Spring Trip

The condo that we stayed in was clean and comfortable. I’m pretty sure the beds were the most comfortable we have ever encountered in our travels. It was tastefully decorated and not overdone with mountain decor.
We unfortunately had one solid night of quiet during quiet hours though, our 1st night there. The unit directly above us was noisy the next 3 nights. The first night we thought they could be coming in and bringing their stuff. The second night was worse, and I had to call this app to file a complaint. I followed up with the front desk in the morning as instructed. That night was even worse! We thought they were remodeling it was so loud. My husband had to finally make a visit upstairs. It was a great place, and other than the upstairs people, everyone else was wonderful. Not sure if we’ll do it again because we like to actually go to sleep, but it was nice overall.

Fraud!! Renters be aware!!!

We are renting a house in Fire Island at 137 Ocean Bay Blvd in Ocean Bay Park and found the house in the middel of a construction site with construction going on 24/7. Bulldozers digging and jack hammering all night long. We don’t have beach access as was advertised. This construction was not mentioned in this app’s ad, even though we found out it has been going on for a long time. The police informed us that there are no construction restrictions because the beach is state land and therefor construction can continue ALL NIGHT LONG. We haven’t been able to sleep since we arrived and this app is unresponsive. We have emailed several times. No reply. Calling failed due to insane wait hours.
Don’t rent with this app and don’t rent this property. this app makes it difficult to submit a review. The only review for this property is clearly presented by this app itself.
This is the only way to warn others who are about to be duped.

House very dirty

Hello we checked into our house today and are very disappointed. The sheets are dirty, the garbage cans are overflowing, someone has thrown up in the downstairs bathroom and it wasn’t cleaned up well before we arrived and there were many fruit flies covering the toilet seat. The house was not locked upon arrival. The previous guest clearly had a party here. There is a large spill, wine, pee or vomit that was cleaned on the rug before we arrived and was sopping wet. The pool was not chemically balanced when we arrived so we personally had to put new chemicals in. Overall with coronavirus going on we do not feel like this was the clean and safe environment we were looking for. We have tried calling this app but haven’t had anyone answer after 30 min wait. I have pictures I would like to share. Please reach out to me.

Minimum stay issues

There are far less rentals available than other applications but also there is minimum booking requirements that make some of these not even feasible. For instance, I’m going on a cruise and I want to get into Miami the night before so I can plan accordingly, I can’t book a room for the one night before I get on the boat. I gave it 4 stars because that’s not entirely on this app but they should incentivize property owners to reconsider this in towns where people are just passing through.

Skewed reviews!!

Vacasa is a joke. We stayed at a horrible rental that had hundreds of great reviews and it was a complete dump, nothing like the pictures and we had chemical burns from the hot tub. We didn’t ask for our money back or anything in return other than to write an honest review of the house. We have fought for weeks to just have our review posted and we have just gone round and round with this company. BUYERS BEWARE! This company doesn’t let you post an honest review of subpar rentals!!!! I’m sure that the good reviews are from paid individuals. We aren’t finicky. I travel for a living and have stayed in rentals all over the globe. There’s no way that we are the only ones.

Great house but Vascasa can do better!

We loved everything about the house and location!!! The customer service thru Vascasa was pretty horrid tho-I had to call numerous times and wait a total of 2 hrs to talk to a person while we were there cause I had one simple question. The customer rep was nice once I finally got thru and I know it’s not her fault they don’t have the staff they should

Please don’t use this APP!

1. The check-in and out time was really strict, 4pm to 10am. I had a meeting at 10am and asked if we could expanded 30 mins and the customer service answered very cold, no.
2. The outdoor lighting is totally out of use, we couldn’t use the swimming pool over night, which was the reason we booked the house. We asked the customer service if there were a hidden switch and they let us to found out ourselves.
3. There were cleaning ppl entered our house without notification during our stay in the early morning.
In summarize, cold customer service with no flexibility and care to the customer.

Rude!!

When I finally got thru, waiting times up to and over two hours, it was on the last day allowed to cancel. It was the 30th day and I was told it had to be BEFORE 30 days. I also asked if I could file for a refund with the travel insurance I had purchased and this was the answer, “we don’t refund for fear, not legitimate “. Wow, I never seen anything more legitimate. Anyway, now we
Have next May to hopefully get there. The bad part is I’m 77 years old and too many things are possible. We needed the money far more than another vacation.

Future stay credit

Just wanted to say how awesome the folks at this app have been to me. I had some family health scares that prevented me from returning to Belize and instead of losing my money they issued me a future stay credit and I will be able to return in may 2021’ for a week and again in Nov. can’t tell you how grateful I am that I chose this app to work with.

Good luck getting in touch with anyone

Apparently this app has taken over management at the resort I’ve been staying at for 20 years. I’ve never had a problem with booking or reaching someone when I had a question or inquiry until now. I’ve sent numerous emails, and have called several times to no avail. They have different prices for the same room depending on which website you use. I always book a weeks stay at The Islander Resort for my birthday, and had a question regarding booking, I’ve received zero response. I am beyond disappointed with their lack of service.

Horrible

I have used vacation rentals for years and years. Usually book through another company. And when I had to cancel due to the pandemic I came to find out it went through this app and not the original site I thought I was going through. Had so many issues with credit and when I finally tried to use the rest of my credit I was told I had to travel by the time the credit expired, not just book. NO WHERE on the site does it tell you that. They do not care about the customer. They got their money from you.

A professional company

We had no issues at all booking through this app and thought they went above and beyond with their service. We called to add an extra day to our vacation and they made it very easy. Our experience with this app is highly recommended!

Refused refund and not responding

Due to the corona virus outbreak and the mandatory shelter in place order that is currently in place for the state that I reside(WA) as well as the state of the vacation home I rented (OR) I was forced to cancel my upcoming trip. Not only am I having to pay full price for the trip I’m not taking including cleaning fees and water usage fees etc the home owner and the customer service via Vacasa have not responded to my several contact attempts. Thoroughly disappointed with how this company is treating their customers during this state of emergency. Could’ve easily given a credit to use later but they won’t even respond to us.

The worst company to deal with

Went to Ocean City and stayed in the condo where the air conditioning was broke when we got there. We called and they wanted to refund us and make us find our own place because they had nothing. They kept saying they were trying to get a hold of the owner of the condo then when we found people that knew him he had no clue. They wanted to give us $25 a day for not having air-conditioning. Two kids pooped in the pool and they refused to come and clean it for days. Trying to get a refund and being hung up on by managers absolutely unprofessional!!

Wouldnt book with them!

Just keep scrolling and book with another company . When you have issues ( and you will) it’s hard to get anyone to answer and they take forever to send anyone out. Rooms aren’t available to check in when they say , it was 24 hours later when they sent someone to fix a broken sink, they said condo had dishwasher but it did not work , AT All! Multiple issues and they just kept saying I would get reimbursed, which never happened! Will never book with them again

Love it but...

I love using this app for making vacation rental arrangements however lately it is impossible to get in touch with them and get any kind of help through the customer service. I waited for four hours on hold one day to try to talk to somebody and still have not been able to reach anyone either by phone or by email.

Perfection

We plan to make this an annual vacation. This place was everything we could have imagined and more. This is our fav rental out of all the ones we’ve rented over the past few years traveling. I love Vacasa it never disappoints. Which is why I use it.

Bugs bugs mice

This cabin is filled with bugs mice everywhere. We had to check out a day earlier because of the mice and bugs. Also there are no smoke detectors in the house. The outside was trash everywhere. Old wood trash cans everything. Would not recommend to no one. Have tried to contact the property manager several times and no call back. Planning on calling building codes and the BBB if I don’t hear from this company soon. I feel they should refund at the least one night. Debbie Caldwell 👎👎👎👎

My Stay

It was nicely decorated and clean. My recommendations to improve a person’s stay:
1. The King bed could be improved. It needs a new mattress, not very supported.
2. The Breakfast Bar Stools were cute but not functional.
3. The internet was very spotty and not secure. It needs to be password protected and the speed increased.
Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay.

The worst app I have ever dealt with. Booked a room and then a month later they say it was unavailable, they give me another room just to cancel that too. I have a whole family that’s coming on vacation from Europe and no place to stay because this app screwed me over. Please please stay away from this it’ll save you a bunch of headaches.

Don’t book your stay through here

this app does not work with you at all. Make sure you book your stay several months in advance and cancel prior to the 30 day mark because the company will not work with you at all if a natural disaster occurs.

Sells dumpy property rentals in scary parts of town. Sleepless noisy nights. I paid out of pocket for a hotel after I arrived. Not Vacasa developers fault

Beware of Vacasa I rented a house in Port Aransas, Texas for five nights. Upon arrival I immediately detected a chemical smell in the house, especially the first floor. Further there were fumes that burned the eyes and made us cough. We called the number Vacasa provided, got an answering service that assured us that someone would call back. We called five more times, was repeatedly assured they were on it, but no one ever contacted us. They said they would send someone within an hour but did not do so. They did send a technician from the gas company who said the fumes were from fresh epoxy paint on the pilings in the garage-adjacent to the downstairs bedroom and directly below the master bedroom. I have photos showing the fresh, toxic epoxy paint and the inadequate seals that allowed the fumes into the house. We explained to the person on the phone that we getting sick and were leaving. We stayed only one night. It has now been a month and Vacasa still has not contacted us or refunded any of the money we payed. Avoid Vacasa.

I stayed at Caribe Island in San Pedro. I was in Unit 24. These people claimed that I messed up WHITE TOWELS AND A SHEET. They charged ne $237 in fees to replace WHITE linens. Last time I checked, white stuff shows dirt easier than any other color. They waited 24 hours before contacting me and sited their contract about the miscellaneous fees. I sent them video and pictures of how things looked, and despite emailing them this, they wouldn't refund me. BEWARE OF THIS SHADY STUFF. I told Vacasa, and they basically honored the owner charging me these extra fees. I told them that a bad review is worth more than that $237, so I hope it was worth it. BEWARE OF VACASA. IF YOU STAY AT ANY OF THEIR PROPERTIES, TAKE A VIDEO OF THE UNIT BEFORE YOU TOUCH ANYTHING. THEN MAKE A VIDEO OF HOW THINGS LOOK WHEN YOU LEAVE. I WILL ATTACH SCREENSHOTS. DO NOT STAY AT THEIR PROPERTIES!

Renters beware in OBX! I made a reservation for July 2022 seven months in advance and needed to cancel it. I purchased travel insurance and Vacasa made me go through the insurance even though they knew it would be denied. After jumping through hoops (letter from supervisor, copies of receipts and credit card statements) and being denied, Mary from Hatteras Realty (Vacasa) said I would be able to get a refund once the travel insurance denial came. I was given a partial refund two weeks later (minus booking and insurance fees) so I want others to be aware of policies in NC. I see the home has already been rented (within 48 hours) so kudos to Hatteras Realty for receiving double booking fees on one property. Don’t purchase travel insurance until 30 days out. You won’t get refunded for this and it’s not worth the aggravation!

Booked a rental based on a listing on their site that left out the fact that the condo was disgusting. Paid $1600 for a dump. Vacasa reps called me everyday where I communicated the many issues including blood stains on furniture, smelly towels and sheets, bathrooms with mold, and more. Sent a detailed email after being asked to “contact us” about the experience. I was told that unless I had pictures they couldn’t believe me - funny because their pictures LIED about the condition of the home. A person named Hilary (works for Vacasa) who “speaks on behalf of” a person named April (also works for Vacasa) needs some coaching around customer service, listening, and tact. Awful experience, horrible problem management with customers, and AVOID VACASA because they are all about taking your money and delivering on sub par products. They contact you daily to ask about your stay, you tell them, and nothing happens. Not worth it.

My mother booked a beach front property one year ago in Fort Bragg,CA (“Shell Seeker”) to celebrate her 80th birthday. This house was a 5 bedroom house directly in the beach. We were to have our entire immediate family together in one location to celebrate her life. Less than one month from our trip she received an email that we would have to forfeit 2 of our 4 days of this celebration. My mother was driving from Washington (18 hours) for us to be together on her birthday. They said due to COVID there was a lack of housekeepers in the area and they would not be able to clean the house for the day of our arrival and we had to arrive a day late and leave a day early. My mother was so upset she asked me to call to let them know we would not be able to forfeit 2/4 days. I offered to clean myself or hire a bonded cleaning crew which they declined. I asked why cancel us, when we booked a year in advance. Then I found out the owners were in the house before us. Was this COVID (lack of cleaners) a real excuse or did the owners just not want to leave for our arrival. I was then transferred to the relocation team who tried to squeeze us into a 4 bedroom in the woods somewhere. I called several times asking for a manager to speak with. No one would call back. Finally a manager called and for some reason she had an attitude. When I explain that I did not believe this COVID excuse. she replied, “I donot know where you heard that!” I explained that we had an email from Vacasa stating “due to COVID”. Then she replied, “good for you.” By this time I was so defeated. We cancelled our trip and stressed for 3 days trying to find a place that could accommodate our family. I would NEVER advise this unprofessional company. They mismanaged our reservation. Shell Seeker in Fort Bragg we hold you responsible for our misery as well. You hired a company that mismanaged our reservation and I believe you may have been the cause as you were going to be in the house before us. By the way Vacasa there were 2 other properties available for the same dates in Fort Bragg, CA when you cancelled us. One was for 10,000 per night and the other was for 2100. If you could not get our place cleaned for our arrival then how could you list other properties if not housekeeper available.

This is the worst company to rent and trust your vacation with. we are three weeks away from our trip, and received an email yesterday stating our reservation had been canceled. When contacted, they claimed it was the owner who canceled without explanation, and they did not have any properties available for us to switch to. This is unacceptable from a company that is supposed to be one of the best in the world. Upon researching, I have found many have the same experience which is not right! Starting to believe this company may be scamming people.
