My account was denied. After contacting customer service multiple times (during their extremely limited hours) I was told that the security security team reviewed my account and they couldn’t open it. There was nothing they could do.

No option to figure out what the issue was and try and correct it. Just another company trying to collect personal information. 0 stars.

I recently attempted to sign up with Lively, but both their app and website failed to process my registration, repeatedly giving an error. When I reached out to their support team, I received a vague and unhelpful response: "Upon review by our security team, we are unable to open a Lively HSA for you and we have no further information for you." There was no reasoning provided for this decision. This lack of transparency and professionalism is concerning and makes it clear that this company is not trustworthy. I strongly advise others to stay away from this company.

I tried to use Lively for my medical expenses and high deductible health plan. The investing options don’t interest me, I am sick today and need to use my lively card. After depositing $3k and one month later and the debit card still doesn’t work. I have to upload receipts and reimburse myself paying myself out of a different pocket that is mine but now I don’t have access to. Everyone is eligible for one roll out check to switch HSA providers only once a year so I’m making my next choice to move carefully.

Please read their privacy policy. You cannot opt out of tracking on their website and LivelyBenefits is a privacy nightmare. Why do you need my fitness info? From their website..
“ We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that might enable Users to opt out of tracking on our Site.”

Remember if it’s free… you are the product.

I’m not impressed with the investment portion of this website/ HSA. When setting it up your goals you toggle between answers and I can’t get it to my exact age or set accurately in any of the other metrics. And after several months in the managed investing all that has happened is that I’ve lost money. I keep hoping I get back to even and then I’m pulling my money out!

Overall LivelyBenefits is functional but my experience thus far has been super slow access to funds deducted from my bank account being available to invest and super slow transfer of additional funds to my chosen brokerage. It’s frustrating if one is trying to manage money but my guess is that they use the float to boost profits. Not all is as it seems.

I was excited and impressed when I first started using the Lively app. Now after almost 3 months of using it, I have lost access to my info 2x.
It is currently down for the second time. The first time it took 2 emails, a call, and a week to get access to my info. When I called this second time, they said they know it was down on apple products. They were working on it but had no estimate of when I would have access to my info again. Very disappointing.

For some reason, on both LivelyBenefits and the website, I can’t type in the value field.

The first time was adding a $ amount to maintain in the account before sweeping to be invested. I had to call in and have them do it from their end.

Now I can’t type a value in the “one-time contribution” field. No matter what numbers I press the field refused to input anything. Now I’ll have to call again…

I messaged your help people like every few weeks because they don’t know how to fix this problem. I still cannot get my Face ID working at all and they told me to update my app and everything like that last few weeks I have and there’s no updates for until today and it still not working it all. My company is using your app every freaking day and I would tell them soon it’s not working.

Edit - still usually having me do 2 puzzles but that’s way better than 6. Face ID still should be sufficient, and I’d rather have 2FA than the stupid puzzles, but it’s better than before.

Before the last update, I’d have given LivelyBenefits 5 stars. However it’s basically unusable now as every login has 6 puzzles to prove I’m a human. Face ID + 2FA worked fine… we don’t need these very time consuming captchas every single login. I’ll be using the website for now, and will start looking for a new HSA provider for 2025.

I haven t enjoyed Lively and it s low fee structure, ability to invest, and LivelyBenefits is solid. The improvement for them needs to be in the transaction time. In this day and age, there is no reason it should take so long for a withdrawal from your bank account to hit your Lively HSA. Otherwise, i ve been very happy with everything, including their customer service. Thanks - Look forward to more speedy progress!

Incredible features, no fees, TD/Schwab investing, Lively is a fantastic HSA. The only reason I took a point off is their auth and spiral galaxy captcha nonsense just make it harder to use for no good reason. Bad decisions like that always make me wonder where else they’re going to make bad decisions, hopefully it’s just a rogue PM or engineer doing something stupid and the rest of the service stays great.

…still does not work despite everything being updated. Might as well remove this ‘feature’ from LivelyBenefits . Otherwise, love the company for its low fees, Schwab integration allowing me to manage my money, and just the overall nice interface to track my contributions (and spending although I don’t use these funds for medical expenses). Came from HSA Bank years ago whom raised their minimum account requirement to $1000 that had to be maintained and only paid .01% but the fees eroded that required balance. Keep up the great work and low fees Lively!!

Does not recognize my password on iPad Pro 11”. Sometimes it teases and get as far as identify these objects in the picture. LivelyBenefits on my 2 different model iPhones works normal. Way to go Lively app team, after this May 2021 update my iPad Pro can use LivelyBenefits since it recognizes my password. Thanks!

This feature was the easiest way I have ever done an HSA trustee to trustee transfer. All I had to do was know my old HSA account number and the bank (of course I had to liquidate my old accounts investments but you have to do that for a rollover anyway). Couple of clicks, the form was filled out for me all I had to do was an electronic signature. Less than 5 mins. The last time I had to do a rollover it took months, and paperwork. Lively’s way is the best I’ve ever seen.

It’s so easy to use. I can upload receipts and do reimbursements requests very easily. They can sometimes help me with things I miss. Definitely worth it

Fairly easy to use app, much better system than my former HSA. It could be more intuitive. For instance having a button on the opening page for a contribution would help.

Everything about Lively HSA has been fantastic. I am so appreciative for their website and app’s simple design. The connection with TD Ameritrade is seamless and the customer service has been above expectations. Their regular informational newsletters are even more helpful. This company has completely changed my healthcare savings/investment habits. Thank you Lively!

They recently added a puzzle challenge in order to log into your account. You have to match 6 puzzles before it allows you access. It’s time consuming and extremely annoying, reverting to biometric face detection like every other app should be sufficient. It’s a one star app at this point.

Edit: The security login has now been fixed thank you for taking care of this.

LivelyBenefits is easy to use, and you can upload a receipt right up front, unlike so many financial apps that don’t allow a receipt until the charge is no longer “pending”.
