Alif: Arabic for Beginners Reviews

I’m learning Arabic and recommended this to my classmates because I thought Alif was great but the bugs that completely short-change Alif . First of all, you can’t use the sound because it doesn’t work. This is pretty crucial for someone who is isn't a native speaker and needs to hear those sounds. Second of all, I completed certain levels but can’t continue onto the next ones, meaning Alif is totally useless to me now.

I really like Alif but I have it 3 stars because those bugs are a big deal.

Alif is very useful but one thing it bugs is the sound of words that doesn’t work often i trued in others phones same problem . hope it gets fixed.

Considering that right now all I’m trying to teach my child is the Arabic vowels, this is a great new app. For the next update, I’d highly recommend an audio clip for the quiz portion. “Which one is ta” “which one is bi” “which one is du” etc. I realize this is geared towards adults but (!!!) it’s simplicity makes it great even for kids.

Thank you for the great apps to make us if Allah willing learn about the “simple Arabic”(Quran) language.
Although because I know Farsi it is an advantage but I’m sure those devoted to Allah if Allah willing find anything from Quran inspiring and an advantage.

I’m using Alif to help learn how to read the Maronite liturgical books, and it’s been great for learning the letters. That’s all it claims to do, and not much more. It works well!

Alif used to work for me before. Now I can’t sign in or reset the password so I can’t go beyond Chapter 1. I really liked it before as it is a format my young children can easily understand. They are three and six years old. I hope this gets fixed soon!

App is a fun way to learn Arabic letters but do not log-out or you will need a new email in order to login again to access most features.

I am stuck on chapter two lesson 4 and even after I got next, it doesn’t unlock the next lesson for me.

I have learned and finished all the chapters with ease Allhamdullilah and I hope that many others are able to utilize Alif like i did. Very nice and it helped me re learn what i forgot.

No audio available today to learn sounds which is most important! How else to know if making right phonetics. How can this issue be corrected? I have tried twice to Sign out and then back in and switched off my phone then back on again but still no audio.

This is the best free app yet. Would like to see me chapters in the future with paragraphs. Other than that the best app in the store. Thank you and may Allah reward you for your kindness.

Highly effective and fun way to engage the Arabic writing system as a beginner. Would recommend to any in the same position as me!

The audio works great with good pronunciation then it just stops working.

Please fix it

I finished all the chapters and I believe there’s only 3? I already knew the letters/basics but Alif helped to visualize the letters in words!! I just wish it covered the entire Arabic alphabet.

The best app I have found to learn the alphabet, it just would have helped to fix that audio bug ( no sound)

Great app! Really helping me with the alphabet and combined letters but the sound isn’t working which makes it harder to learn pronunciation especially in Ch 2. Fix and then 5 stars!

I love Alif because it’s what I was looking for to polish up on my vowels so I can be familiar with them and test each one, but it only unlocked up to 9.. incomplete student here.

Alif is perfect for learning Arabic but in want more content for Alif so I could learn more arabic

please inform in the explanation that a sign up is required to continue the second and further lessons. Otherwise Alif has a good potential.

Would easily get more stars if the sound was functional. Two stars for potential but without hearing pronunciation Alif can’t really be used. Not sure if it isn’t implemented or if it’s a bug.

The sound is not workings. Kinda was looking forward to Alif, but without the sound it’s hard to use.

Alif could be better by helping teach sounds of alphabet first and memorizing then moving on but instead of starts at intermediate assuming you already know alphabet

I can’t sign up... It keeps saying “An internal error has occurred, print and inspect the error details”

This is just a technical error and I’m sure afterwards I can return to give Alif 5 stars.

I really wanted to love Alif and use it so I can help my little sister learn Arabic, so I wish you fix this soon.
