Awful

Buggy, unintuitive AI. It appears the starting payout of 4500 doesn’t cover the purchase of a single property in the entire world, forcing you to either buy UPX, or attempt their ridiculous “treasure hunt”.

You can only get a sense of the general direction of this treasure if your “adventure trail” or whatever it’s called is near the building you’ve tapped on. Too bad your little wandering camera wanders into the ocean! No real estate to tap on in THE OCEAN. The whole thing with the wandering pieces makes no sense.

These issues don’t compare to the main one I ram into during my 30 minutes of suffering. The worst part was plots of property barely loaded, so you’d be staring at an empty screen where there should be land. Every time you move to a different spot on the map you gotta spend 5 seconds (at least) waiting (hoping) that the buildings appear. I thought Upland had potential to be enjoyable, now I’m wondering how it’s garnered any following at all. Complete disappointment, waste of time, and annoyance.

If you’re not willing to pay to play, PASS

This looks like a great game. It has a great concept and the I can only imagine what I could do with more coins. You have to acquire a net worth of over 10,000 coins to move out of “Visitor” status and become an “Uplander”. But that’s the problem; you’re gifted 3,000 or 6,000 coin to start and the minimum property value is ~2,400 coin. If your property accrues 1-2 coin/day (what my two are) it will take MONTHS, to achieve the 10,000 coin level. Full game function (the marketplace where you can buy/sell/trade properties) doesn’t become available until you cross that threshold. At the moment, the only way to get more coins is the wait (an exorbitant amount of time, seriously, do the math at 2 coins per day, needing 2,600 more coins would take 3 and 1/2 YEARS), OR you can BUY coins.

Great game, amazing process, bravo for putting together an awesome app where the blockchain integrates to real world assets. Needs serious attention to gameplay for beginners.

Everything about this game screams “PLAY ME!!” But I can’t. I can’t buy anything else, I can’t sell or trade what I already have, I can’t fill any more collections to generate coins faster, I can’t do anything but collect a few coins a day but at this point, I’ll probably just come back weekly to renew my earning timeline or cut my time lost, delete Upland and let what I have cycle back into the system for someone who wants to pay to play. Shame.

Nothing but issues

This game is ridiculous. It has been issue upon issue from the start and customer service is an absolute joke. Most recently, when it came time to renew my visa the game was under construction so it was impossible for me to do so. I reached out to customer service and explained that it was an issue on their end that caused me to not be able to renew, as I literally couldn’t get into the game. Their response, after me contacting them twice because they completely ignored my response the first time they emailed me, was basically “too bad, nothing we can do”. This is just the latest of issues with the game that the team has been “unable” to resolve. This game is more trouble than it’s worth and I’m over it.

Update in regard to developer response: the screen did not say “down for maintenance, only lasts 5 minutes to an hour” it said the game was unavailable. Obviously I didn’t know to check back in 5 minutes to an hour, but I DID immediately contact support to let them know I couldn’t renew my visa, and then had to follow up a second time after 6 days without a response. Which is when they responded right away with “maintenance only lasts a day so we can’t help you”, regardless of the fact that I reached out to them the second I encountered the issue.

Actively tries to make you spend money

I made an account on here about 9 months ago to see if it was possible to become a full member without spending money. They provide you with about 5,000 upx (the fake currency) so you can buy a property to begin with. The main goal (in the beginning at least) is to try and have a net worth of 10,000 so you can be a full member. The core way to get money is to convince people to stop by your property, where you can earn a whopping 5 upx per visit. The issue is unless you’re actively engaging with the community, you’ll only get about 3 upx per property per week. The main issue is that the closer you are to becoming a visitor without giving the developers money, the harder they make it for you. They provide daily login bonuses until you have about 7,000 upx. Then, they cut you off without any warning or explanation. The other obstacle they throw at you is the visa weekly login requirement. If you don’t log in every week (as a temporary visitor) your account and properties get deleted. The game kindly provides you with a weekly notification when your visa is about to expire. Of course, they stop warning you as soon as you get 8,000 upx. Overall not an enjoyable experience, but I’m thankful I didn’t spend any money on this “game”

Horrible

Game is broken for new players. You start off with 4500 UPX but every property costs 10k+. I just started and can’t buy a single property without spending real cash. Daily login seems to be 50 UPX, so that’s useless. From the reviews I read with this same issue, the developer says to participate in events…. Not the greatest start for a new player not even knowing what an “event” entails. Just from what I’ve seen in the game, there seems to be a major issue with using this blockchain in game. Don’t know what it is but I know sketchy when I see it. There’s FSA properties that cost 10 million+ near properties that cost 15k, prices are all out of wack and it doesn’t make sense. Game is absolutely broken and I have a feeling this is a blockchain that plans to do something sketchy if the crypto ever goes on the market.

Here is what I think is going on. New players start playing the game and receive their 4500 UPX (which is like mining the crypto). The players for some reason need to extend their “visas” once a week or risk losing all their assets. The new players can’t buy any properties and end up quitting the game quickly. Guess who gets to keep the 4500 UPX. The developers. Seems like this is their way of mining and getting loads of coins to sell if the crypto ever goes live.

Earn rate

I purchased a “property” in-game for around 2300 UPX. I only earn about .15 UPX per 3h from that property, so monthly that would be around 46 UPX.
The issue arises when I look at requirements to become a full fledged “Uplander” which is a steep requirement of 10,000 UPX. And being an Uplander is the only way you can even trade properties. The only way I can think to earn that amount, without making it pay-to-win, is to use the treasure chest system that allows you to accrue more UPX. But it’s limited to your current rank or status such as: Visitor, Uplander, Pro, Director, Executive, and Chief Executive. Each rank containing more and more privileges, bonuses, and other items. These ranks seem impossible to achieve without purchasing UPX with USD.
It’s a wonderfully approached idea, but the silver lining is looking dark. I’m excited to see what changes will be made to Upland . I will continue to try and leave visitor status without paying out of pocket. Thank you for the time and consideration.

You will lose money

Just to be clear, if you purchase their token, UPX then purchase anything in game with it then try to sell that same thing for USD you will lose money. This game grew on the backs of hackers using their knowledge to gain an unbalanced advantages to screw over new and unknowing users. I warned the community that this would drive away users, and it did. Then they modified their economic rules and rewards. I warned the community that this would crash the secondary market, and it did. this app uses log in bonuses (not even worth the time spent logging in) to manipulate their daily active users data. Probably to convince investors to finance them and corporate partners to join them. (My guess) I did very well on this platform because I got in early but the good days are gone and not coming back. It’s a supply and demand issue and this app inflates the supply without any efficient marketing efforts to increase the demand. In the end this app encouraged the hackers to screw the other players to build the platform and now the market is dead. RIP this app. Play (invest) if you want. I’m just trying to share my knowledge and experience so you can make an informed decision.

Great idea, absolutely terrible execution.

The overall idea behind this game is a great one. You get enough UPX (the currency in the game to buy one property which is nice but the rest of the time you are waiting around for hours just to get a percentage of a single UPX as your dividends while each property costs at least 2500 UPX. Playing this game without paying to buy more UPX is literally impossible unless you want to sit around for months possibly even a year to get enough for just one more property and then you’re back in the same boat just getting a small percentage of the 2 properties you own.

Absolutely terrible execution from the game player’s point of view but great execution on the game maker’s point of view because they know there are suckers out there willing to pay over and over again just to get in the leaderboards. Definitely not worth your time unless you have actual money to blow in real life and want to waste it on a game that you get no satisfaction in except for being the “best” in a game where it’s impossible for everyone else to even have a chance at even being decent.

Potential But Have To Pay To Play

I spent some money to get a few extra properties. The rate at which you get rent income from them is probably realistic. So it’s going to take me months of checking every 3 hours for a few months to be able to afford another property. Now somebody can buy my properties but everybody who isn’t spending $$$ in the game doesn’t have any of the game currency to even buy it. Then they have “treasure hunts” where you have to search around for treasure. You basically have to find at or very near the property the treasure is at. The issue is you can only move to 3 properties a day that aren’t yours. So unless you have properties all over you have 3 guesses on the whole map where the treasure is. It’s almost impossible unless it spawns right next to you. Game could be fun but they need to speed everything waaaay up in the beginning. I should be able to buy a property every few days at minimum. As the map gets filled then start reducing the in game currency.

MOST OF THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE

Look at the distribution of reviews. Have you ever seen a game with exclusively one and five star reviews and literally nothing in between? I read a bunch of the ‘positive’ reviews and they are all extremely generic, either posted by bots, the developers’ sock puppet accounts, or possibly because users were told they would receive in game currency for leaving a five star review. This ‘game’ has micro transactions and buzzwords, but no actual gameplay. THERE IS LITERALLY NOTHING TO DO BESIDES SPEND MONEY. It’s not a one time purchase, you either repeatedly give them money or you do nothing. These treasure hunts the devs keep telling people who leave genuine reviews to try cost money to participate in, they are classic slot machine gambling with a modern facelift to appeal to kids with iPhones and aspirations. Spending money on games is ok, but spend your money on a game with actual gameplay, and if you want to gamble, that’s fine too, but you’re way better off with fantasy sports or video poker or CSGO skins, or any form of gambling that will be straight with you about what’s going on.

Disappointing

The game is a complete money pet it is partnered with Wombat and number one the clarifications for completing the challenge is partnered with Wombat or unclear sometimes you get it sometimes you don’t it says spend 20,000 you PX not purchasing from other players name doesn’t clarify that the game doesn’t give a base for a beginner player to complete that challenge you figure partnered with another company it would be some sort of platform to make their players successful secondly there is no control in this game you literally stare at a screen for your icon to wander slow and aimlessly treasures are always recharging that one time yet have I received a treasure and here’s my biggest issue spark you can’t control your spark balance you can’t control your staking I don’t even think it’s accurate I have $25 worth of spark that I can’t see can’t manage it tells you what’s available the steak it’s steaks for you and my balance is ridiculous based off the steak 0.06 I can’t build anything or construct anything

Great idea, awful execution

I saw this game with great thoughts in mind of owning my own street, soon I’ve come to realize that I would have to pay to do anything that isn’t wait for daily bonuses. I started off with 4500 upx, issue is that the so called “fair start act” property costs 4800, so you have 2 options, but 10k upx or wait a week and collect daily bonuses, if you wait then another issue arises, your character is constantly moving. It’s been 3 days and I have no idea where my “fair start” even was, not like it matters. Nothing in this game is fair to new players, everything is already owned and way out of the price range of a new visitor. While your character moves there are events to find more upx, problem is, THEY DONT WORK, you can get hints where the treasure is but no matter what property you click on they always point in a pre determined spot even if it’s a new event! it’s a broken mess for early players and it’s frustrating to have to deal with this. Good luck to any new players trying to stay f2p

Paying for Potential

Let’s be honest here. this app is not a good game. It only works because people know how great it COULD be and don’t want to miss out if the idea works. The catch? The this app business model is centered around people paying for the prospect that they might make money off the game when it succeeds. But unless you are willing to invest quite a BIT of cash, you’re just foolishly hoping that you’ll make it with login dedication alone.

But let’s say you DO end up waiting and scraping for every morsel of UPX (in game currency) and FINALLY end up buying a property of your own with logins alone (good luck with that)…your property will literally generate less than ONE UPX most times you’re away. I’m talking .89 UPX every few hours. And new properties are thousands of UPX. So in other words…unless you use real money for properties, you won’t have anything at all to do in this game. There’s so little balance in this game, that it’s clear that the creators are basing gameplay solely off of people that will pay for it.

Absolutely no point in this game no real goals

Definitely a pay to play game. You don’t really get anything out of playing it or have any real interaction besides trying to find a treasure that goes away in minutes. I’ve had this game for months and have gotten nowhere since the first day I played it. You don’t control your character it moves by itself who know why it doesn’t give good instructions either. No sense of accomplishment just confusion. Game is extremely rigged as for the people who created it own pretty much everything. You might be able to get somewhere if you literally “play” the game 24/7 or spend your real money for this joke of a game. It takes forever to load the outlines of the properties too even on Wi-Fi so finding treasures is almost impossible before either you run out of moves or it disappears after about 3 minutes. If you’re looking for something to waste your time and throw money at this is it. But don’t expect any type of reward at the end.

Review

I’ve been with this game for about 2 years, and I am an active player. this app has its ups and downs, but overall this game has been a positive experience for me. I noticed that people that usually complain about this app thought this game would make them very rich. This game is about connecting, strategy, and LOTS of patience. I buy and sell homes in real life, and this game has helped create new ideas/strategies in help improve my business. Personally, I don’t know if this game will make me rich or wealthy from the game itself (maybe/maybe not), but the mental processing, calculating, forecasting, predicting, and negotiating are skills that I believe are building by playing this app that can help me build wealth for myself in other areas.

This Game can be Addictive

This is a quite a fun game and you can earn money however it’s not straightforward to cash out. You have to sell your NFT‘s for USD, and that’s not as easy as you may think. You have to be a certain rank to be able to sell for USD after a certain number of days. You have to be KYC’d. And the higher up and rank you go the easier it is for you to sell your assets for cash. If you’d rather grow your net worth in the game, which is probably a good strategy, but not financial advice, you can start to earn 20- 30 $50 a month in just earnings revenue if you are wise with your collections and minting. It’s even possible to benefit from buying undermint in USD, to boost your returns. As cities open, new Property NFTs are available and desirable. The next city release is tied to FIFA World Cup soccer. This is a fantastic partnership, and I’m excited to see where that goes. Collaborating with groups of players to build community enterprises is also a fun strategy to boost value of one’s assets and potentially sell for a profit in the future, post development. New racing mechanics and community voting…. There’s many cool features to this evolving game. Is it actually going to emerge as a web3.0 e-commerce market space? Overall, it’s fun. It can be frustrating. It can be time consuming without discipline. Treasure hunting is big, but new mini-games are coming.

Learning curve

There is a learning curve in the game. Even with the tutorial at the beginning, I was a little stumped on with what to do. It took me a few months to finally figure it out. Now that I have been playing for a while, I still don’t have it all down pack, but it has definitely become a lot more fun. I wish there was a way to message other users about possibly selling their land or what they would charge if they did besides just make an offer. For instance, there is one plot of land in Queens. That is actually my grandmothers old house and I would love to be able to buy that for a keepsake just because it was her house. but it’s not a guarantee that if you send an offer that the person is even on anymore or that they will respond to it. Besides that it is definitely a fun game. Still trying to get the hang of everything there is to do in the game by traveling, it’s still a little perplexing and doesn’t always work. Lol but I can say. That I am having fun.

It’s not a bad app

This the only app that you can really make money on. It takes time of course. The money you generate with patience will go to your game platform and straight to your PayPal. I’ve been using this game for a few years I stopped but now I’ll get back to it. I use to think that it was a scam but the only one who was the scam was myself being impatient scamming myself. I’ve never had a problem with payouts here. And I’ve had some nice size payouts not thousands but a few hundred here and there.

People please don’t disrespect these creators for trying to fatten their pockets and give us access to a platform that can help us with the right strategy. Thanks this app for giving me exposure to the virtual, crypto, nft etc. world. I knew none of this 2years ago

Huge investment potential

Started playing yesterday. Tutorials have helped understand how to play. Purchased UPX and bought over 30 properties so far. Mostly in NYC.

One thing that would be good for the this app team to fix is the limits to sending and the awkward wandering the explorer does. Should have the ability to control wandering direction.

The current state of the game gives little incentive to login daily, which means its more of a set and forget until you’re ready to claim payout. Payouts should continue to stack, that’s not the issue, so don’t change that. I suggest adding explorer leveling system where you earn experience by distance traveled, visiting properties, performing actions at properties, etc.. Make the levels increase the yield of properties you own. There need to be ways to take UPX out of circulation, which is where having other facets in the game could be leveraged.

Top Metaverse Game

The growth and gameplay of this project over the past two years ranks it as my top long-term play-to-earn game in the US (and soon-to-be) across the globe as they release cities outside the US. It’s the only game that allows players to buy virtual property mapped to real-world addresses and trade properties for other properties, UPX (the native Crypto within the game) or USDs. The recent addition of the NFL Players Association and in-game businesses called ‘Metaventures’ makes this a true standout in the space. Watch the most recent AMA where the team discusses even more new releases like in-game cars/vehicles and gameplay enhancements for car races and other events that merge the real and virtual worlds.
