Remote control for LG Reviews

I might be missing something, but Remotecontrol is a waste. In my case, the blu-ray player has to be on the same network as Remotecontrol on the phone. Who dedicates an independent hardwired connection directly to the network for a legacy blu-ray player? That’s absurd. I’m not going to worry with that, going backwards 10 years just so I can then access it from my phone. I imagine doing what people really want from an app like this and the millions of pointless duplicates is hindered by protocols or something, but there’s got to be a better way. I want to connect it with HDMI and then be able to control the device from my phone and access it like any other components (sound bar, TV, AppleTV, cable, Roku). Is that not possible? Maybe not considering the concept of a truly universal smart phone remote app, though desperately wanted, seems to be unattainable though people keep downloading things like this which infer they do something similar in a technologically relevant way. They do not.

Dog chewed up the second remote so I just decided to download a bunch of free ones to test them out for my LG tv. Half of them had really annoying ads, the other half wanted $5 subscriptions lol. This one has ads but I’ve seen maybe a handful of them in my time using it (3ish weeks) and none of them are those videos ads you have to wait for, you just press X and go back to using the remote. If you’re taking the time to read these reviews and don’t wanna spend any money but have a useable app, just grab this one it’s fine

This is hands down the best one I’ve used. When my daughter lost our remote I tried about 6 other apps and had to delete them right away. They would go to a commercial as soon as you would press one button and that was just crazy and you couldn’t use it but Remotecontrol even lets you pick the remote that you had previously and it has all the exact same buttons. Perfect. Does have ads but you can click out of them.

My LG remote was nowhere to be found. My daughter likely left it somewhere in our room, but since I wasn’t in the mood to tear my room apart to try to find it. I figured I’d search for an alternative, which would eliminate the need to search for a remote ever again. Well I chose Remotecontrol namely because of the first review I read and I figured it would to the job. Remotecontrol connected my tv and my iPhone pretty quick. However, I quickly noticed all these pop-ups which I had to keep closing before I could access the remote. This was disappointing since I thought the $4.99 would limit ads. It was only after a few minutes and a few selections that the up and down buttons weren’t working. I do not recommend Remotecontrol .

First I have to get my TV and phone on the same WiFi, which sounds fine at first, but if you change addresses that can be a nightmare. Then it takes forever to authenticate. Then after dealing with the authentication process and loading screens, I make it a handful of clicks within Remotecontrol before an ad is thrown up over my entire screen, bringing me to some stupid webpage just so I can close out of THAT, all to finish changing the volume on my TV.
1. They should have a Bluetooth option, this would circumvent any issues with WiFi, and the authentication process.
2. I understand ads are an important source of revenue, but keep them to the border of the screen, pop-up ads are for spam emails.

Works really well with my LG smart tv. Able to control my kids tv from downstairs and put Netflix on and change the volume and whatever else I want from my phone. Since we kept losing remote controls and not being able to find them this solution worked so much better. Thanks for providing Remotecontrol it’s worked out nicely.

I’ve used other remote Apps & this one is Best hands down. Easy to connect and use. Exact replica of actual remote. Ads are short and infrequent. I couldn’t be more pleased as my remote is constantly glitching in & out of this dimension! 😉

Remotecontrol is okay in some cases like when at least some of the buttons work but lately only the the volume button and a few arrow buttons are working. The only ones I really need are the arrow buttons, the power button, the home button, and the OK button. Only some of the arrow buttons work and the volume is but that is all. It might just be a problem for me though. I haven’t read any reviews on this issue but all I know is that it needs to be fixed. I loose my remote very easily and Remotecontrol would be way more helpful if this was solved.

It’s so frustrating to be using the remote and get constantly interrupted by ads! Also you can’t even turn the tv on with the remote app and it has to be connected to WiFi to work. Then sometimes it doesn’t even work so you have to close completely out of it and reopen it . Remotecontrol made me want to order a real remote for my tv just so I didn’t have to use it anymore . Horrible.

Works great can use it just like the real remote thanks so much adds get annoying and would pay to use it without ads so I don’t have to wait but great app

I got the free version. It has a picture of my Blu-ray remote. I opened Remotecontrol and it immediately got caught in my ad blocker. I have no issues with buying an ad-free app that works, but I don’t want to waste money on one that doesn’t.
This one says that the device needs to be on my WiFi network. I think that my blu-ray player doesn’t have WiFi access , so it would not work with Remotecontrol. I have rated it 1 Star because it hits me with ads so quickly I can’t even find out.

It is useful but not so friendly. Once in a while the ads pop while you’re still navigating the remote.
And if you lock your phone and need to go back to the remote, you will always need to refresh because some of the buttons not working.
Wish it could be better.

Remotecontrol is ok when you first use it but after a week or so Remotecontrol gets horrible the ads and everything won’t let you connect to the internet even though your connected and everything Remotecontrol is just a waste if you think about getting it

You can go to the homepage/streaming options and adjust your volume/ change channel etc. JUST like you would with your regular remote!
The unfortunate part is the ads but it gets the job done!

Remote looks identical to the one I have, but only about half of the functions work. Seems that all the ones on the left side work (except turning back on) with the ones on the right not working - channel changing, guide, etc.

Remote work good. Only complaint is ads that pop up continuously while trying to use the remote. More than annoying.

Everything works like your normal remote except for holding the numbers for quick access. Otherwise fantastic app for An LG remote.

It’s amazing. A few quarks is, that sometimes adds play. But that’s fine. The only peeve I have is. If you leave Remotecontrol and go back into it it says reconnect but, it doesn’t. But if you close Remotecontrol it’s self it’s fixed. Over all great app!!!

Remotecontrol works terrible. I thought it didn’t at first, so I decided to support the creator by buying the Ads thing. Right after doing that, Remotecontrol literally stops connecting to my TV. What a waste of money, I want my refund.

It won’t stop saying “connection attempt failed” even though my TV is in front of my wifi and both devices are connected to it.

Enter button doesn't work on any of the controllers it offers

While this remote does detect my tv, after being idle for a period of time, I have to force close and reopen to reconnect in order to do anything. If you use to simply go to a certain channel or not in a hurry to adjust volume, it works great.

Doesn’t work all the time. Sometimes does. Sometimes it doesn’t! 😩

It’s impossible to get to the channel you want through all the pop-up ads. There are other apps that will work better and easier!

It would not detect my unit—even though I got right in front of it. I found a picture of my remote in the Selection section, tried to connect and nothing. Lost my remote so unit is worthless without it. Really disappointing!

Requires TV to be connected to WiFi to use...which would be fine, if, you know, I could connect to WiFi, which requires the REMOTE, the reason I downloaded Remotecontrol .

Only works for Smart TVs connected to WiFi. False information. Why have one remote listed as smart tv and this as normal and require internet???

Does not work consistently. Constantly stops working. I have to close it out then re-open Remotecontrol .

Will not detect my LG TV while other apps in Remotecontrol Store do detect it immediately so its not my TV or network. Had hopes of better design but completely useless.

Only downloaded for the keyboard function, but it doesn't work.
