This is probably the most fun I’ve had playing a flight combat game on my phone so far. The 5v5 PvP timed matches are perfect for a quick break during the day or logging repeated back to back sessions while working through a new aircraft.

Yes, I’ve heard about people complaining about how an A-6 would never stand up in a dogfight against a F-16, let alone a MiG-21, but that’s part of what makes it fun. You’d never see these interactions in a combat simulator, but if that’s what you’re looking for, go somewhere else. Each class (light fighter, medium fighter, attack, etc.) has it’s advantages and bonuses, and you’ll find certain planes do better in certain environments. Once you unlock the special ability of a particular aircraft, you can really unlock its potential.

The first plane you get, the F-5, is a quick and nimble fighter that has enough punch to make you feel like you’re not outclassed by the pilot flying the F-15 or the Su-57. Once you get going, you can combine missiles, rockets and guns and take out an entire team in a single pass if the situation is right. And launching a missile and finishing off the enemy with your guns just makes it easier to thread one encounter into the next. Once you get rolling, you can really do some damage to the other team. My record so far is 11 kills. I can’t put it down!

Well, I love this game and it’s a lot of fun or a few things that could be added. That would make it better one being communication calls you should implement comms so we can talk to our teammates while playing the game during a battle and you should add loadouts so you can change your plane anytime while in respawn throughout the match. You might start a match with a certain plane and they might be losing with it and it’s kind of one-sided at that moment, then you change your loadout and turn the match in your favor.. so that would be nice and then one thing you guys should look into is how come when I play by myself I can win match after match after the match but the second I invite a friend or squad member we lose every single match.. thanks in advance for your continued efforts to make sure the game is the best that it can be

You don’t have to pay to play.. BUT… It will take forever to get any decent Jets that you will have fun playing with.. Especially the F-14 which is one my favorites. The physics aren’t bad but sometimes you will literally slide through the sky like your ice and usually smack a wall… I wished they’d fix that! The missiles are a huge disappointment! The F-14 for example has 8, I’ve shot six at at on target to get one kill.. that’s ridiculous and 4 of them miss!! Yet I drop flares and I get hit by every missile shot at me! Just a today I’ve lost 5 matches in a row all because my missiles keep missing, I’m leading the target, doing everything I’m supposed to do and they still miss.. this one jet my missile missed and it was perfectly in my sights and did not even drop flares!! But the missile missed!!!! Is it because I’m playing against bots more and more? IDK… Like others have said if you play by yourself you’re most likely going to get screwed. Seems like there’s more and more bots on the server.. I watch over and over planes fly right by the objective. Or in death match they just fly out to the middle of nowhere, they’re not disconnected (which happens.. I understand that) but they deliberately just fly out away from everyone then turn around and come back to the battlefield… many things are repetitive like the bots were in PUBG etc… I hope they are not using bots but I’m really wondering.. BOTS ruin games…

this is a very arcadey game first and foremost so if you’re looking for realism, it’s probably not here. but to make it better, i say add more maps without restricting players to play on the same map (the canyon) for a while before you can switch modes. also there’s a lot of grinding before you get to the more well known planes. level 3 is your first popular plane (mig-21) besides the starting f-5, but it takes too much to get to, since you’re constantly on the same map every match. not only that, but the next popular plane that players would want is the mig-23 or the f-4, levels 7 and 8 respectively, which would take lots of grinding, but after that, every single plane you get is well known and liked by all. more customization would be cool too, i like the paints they have but maybe make a default skin for all planes be blank so you can add any country’s roundel to whatever plane you want, or maybe a decoration. another recommendation i’d say is adding variants of the planes you get, for example, adding the f-15A as the starting f-15 you first get, when you get to it, and then working your way down to the F-15ex through some variant research tree that is independent from researching other aircraft. i think that’d just be a cool idea. i also think a mode for higher tier planes where you could engage in beyond visual combat would be super cool. but the game itself is nice for an arcade style game, and dogfights are fun

Game play is fun and well crafted. Not to SIM like and not too arcade like. Perfect for a phone game.

Biggest downside to the game is, you are almost forced to buy the pass and still the game is a bit grindy. I would be ok to buy the pass once and if you make it all the way through you get the next one. Something to reward people more for making it. I don’t mind support games, but for a phone game I will never spend over $20.

While the gameplay is fun there are two things I would change if I was on the team, or things, I would recommend the team to change. First I would make deaths subtract points in the scoring system. Either you start with 200 points and lose 50 per death or just -50 per death would be fine as well. The reason for this, I should not be in second place going 5-0 while first place went 6-2. Second I would make a longer game mode that starts you further apart to allow for longer engagements and more strategic play Last little tidbit, maybe add a chat function and game similar to the main menu, but this is not nearly as important as the other two features I mentioned.

Overall, this is a fun little time killer. The graphics are nice, the planes feel fun and satisfying, kills feel rewarding. Sound effects leave a little to be desired (if I’m not in afterburner, I can’t hear my own aircraft) but it’s not gamebreaking. I also appreciate the homage to real-life squadrons, as a plane spotter I find that incredibly neat, with so many plane games on the market that keep it generic.

However, I feel that battles don’t produce enough rewards. You get your XP towards aircraft, but that’s about it. We’re reliant on the free battle pass to get coins (which is the non-premium currency) via loot boxes. I understand that as a company, you need to make money, but I would definitely reconsider the way you currently have your reward system setup. Maybe make some generic skins show up in loot boxes instead of coins and award coins along with plane XP at the end of each match, similar to how War Thunder has their aircraft rewards setup. Then keep the “special” skins (i.e. the ones that represent legitimate squadrons) in the gold currency.

If you’re intimidated or turned off by complex flight simulators, and want the thrill of being in the danger zone, this game is for you. Matches are quick with a pick up to put down time of less than 5-minutes. The controls are satisfying and intuitive, you’ll feel like a flying ace after just 3 rounds.
Initially you are matched against AI and as you progress you will be paired with human players who soon will cut into your 99% win ratio. You can best most players with fully enhanced planes from the first three you unlock and do not need a multibillion dollar money pit racing to the later unlocks to be the best in the sky.
The progression may stall after 6-10hrs of play, however, the game doesn’t require payment to progress or feeling a wall where you are left behind by those who do.
This game is notably in the credits made possible by just a handful of skilled professionals (full disclosure I personally know one of them) and if this game was junk I’d tell him just the same - it is very engaging and impressive.
You won’t feel you’ve wasted your time on this game even if you have no interest in killing other players. Capture the control points and evade your opponents skillfully by hugging mountains and diving through tunnels.

This game is very very brilliant. I love almost everything about it. From the intense dog fights to exploring your capabilities with different aircraft. The graphics are really up there on the 15 pro max and at 60fps it really gives out a smooth gameplay feel. One thing that grind my gears is the missions and the grind for battle pass points. I realized that buying the flight pass was beneficial so I bought it. If you could explain to me how the points system work to achieve battle pass points. Some games I receive them and a lot of games I don’t. So after I ace all of my missions it just slows down and I feel like all of my grinding is into getting trophies for my jets or leveling up for aircraft coins.

Other than that this game is great and I’m an active player every single day! Love it!

I overall love this game, totally reminds me of all the Ace Combat games I used to lay many many years ago, but in a compact handheld device. On top of that you can use a PS4/XBOX one controller as well which adds to the “awesome”. I feel the only bad thing about this game, which isn’t too critical, is the lack of variety of levels. Idk, also one thing I wish it had was air to ground targets like ace combat had. Missions were you have to destroy land targets, but then again this doesn’t have a “campaign” mode and is pvp so I mean I understand. Just think that it would be cool since the way this game operates is fantastic with the graphics, controls and everything in between. I have no issues running this on my iPhone 14 Plus what so ever. Smooth as ever. So I give the game overall 5 stars and compliment the whole team of people who made it possible, the 4 stars is just got lack of levels. Thanks :)

I play DCS and il2 GB on pc. Pretty passionate about military aviation in general.

This game is like ace combat pvp matches but on your smart phone. There’s tons of real world planes and you can upgrade them (it’s like a generic “upgrade” button though. Can’t do specific parts atleast I don’t think ) and than you do 5v5 matches online.

Most games when I play online I just steam roll everyone and it’s apparent I’m playing against mostly bots , they do this to entice you by activating your dopamine reward center in your brain.

This game you can tell your playing against real people.

Gameplay is top notch. Graphics rival ps4 quality (not ps5 but that’s okay) and mostly it’s fun !! They have a ton of planes in the game that you get by unlocking through gameplay. Maybe you can spend actual money to unlock faster but I don’t see an option. I’d pay money if I could use a f22 without having to spend hundreds of hours lol.

I found myself very hesitant to download the game thinking it was one of those bad arcade game ads, but I was so wrong, some aircraft like the f 15 f14 draken MiG 23 flogger and viggen need a serious buff in maneuverability but the game is still in its infancy , so glad to be here early ,the monetary system needs an update for example silver and gold has to be awarded on matches, the medals and trophies system is perfect hope that there are more planes on the way and ground attack modes in the future, please give this game a try and join the discord server everyone is friendly and everyone no matter the skill level will play with you, it gets special when you get to talk and plan tactics before every match and see people on the match flying in formation eating enemies or being against you, enjoy the game and community, cheers!

This is my favorite game to play on my phone, and I love that it works with the BackBone controller. Here the past few days though, the game has been kinda glitching during matches, and it makes the plane lose control for a few seconds, and has been kinda aggravating. Other than that, the only problem that I have with the game is, it takes way to much playing time and points to be able to upgrade to better planes. It takes way to long to build up aircraft tokens, and silver, to get new jets. Plus the fact that it takes both aircraft tokens and silver to upgrade and would be so much better if it was just one ore the other. If these few minor issues were to be fixed, the game would definitely get 5 stars from me.

Been playing for about a month and already at 5000 trophies. I see people complaining about mismatched games of people higher ranked but I feel it’s irrelevant, even at the rank I am there are plenty of times I see the F-5 be mvp. Yes their is times where players are better with some jets then the others but I find them almost all very balanced. Generally if you think the game is unfair, frankly you’re just not very good. Health of the jet, turning speed, turret damage and missile capacity leave each jet with there own advantages. I think the new Su-22 is very strong but again balanced in the sense of only 1 type of tracking missiles and the other being rockets. Only complaint would be to add more maps, besides that I think everything is very smooth and balanced.

Let me start off by saying that the crew over at metal storm is giving it their all for sure. They have a great game format and when the game is functioning, it’s probably hands down one of my favorite pvp’s I’ve played. However, unfortunately the game the last several months has not functioned more then it has functioned. My only advice to people on this game would be, don’t spend any money until they get the instability in the networks fixed. If you want to download and play, by all means, like I stated earlier… when it’s working, it’s incredibly fun… just a shame it’s not working for so many platforms…would have prolly given it 4 stars had I not invested money so soon and waited until networking was fixed. Fair play though, and good luck to that team in the future.

At first play the controls threw me off but could change them to my liking in setting. The graphics are great and the planes are detailed. The maps are a sight for sore eyes for someone coming from Sky Warriors. Been there for a year and the devs there do not listen to the players and have made it clear they are just in it for the $$$. this app is a breath of fresh air where the devs listen and give constant updates to the game. This game is it. One thing that could be fixed for realism would be bouncing off the terrain and keep flying. That’s laughable. Please fix that.

I’m used to playing War Thunder on my computer, so I’ve always been hesitant to play phone flight games on my phone because they don’t compare, or they are pay-to-win. This one is different though. It has a simple hud and controls, the battles are quick and engaging, and the experience is repeatable over and over. The best part though… even the starter plane can hold its own against the more advanced aircraft. It lacks good weaponry, but it makes up for it in maneuverability. So there isn’t a pay-to-win dynamic! Huge fan

I love that this game is skill based and not buy to win. I only use the first fighter plane you can get, and I’m always at the top of the leaderboard due to being crafty with my maneuvers. Sure, there are a lot of players who dump money in this game for 5th gen fighters, but beginners with skills will do well. The only thing bad about this game is how addicting this is. Seriously, I love this game. I just wish their battle pass had a little more to offer like plane paints and other customizable option, I barely wrote reviews but this one deserves it.

Gameplay is awesome! Only complaint is that there are often matchups where my team is up against players that outrank us by OVER 50 levels!! These matches put our entry level aircraft up against the best planes in the game, often picking us off with medium and long range missles before we even know they are there. And the flares dont seem to include chaff so they don’t do anything against radar guided missles since they always hit. Other than those frustrating matchups at times, this is a really good game and does not get old after playing a while.

Edit* the grind is way to high to only get silver ranking up ,should get silver kills* It’s pretty much warthunder but you actually have a chance to get kills and win it’s probably the most fun you’ll have playing a mobile dog fighter game my only problem personally is the stats for the jets are just out of wack I blame top gun movie for their stats here making a 50-60s gen plane better than a F-35 is wild but it’s a game ..minus stats it’s worth a download no need for real money or anything like that to play it’ll keep you busy for sure with out a headache

I’m a daily gamer and need a game that keeps my attention. Metal Storm is a game that has it all. You can compete against anyone at anytime without breaking the bank. Many different Aircraft that you can acquire through grinding and teamwork. It’s fast paced and exciting . There’s plenty of opportunities to slow down and evaluate how to be more successful ! If you like competitive gameplay this is the game for you. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed. Maybe I’ll see you out there! ✌️❤️🙏 The Brightest of Knights!

I remember the days of HAWX and the Ace Combats, Project Wingman, and Crimson Skies, and I still play PW and AC7, but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been so enthralled and excited about a game. I play on iPhone, and even with my antiquated iPhone XR, this game runs beautifully, stutters some but I can’t blame the game. This is an old phone. But the details on the planes and the maneuverability models and weapons details, this is absolutely beyond anything I could’ve hoped for. It’s so absolutely beautiful and fun as any game I’ve ever played. Even thrust vectoring aircraft, ITS MODELED, there are main game titles that don’t do that. This game has absolutely taken over my free time (what little I get). And I have never had more fun. Only thing I’d ding it for is the over the top grinding, not bad but boring, so I’m hoping for some more game modes. Like ground attack missions with the abundance of attack planes, and more of just an impatient me thing, grinding levels for only 10 aircraft credits per level.

All in all, this game is SO FREAKING AWESOME, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time.

I’ve been playing this game for a while and it’s pretty addicting. There are zero adds to interrupt your playing time. Matches are about 5 min in length so you can always get a quick match or two in, if your pressed for time. At first it’s pretty easy to get planes but in order to unlock more planes, you need to either upgrade your current inventory or dig into your wallet and buy some gold. If you upgrade your planes, your competition gets more skilled the higher the level of plane you have. That is one of the negatives to this game. Perhaps, Developers please consider this, making it possible to trade in or sell some of the lower level planes to make upgrading easier???? Other than that I love the game. Jump into a squadron for more rewards also!!

The only thing that needs to be done is to handle the extremely slow progression. I like the challenge of going against people with higher tier aircraft however i don't like that it takes so long to progress through to acquire your desired aircraft. Ive put in quite a bit of time into this game and only hanger lv3(for those that don't know, higher level hanger, the more aircraft you can obtain; each different aircraft has a hanger lv requirement up to 20 for the most effective ones) i just want faster progression. The only one ive been using is the first one because it suits my gameplay more than the other two. I like the more agile aircraft. Tighter turns, feels faster, firepower might be lacking slightly but I'm still a force to be reckoned with. Its just not the aircraft i want to be using. I think hanger lv 16 is where i can get the one im looking for. Anyway! Please make progression easier
