I have to admit, the first half an hour playing this game, I was blown away. The art, voice acting, music, the high production cut scenes, everything was spot on. And as a fan of Hokuto no Ken, this game seemed like a dream come true. It was just oozing with nostalgia and fan service. But play for awhile, and you discover the gameplay is almost nonexistent. The battles look great and sound great and the specials are a joy to watch, but the combat is so simplistic it’s barely a game. Instead of fighting battles, 90% of your time spent with this game will be opening chests, farming mats, upgrading you units, stuff like that. If that sounds like fun, and you enjoy seeing your favorite Hokuto no Ken characters increase their stats with bigger numbers popping over their heads all the time, then this game is for you. Otherwise, the gameplay is pretty boring which mainly consists of farming and upgrading. Still, might as well give it a shot since it’s free to try. I still haven’t deleted the game just because I like the music when the game starts. Man that song is so epic...

First off I’m glad Sega took the reins on this one. It’s got that Sega action style that you see on games like Yakuza but this time it’s for this beloved manga series.

If you loves the comic and you have tons of money to burn, download this game immediately. Like any other freemium game this will cost you big time with crystal chests easily up there in terms of pricing. However at least early on this game is fairly generous with doling them out for free but like in any other freemium game this will plateau out pretty fast and you’ll be spending in no time to keep up.

That said this game is still a nice collection game for anyone who’s a fan of the series. The PVP aspect (so far early on) isn’t as annoying as in other games and the guild aspect is pretty rudimentary. However I’m sure this game will evolve in time and more spending will incur. You have to spend a lot of time building up and modding your toons like in SWGOH but at least this game has a good deal of flourish and pizzazz. It’s a turn based game so the mechanics are fairly simple and repetitive. It also has a tower based game mode that will take some time to clear each day. It’s also cool that you can practice battle with any other player in game.

Generally speaking this game is fun to play. Just get your wallet ready

I’ve played this game again after taking a hiatus fir 7 months. I’m a huge fan of fist of the North Star and Baki and this game at that time had them both. I enjoy the game as the storyline continues and enjoy the grinding and gameplay to be number one in the dojo.

The reality of the game is if you do not have six fighters or more that at Ultra Rare you will only get so far. That’s where real dollars and the gacha game come into play. If you don’t have a lot of money you want to spend on a game, you will probably only get so far.

The good news is the probably. Since playing you get a free turn in the system, and a lot of free gems. The free system has given me three top notch UR fighters (not all UR are made the same) so you can win and enjoy this game without spending a lot, if anything in the system.

If you enjoy FotNS or fighting games with a grinding system and many facets to improving an overall character then look no further. I came back to this game and glad I did so.

This game is definitely a must have. Downloading it early on is the best thing you could possibly do just like most games with the same format. But the what separates this game from the others such as, Strike Force, Or Star Wars, is the gameplay and story telling. Those two aspects really stick out to me. However, one aspect that concerns me is the amount of gems you get with each purchase. I feel as if a 10-Gacha pull(2200 gems) should be $20, I think this will be a great marketing strategy. Other than that, this game won me over.

Good job sega. Took a great name and ran it into the ground putting it behind a Gacha game. Don't let any other review fool you. This game is 100% a cash grab. Want to do anything ? Progress? Have sub par pvp team? Get your credit cards ready because it's going to cost you a lot to do so. Typical Gacha game who lucked out obtaining the fist of the North Star rights. Even if you get a special fighter, get ready to throw even more money trying to level him up. And by the time you get him up there he's just a decent guy now because every new special fighter released is way stronger than the previous one.
Instead of making a game or even porting one from a previous console, you get this Gacha game with FotNS slapped on it. Your better off playing the fotns pachinko game by Konami , least you can win money from that thing.

This game is awesome! Fun to play! And all around very well done.
BUT THERE ARE SO MANY DANG MAINTENANCE OUTAGES! I’ve only been playing a 2 weeks and NUMEROUSLY the server has been shut down for extended hours. I believe this is the 4th maintenance I’ve experienced in the span of a 2 weeks. If this is a trend I can see many loosing interest due to being booted from the server unexpectedly.

I almost definitely appreciate all the hard work that went into the game though. I’ve made purchases in game (which is rare for me) and I really support FISTOFTHENORTHSTAR. But I’m one of the ones that is slowly fading away due to server outages.

I love this game so much, mostly because it satisfies my FotNS mood. But there is a glaring issue with the pay wall they’ve built, including with there “VIP” system. Essentially the more gems you buy the better rewards you get including discounts on certain things, and certain characters who are locked behind pay walls like Raoh. And I know they need to do maintenance at some point but I have had 3 occasions where I’ve been booted out of the game because of it and it’s getting frustrating. And also just crashes in general. But still, it’s FotNS, and I love seeing my favorite characters so I’m hoping maybe they’ll change somethings.

I am a fan of the FotNS anime so I figured I’d give this game a try. I expected it to be another pay to win game but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. The roster of characters is great and the game does a good job of abridging the story of the comics. The graphics aren’t the best in the world but they are by no means bad. The game captures the over-the-top attitude of the source material very well and most of the characters present are faithful to their anime counterparts. All in all, if you’re a fan of the series, give it a try!

Overall, this game is great. Good graphics, music, and gameplay. It really hits a good spot between being entertaining and not sucking up too much time. The only thing I would complain about is how several tournaments are locked from your digital timing input. They just run on auto so it kind just makes you a spectator. Still, this is one of the better games on IOS.

Managed to get through the tutorial no problem but crashes for everything afterwards (and I do mean EVERYTHING now, including the previous missions that were part of the tutorial). I can load in to the main menu fine and collect my gatcha pulls and what-not, however that is the extent of my functionality for now, as whenever I try to start any quest that needs to be unpacked (aka loaded), the game will immediately crash once it reaches around the 50% progress mark, as stated in another user review for this game. It’s a shame honestly. The gameplay for this game is quite enjoyable but game-breaking bugs like this definitely detract from said enjoyment.

I’ve been a huge FotNS fan for most of my life. This does a great job of doing the franchise justice 👊🏻🤘🏻

EDIT: We had an extended downtime, and in the true Professional move that I had hoped Sega would make, you have said a huge Sorry and Thank You. I will forever be a Sega fanboy. ❤️👊🏻

UPDATE: The warehouse upgrade shows the “master upgrade method” costing 10 gems, but I just did it twice to make sure I wasn’t seeing it wrong, it’s charging 100 gems...

I’ve been playing since launch, this game is pay to win. You’ll never keep up with whales who give the devs the money they seek. Think about it, a triple A game is 60$ this game wants you to spend 100$ on 4000 gems. Which won’t get you a UR at all during either a gacha event, or UR summon event. It’s too grind heavy, too many stats to pad, exp takes to long to farm unless you’re a high VIP. There’s no good way to earn currency, and guilds are nearly baron. This game was promising, but it disappoints. It’s nothing more than a cash grab for SEGA. I also like how 99% of this games modes are ripped off from chinese rip off games. Nanto tower, and the dojo, quest and clash, this is almost that chinese dbz game with a FotnS skin.

This is an awesome game and I have been playing for years. Can you please add a button to use multiple items to refill the energy points? I recently realized I had a lot of sodas saved up and it took me forever to add 700 points as each soda is worth 10 energy points. Thank you so much.

I love the game and everything about it. My only issue is that I had to revert to an iPhone 5s and the game isn’t optimized good enough to fully run. I am really only able to level up by logging in collecting daily mission xp and gems so that I can summon and collect more mission xp. I can’t quite get the phone I want at the moment so I’m stuck with this for a while but I really love the game.

I feel like at a certain point, new content takes forever to be unlocked. I’m at User Level 85 and it takes ages to gain enough experience to level up and finally play new levels of story mode. Also, I feel like it needs some more new stuff my spruce it up a little? Like, how about a What-If story mode like in Ken’s Rage? Or an original story to follow? (maybe even a Hana no Keiji crossover since Tetsuo Hara illustrates both series)

Look I love the game but I feel as if you could give more gems to the players because some can’t play story either from low level or finished story it’s just not enough for event and ranked gacha also the ranked gacha extra hero drop rate is super low and every one want to get the character and compete to see who’s better but when I spend so much on the game for a Rin I don’t see interests be locked in for so long please fix this sega

I’m glad we finally got a Fist of the North Star mobile game. This is one of those games that has pretty much all the characters that can be summoned with gems or coins. However, I’m not able to progress any further because FISTOFTHENORTHSTAR keeps kicking me out whenever I try to play through the rest of the story after the 5th quest. This needs to be fixed. Please update this game. Games are meant to be actually playable.

I never write reviews trust me im lazy but this game right here has me pretty addicted and im not just saying that because I have an addictive personality
The story stays pretty true and the collecting of character aspect keeps you on the edge of your seat theres so much i could tell yall about this gane hut im writing this at 4am and i got work at noon so download the game!

Every little tap on this game brings up a loading pinwheel. Sometimes I’m on the same screen as the equipment upgrade section and to use some mats to upgrade a single piece of gear makes me wait 20-40 seconds to load there upgrade. To load the upgrade needn’t take so much time. I actually got frustrated at my game while enhancing the characters because it took so long to load. This makes the game relatively annoying to play and until they fix it I can’t recommend the game to anyone. It’s far too tedious.

The gameplay is good with the rest but the games lags every time when I put it on highest graphics? Also I like to see more crossover events people may agree like a crossover with jojo’s bizarre adventure part 1 phantom blood and part 2 battle tendency?
