WTOL 11: Toledo's News Leader Reviews

Cut down on the pop up advertisements and advertisements for news clips. When something is live I shouldn’t have to wait 2 minutes to join missing information because of advertisement commercials. School delays I look for each day no matter what, but I always have to go through the entire page scrolling looking for the link. That should always be at the top of the list during school season.

You could also look for different companies to advertise.. such as small businesses. I know several but never see anything for them. Maybe not have them just for advertising but maybe have a feature that runs weekly looking at small businesses throughout the area in different trades. Not just who you have now either.

I was using the old app and saw that there was a new one, so I deleted the old and downloaded this new one and am probably going to switch back. WTOL11 doesn’t scroll smoothly, has a ton of old news prominently featured on the home page, and is not as customizable as they want to make it seem. I have tried to add favorite topics but it doesn’t change anything with what you see on the home page. I don’t like that I can’t scroll from story to story anymore either. You read one, then have to go back to the home page, look for the next headline, read that story, go back to the home page, etc. Sometimes I can’t even find all of the new stories from the day. There are headlines listed as local news but they are from other parts of the country, and you don’t realize that it isn’t a local story until halfway through the article. This is a horrible news app.

WTOL is refreshing! It is a local station with a big feel!! They care about their community and their attention to details and the real FACTS and it is reassuring in a difficult time rife with hearsay, obvious political agendas and discord across our nation! A very difficult time.

The NEWS should present the TRUTH and REAL news, not agendas to influence and sway- that can be dangerous as we have seen. In many cities across our nation this past year!

TOLEDO is truly an all AMERICAN CITY! No agendas, just families, the strength of large industries and the support of unique, small businesses that are vital to all of our well being!

The content is good if you can get to it. There is too much advertising or other junk content you can’t get to the new content easily. I literally review the first page and then scroll all the way to the bottom and review from bottom up. It is as if it is purposely developed to be difficult. There is also tons of stale content like the crime and sports. My last complaint is the refresh timer. WTOL11 refreshes and puts you back at the top even if you move to another screen for seconds. You lose whatever you were reading or wherever you were in navigating the content.

I am ready to delete WTOL11. The ads are huge and everywhere, but the news stories are tiny and hard to read. Everything is a different size and I can’t tell what is a real story and what is clickbait. The articles are awful, because of all of the ads too. I want it back to the way it used to be. I don’t know how others are rating this high right now. I suppose if you only care about streaming the videos for the news, but I just want to read the stories and that is awful. I hope this gets fixed.

I have an active lifestyle so I appreciate being able to stay up to date on news even if I am away from the tv. I also appreciate breaking news updates and the weather app as well.

I watched 11 News when I had cable, cut the cord and got WTOL11 for my news. Just terrible!!!! Keeps crashing or I get a picture but no sound, NOTHING WORKS RIGHT WITH WTOL11!!! 13ABC App works great, not this one! Cannot even watch more than 60 seconds before something goes wrong. I do like that 11 keeps running the same news until the next broadcast so I can see what I missed but if it doesn’t work, that’s a wash too. Guess I’ll have to tune into 13ABC from now on, goodbye 11!!! BTW it’s not my internet, TV or any other problem, only WTOL11 won’t work — even on my phone!

I love my channel 11 unfortunately my cable doesn’t have it, thank you for our cell phones at least I can keep up there.

WTOL11 is horrible by far. There is always someone who thinks they can do it better, but not here. The set up is horrible. Who ever is supposed to be an editor even lacks editing. So many grammar errors. Do you not have SPELL CHECK?
It’s a complete turn off having to deal with this MESS you all have thrown together. Just put it back the way it was. Looking at all these negative comments and you are still stuck on stupid.

Toledo gives detailed reports for viewers across the area. The newsroom folks you get to a point where you feel like you know them.

The old app wasn’t perfect, but was so much easier to use on my iPhone. The only good item this version retained was the push messages. I dread opening WTOL11 to try to find more details though.

It always resets to the top of the home page, you cannot just go back a step. There is no obvious way to search a topic.

I enjoy this sight because I can keep in touch with by home town. I moved to Massachusetts several years ago and have family and friends in Toledo.

WTOL11 is not anywhere as good as the old one. There are old articles left on here and the extended forecast numbers do not agree at all with the First Alert weather app.

Now that the landscape view is working this has become my go to app for local news. I really like this new app!

Too confusing & hard to read. Too many fonts, headings, sections...ads...not really interested in shuffling through the crap to read the headlines

While this was supposed to be an upgrade WTOL11 just not good. The old app was much better in terms of layout and navigation. WTOL11 freezes every time I use it and closes unexpectedly a few times per week. I have deleted and reloaded WTOL11 hoping it would help. It didn’t. Let’s not even talk about all the grammar and spelling errors! Bring back the old app!!

Love the weather alerts and news updates to keep me up on what’s happening so I know how to plan my day!

The Toledo 11 app gives pretty convenient information overall.

Great addition to you nightly news team. You have two new loyal watchers! I’m sure there are many more.

Update- June 12, 2019- WTOL11 still not performing with the advertised changes. Can you add the live and repeating daily broadcast feature back to the old format???

The live news broadcasting is no longer available on WTOL11. The old format would play the live new broadcasts, take you into the 9 am morning show and then repeat the morning news. The live feature would play afternoon, evening and 11 pm news which allowed viewer to see everything all day. WTOL11 only shows portions of coverage.
I wish they would return it to the previous format so we could watch all of the broadcasting.

I love WTOL11 and everything WTOL has to offer. You are my go to channel for all news and weather! Keep up the great work!

I liked the old app better! There is much more that appears on the page, when you open WTOL11 , than necessary. I would like to just read the current news and not look at old videos or news that has been on the page for some time.

About ready to delete WTOL11 . I only use it to watch live morning newscasts when I’m traveling. Before I could watch the live newscast or the newscast after the normal broadcast time. All I can find now are only video clips of content I don’t care about. Someone please tell me how to find the whole broadcast.
