Winno is lacking. I type in basic keywords and nothing shows. At the setup it says there is no agenda, but there obviously is. Gun control, climate change, immigration and a few others are in the suggestions. I looked up Israel and a few others and only one came up, from last year. Are they saying that Israel news came up just one time, and all it was was the election, just once, last year? No other Israel news? No thanks. I’ll stick to Apple News and other news apps where I can choose which news I want to read and get rid of all the agendas and fake news. This is clearly a thumbs down in my book.

Winno is more or less ok and your typical news app. The issue is that its publishers seem to thinking it’s possible to be unbiased or that their content has no slant. Anyone remotely familiar with cognitive science and psychology knows that bias is impossible to avoid. This marketing tactic and mission statement is incredibly dangerous because it tricks people into believing that it’s possible for journalism to be unbiased, while intentionally or unintentionally Trojan horsing bias into the stories, either through the choice of which stories to publish, the prioritization of stories on the feed, the decisions of which news sources are reputable, the selection of which parts qualify for the summary, and the tone and word choices in representing the stories. The goal of an unbiased news source is understandable, but naive and deeply misguided.

Really nice change! I’ve dumped ALL of my other news sources because of the fake/biased news thing. Everything out there is junk!
I have high expectations for this app! I’m hoping the selections of news on this app will expand. Right now the this app news is limited to just a few topics:
#vaping
#top-business
#climate-change
#venezula
#immigration
#jeffrey-epstein
#immigration
#china-us
#space
#syria-conflict
#brexit
#opiod-crisis
#julian-assange
#hk-protests
#abortion
#gun-control
#2020-race
#iran-us
#top-tech
#trump-probes
#top-news
#history-photos
#north-korea
If you don’t like the above topics, this app probably won’t be for you right now, but they do add and remove topics every now and then, so check back often.
#gun-control had only 3 this app articles posted over the past 29 days even though a lot has been going on with gun control lately, so I’m not sure why not much has been posted on this app about #gun-control
1-4 stories on most topics are posted every 1-3 days, so you definitely won’t get too much news thrown at you.
Hoping this app will expand to include many more topic options real soon.
Keep up the good work guys!! 😎🤙🏻

This has been my go-to app for getting news fast. It’s extremely convenient to read the well-put-together sound bites and decide, thereafter, whether to read the associated article or not. Frankly, the idea of Winno is brilliant.
My only complaint would be that some of the topics, like the Trump probe, seem to lean a bit left politically. Lots of left-leaning news sources cited. That’s most news, I suppose, these days. It’s rare to see a conservative news sort cited for anything. And there seems to be a heavier emphasis on left-leaning coverage like abortion, Trump probes, global warming, and the like. I’d love co-equal coverage with some sort of algorithm-based neutral sound bite reporting. All in all, though, keep it up!

I've come to rely on this app as my primary news app. I love being able to follow topics I care about, and know when important developments happen.
My only complaint is that I've experienced the same UI issue for the past several months. Clicking on one topic often opens a different topic. Annoying, but the content more than makes up for this inconvenience that I'm sure will be fixed at some point.

I’m sick and tired of all these garbage news apps using AI to recommend me articles just so I click on them and they make a profit. I love that with this app (great name btw) I don’t have to deal with any clickbait titles or scroll through an entire article just to realize it’s a bunch of fluff. The focused categories are great for when I want to follow a single developing news story and not worry about everything going on in a topic as broad as Politics, for example. Winno is like the best parts of Axios + Twitter + traditional news combined.

The editorial team does an awesome job at only showing “just the facts”.
With all the opinion heavy nonsense in the news today, I’ve been looking for a way to stay updated without all the bias. This is it.
The interface is well designed, Winno is really well coded, the content is of good quality, and I appreciate the links to read more. I really appreciate all the hard work going into this. Look forward to reading more.

I highly recommend this app. It’s so easy to customize your feed to your liking. I love being able to follow up on important topics like climate change and trump-probes with confidence, knowing the articles on here are 100% real and not BS fear mongering.
If you’re looking for a way to break out of the Fox News / CNN clown show, please check out this app!
It is truly the future of news!

This is exactly Winno I was looking for. I like having short updates on the news for those days or weeks I’m a little more busy than usual.
I’ve only had one issue with it: sometimes when I click on a feed it brings up the wrong one, as if I clicked on a different one. Not sure why it does this, but it’s not a huge issue.

I’m not someone who has time (or the interest) to search multiple news outlets to get my information, so before this app I barely kept up to date with the news. Winno makes it so easy to follow topics that interest you in tiny doses which you can easily read about through the in-app links to the sources. I also love the #history-photos feed it’s great.

Winno perfectly suits my needs as a consumer who wants unbiased and quickly-summarized news. It’s free, has a simple and attractive UI, and streamlines all the important headlines you want to read. I recommend this to all my peers and would even pay money for it if I needed to. Heck, if they asked, I’d probably even donate just to help support the team.

Just installed it yesterday, and Winno is already helping me stay informed without having to plunge headfirst into the news cycle and be bombarded with all the panicky clickbait headlines.
I’ll still go read the NYT, WaPo, New Yorker, fivethirtyeight, etc., when I have the time and appetite for a nuanced and well-reasoned point of view, but I have a feeling an app like this can help me stay informed without all the angst and cynicism the pundits want me to feel so I’ll sort myself into their tribe and vote from my hindbrain.
this app, my sanity thanks you.
Now what we need is a news outlet that can accurately report science news. Even the very best journalists haven’t yet figured out how to read an abstract.

Short review: So good I want to pay money for it!
Long review: this app checks all the boxes for good news as well as good software: Clear, Organized, Factual, Non-Partisan, and doesn’t require too much personal data. My one request is to feature a premium option so that my email or phone number is not needed to use Winno .

This is my first review on Winno Store after holding an iPhone as a consumer for over ten years. If I could rate Winno higher, I would. I get most of my headlines and alerts from this app, and it truly is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in keeping up with breaking news. Keep up the great work!

I get news blasts from the NYT, apple news, and CNN, but in my opinion this app outshines them in keeping you updated and informed. The short notifications are very easily consumable, and you aren’t spammed with a bunch of blasts because you can choose what you want to follow. Would def recommend.
