that video 2x in the same week. For example, this issue is especially prevalent with articles about 5G updates and videos tagged with 5G. That Detroit Automotive Show? I’d encounter the same video in some cases even though one article focused on GM and the other on Kia.

iPhone XR rewiew

Please don’t assume everyone knows everything you are talking about as you speed by . Slow down a bit. Don’t zip by words that someone might not be familiar with and can’t look up because they aren’t articulated clearly . Otherwise glad you are giving the reviews!
EXCEPT the XR review where the silly Girl spent forever playing with the colors and seemed to go on forever ! Taking pictures of herself etc. that was too slow, and elementary child stuff.

CC only available in video previews?!

When you tap full screen the captions disappear and there is no option to enable captions again. This feature is clearly designed with hearing people in mind, NOT accessibility for the millions of deaf and hard of hearing people in the U.S. If you already have the caption feature and the caption files, why the heck would you only limit this to the preview? And even if you were only thinking of hearing people, what if a hearing person wanted to watch full screen with the sound off? It makes zero sense.

It's frustrating, to put it lightly, to see yet another well-known company develop an app that comes SO close to being accessible but then crash and burn.

Amazing app on my XS Max

Thanks for this amazing app. It been years since I saw your reviews in your official website, mainly because your app in the past was an awful experience in iOS and other OS. But now CNET has one of the best UIX I’ve ever enjoyed on iOS in general. It’s beautiful and easy to use. Keep polishing CNET with features such as 3D Touch in app and for CNET icon. And please add a widget for seeing news videos on the widget screen like apple news one.

Auto limiting searches

Just downloaded the this app app and now any search for this app reviews connects me to CNET and limits what this app reviews are available to me. For example, two days ago found great articles on reviews fir 2019 refrigerators and since CNET download can no longer access or revisit that same information even when I click directly from a search separate from CNET ? Bottom Line: Hoping to increase more reviews and content after using CNET and instead CNET automatically locks me into very limited search results restricting my access to what I most want to explore. It results in me going to other reviews websites. I ready to ditch CNET fast.

CNET USER

Delivery of products so fast almost like “from another planet”. Perhaps the reason being that CNET automatically linked with my Walmart account, turned out so very cool-The final result I wanted to achieve by way of ordering a product is achieved without ever having to receive the actual product-Like I clicked on epilator and My heavenly Challis appears as though laser hair removal has taken place.

Great App, Still Room To Improve

A while back the developers of CNET listened to feedback and added a setting to turn off autoplay for videos. I’m hopeful they’ll listen to this one tiny complaint I still have: there’s no way to increase the font size. Maybe I’m just getting old, maybe I just like big words, either way I want to be able to make the font bigger. That complaint aside, if you like this app then you’ll enjoy CNET .

Great Content! .. But Buggy App!

Love your reviews and videos, but your app crashes more often than it functions correctly!
Transitioning from a notification to the article in your app is “iffy” at best, selecting a picture within an article that is playing a video (even if it’s paused) causes app to freeze forcing a restart. Seems like it needs more memory allocation? Something to stop all the restarts?
Please fix these bugs! As I said, I Love your content, but CNET needs a lot of work to deliver it smoothly! Thx!

Articles don’t load

I haven’t been able to read any article since the latest update.

Thank you: CNET is finally working.

Update: Why do stories keep jumping from one column to the other when you scroll up or down? It happens all the time, sometimes even after the scrolling stops. I click on the story I want to read and it suddenly moves to the other column, which opens a different story.

Sensitive Hyperlinks

I spend a considerable amount of time reading articles on CNET and have only one complaint - hyperlinks are WAY too easy to tap on. I have to make it a point to tap where there is blank screen, otherwise I end up jumping to a linked article. If an article has too many embedded links, I just give up and read something else because the problem is that bad. Other than this, it’s a pretty good app.

My Review

I would score higher, but recent performance issues have left me with crashes and not starting up properly. I think bug fixes will fix the problem. Still a huge this app fan.

A couple of months later, I find the bug fixes, for the most part fixed. I still find CNET opening slow at various times. Both IOS versions iPad and iPhone. Nothing seems to crash.

Top Articles on Site & Comments

This is an OK App. Seems like it’s primarily for sending you Deals but it give you what you need. What is weird as some articles that are on top of the website don’t match the top articles on CNET . I tried searching for it via CNET and it was a pain. If they solve that it would be great.

Also, I don’t get notifications via CNET when someone replies to a comment thread I am in. It would be nice to get notifications and do all that within CNET .

One stop shop for all the Tech news

I have been craving for a place I can find real time updates on Tech news and this app is was that place, before I do a anything I like to check this app first to know what new gadget that are on the market. My favorite part of the news is the Road Show, where they show features of new cars.
