Could not connect to my 6D M2 using iphone 12

I tried but failed to connect my iphone 12 to 6dm2. The only message it shows is need to change camera wifi settings and thats it. No other explanation on how to do it. Hello not everyone can guess what you need others to do in their camera and it only shows that messages. You need to be specific on the steps you want others to do. Even connection instruction is minimal. When you startup CameraConnectControl it only shows the scanning and nothing more.

No Liveview -Canon 80D via USB

Downloaded and on 1st day for free trial. USB cord between Canon 80D and iPadPro M1. Upon launch, sees my Canon 80D and it asks connection type, select USB and app goes right to image transfer screen. No option to go to Liveview. Support compatibility says Canon 80D is pro level support so should be able to get Liveview but no instructions on how to get to LiveView. I specifically wanted CameraConnectControl because Canon’s app can only do WiFi connection, I need usb connection. Good thing I did not pay for this right away.
Developer says to start the Trial, which I did…. I see in a prior issue that iOS version does not support USB connection so that must be why I only see file transfer and no otherootiobs like LiveView and use iPad as a second monitor…. Canon Connect onky uses wifi so I know the connection is bad to Canon 80D… with no usb options, CameraConnectControl useless to me.

It doesn’t even work and when I share the photos it comes out bad quality for others

I use CameraConnectControl to download my photos from my camera, like most people that have CameraConnectControl downloaded.

It wasn’t the best since every time I shared these photos it came out with bad quality but it got the job done.

For some reason now, whenever I try to connect my camera to CameraConnectControl, it says no wifi connected when it clearly has a connection. I can’t do anything since it “doesn’t have a connection” and manual connection doesn’t work either.

Useless

I’ve tried to use CameraConnectControl SEVERAL times and it just won’t work correctly. After 3 hours of trying it worked to upload 3 pics out of 67, and then quit. It’s also constantly telling me to configure my WiFi settings, of which, I’ve done 4 times. CameraConnectControl is useless, slow, and a waste of money. In this day and age I shouldn’t have to wait for hours for it to connect and transfer my pics. I’m a Photographer on a budget and I’m about to request a refund bc CameraConnectControl is trash.

The developer decided to ignore my SEVERAL requests for a refund, so now I’m having to dispute the charge through Apple. DO NOT BUY CameraConnectControl!!

I’ve requested a refund SEVERAL times and the developer refuses to issue a refund for an app THAT DOESN’T WORK!!!!!!

Waste

2 stars for the simple function of transfer photos to your phone. That’s the only thing you’re allowed to do for free. I’m not signing up for a trial that can automatically charge me after 3 days...so I don’t even know what other features CameraConnectControl offers. You could at least make faux buttons that have a “CCC Pro” overlay on them so we at least know what’s available. Go ahead and give me a snarky response. You need to offer people a little more of a peek in order to reel them in.

Unclear what camera models are supported

Can CameraConnectControl provide Liveview and related recording controls via USB connection to the Canon Vixia HF R800 camera? While I don’t see evidence that it doesn’t, I’m not able to access any Liveview controls in the 3-day Trial version of CameraConnectControl. So far, using iPad Pro as the mobile device, I can only see recorded videos (playback mode), but nothing else. All of the Settings are enabled for all access, including the setting to “enable Liveview”.

Really good app and simple

I did enjoy CameraConnectControl and how simple it was to setup. Every featured worked on the Canon R7. I was able to control all parameters from the phone and lag was little to none when using a USB Cable. I tried wifi and I was actually surprised on how latency. It was much faster then I expected.

One thing I wish I had was live view full screen mode.

Camera Connect and Control with Nikon D750

I think this is a wonderful and useful app for someone who needs it occasionally. For it price ( I bought the Pro version immediately) it does everything I need. I tried the free Nikon WMU app and its pretty useless so I got what I paid for.

I pretty much figured everything out through reading my manual, watching the video and trial and error. There is no user manual and I believe none planned which is too bad since there are some things I just don’t understand in the filters menu.

Would give it 5 stars is there was a user guide or manual so I wouldn’t have to spend so much time searching online.

Please help

Hey I have tested CameraConnectControl and it was amazing, thought a huge problem I wanted to purchase it but since it passed like a month or so without using it my phone deleted CameraConnectControl automatically but when I came back to actually purchased it a message popped up saying I need to connect to the camera at least once. But I can’t connect it anymore due to my free trial being over… is there a work around this problem??

Does the job

I downloaded CameraConnectControl because my other cannon connect app stopped working. CameraConnectControl uploads the pictures to my phone but not the videos. I can’t get the videos to load or save to my camera roll. My pictures turn out great though! CameraConnectControl doesn’t cause blurs or glitches. Some pictures do take a long time to load though. But CameraConnectControl does get the work done!

Where is Live View and camera control?

I finally got the wireless to work and got the free trial. But I see no option for actually “controlling “ the camera. Nikon Z50. Photos show up, but I see no option for Live View. Will gladly change review if I can find the option to do that.

Got it, thanks.
Needed to repurchase the trial as it didn’t register the first time.

I can’t seem to figure out where the photos that are displayed are located on the Ipad.
They aren’t in the Apple Files location and they still show up after I have deleted them from camera.
Are they stored in some unknown folder in CameraConnectControl ?
Liking CameraConnectControl so far, may purchase if I can figure out the file management system.

IPTC data

The Camera Connect & Control app works great with Canon R3 and R5 cameras when connected to an iPhone via a USB-C cable. The only problem is that all the IPTC data stored in the camera gets lost from the images. Is there any way to work around this issue?

An Ok app ☺️

I am currently trying the 3 day trial !
I have a Canon Rebelt5 , and Using CameraConnectControl on an Ipad . Works okay ,
Sometimes it struggles to find the camara but it does , i would say great to use as a monitor to take pictures , you will see if your camara is focus plus your canara settings! It does the job ! **but when it saves the pics in CameraConnectControl they are pixelated BAD ! , but it does not affect at the moment of capture or quality in the real sd card , so when you pass the pics to your ipad/phone they are GREAT!
VIDEO ; i did not like how once i started to Film , the quality in CameraConnectControl turned YELLOW , & once again in the sd card they are fine minus , some lines glitching that you can see in the video , if i dont use CameraConnectControl to film videos it does good , so its CameraConnectControl . Or idk there .

Nikon Z6II user

I’ve been using this for 2 months now, primarily to get RAWs from the camera to my iPad. I haven’t used any of the control features even though I have the paid version, but CameraConnectControl does, very simply, what Nikon seems unwilling to do with Snapbridge, and that is just make it simple and easy.
I connect using Wi-Fi only, connection is fast, downloads are fast and it just simply works every single time.
Thanks to the dev for getting this out there and making my life easier.

Great app

This is a great app. It works for me as a external monitor for my photography and it works fine with WiFi .It is way better then before I use camera contact with Nikon z6. I notice it’s getting better as developer fixing all small issues. Their aren’t any crashes.
But I have two questions:
I don’t see camera connect app on MacBook Pro and is it possible if we can us CameraConnectControl with hard wired both on iPhone & MacBook Pro?
Thank you for your hard work 👍🏻

Works well

My Nikon D5600 has a built-in intervalometer, but the maximum exposure is 30 seconds. I need longer exposures for astrophotography. CameraConnectControl does it so easily. Turn on camera WiFi, connect your phone to that WiFi, hit settings in lower right, set bulb long exposure time and number of pictures. Done. One question: does the camera still need the connection to app once it starts taking pictures? Or once the command is sent, can the camera independently take a series of pictures?

It transfers images from my Canon to my iPhone

It transfers images from my Canon 4000D to my iPhone SE. I worked for hours with the Canon app before giving up on it. I had no problems connecting with the WiFi and working with the Canon & iPhone using CameraConnectControl. I was not trying to do a lot with it, no videos or live stuff. What I did was shoot pictures outside with the Canon, then I came back in the house and got on the Canon’s WiFi which was shown on my iPhone settings and I got on CameraConnectControl which is on my iPhone and viola! I selected the pics to save to the iPhone photo album. Don’t be sidetracked by “No internet connection” ignore that. So anyway I compared photos from the iPhone to the imports from the Canon and found the Canon pics were slightly better, despite having been sent through WiFi. I got the Canon 4000D expressly for astrophotography and I had to have WiFi capability. So a few minutes ago I got the $24 (I think it was) package. Because it works for me. Does what I need.

Amazing APP

I am not the kind of guy who will take the time to write reviews, but CameraConnectControl is a lifesaver for me and I am so grateful to have it for my work. Gotta give some love and respect.

I’ve used Canon gear for years, and part of the reason was the Camera Connect app from Canon was so superior to Nikon‘s version. I tried the CamRanger, which is a pretty good system and recently a couple of other hardware based wi-Fi solutions.

With my new Nikon Z camera I was back to torturing myself with SnapBridge or tripping over a tether until I read about CameraConnectControl. To be able to set a WiFi connection to my iPad Pro and then open the pro version of ccc and just go to work is incredible.

With SnapBridge, once you are connected the camera controls no longer function. You have to close the connection if you want to shoot some hand-held shots. Then make another connection to go back to APP Control.

With the CCC APP, I can take the camera off the tripod and swap to a macro lens for some close-ups, without losing my connection. I can select the film strip view and blow up the last image and as I shoot with the camera the images download to the iPad, fill the screen and can be heavily zoomed farther.

Just Awesome.

If you are struggling with dropped connections (mine are rock solid) make sure your camera isn’t timing out. Find the auto-off menu and set it to “never.” You may want to buy a couple of extra batteries.....

lifesaver

at a time where my class project was due the NEXT DAY, and all of the footage was on my Canon t7 and no available cordage, i was truly relieved to have found such a useful app that had the capabilities that i needed (simply downloading and sharing .mov files). still, CameraConnectControl was a total lifesaver and id recommend it to anyone in my position.

Pls read if astrophotographing

I’m loving CameraConnectControl, I paid the $11 it’s so worth it, so I have the canon 4000d that I have been using for astrophotography, only problem is it doesn’t have a intervalometer, CameraConnectControl does on the bottom right hand side and it works for my camera too. I had a problem connecting to the camera but fixed it, if your camera is connected to the canon connect app it won’t connect to CameraConnectControl so what I had to do was go into my camera settings and reset the WiFi settings then manually connect the WiFi to the phone, once connected I go into CameraConnectControl and it connects within a few seconds, down side but not really a down side is once I do that I cannot go and use the canon connect app again, but considering that the live view does not lag out on me, I have a intervalometer inside CameraConnectControl and it works like a charm, and I can still download photos from the camera to the phone while still connected there is no need to have the canon connect app on the phone it’s pointless, love CameraConnectControl keep up the good work
