I was using the old app and saw that there was a new one, so I deleted the old and downloaded this new one and am probably going to switch back. The app doesn’t scroll smoothly, has a ton of old news prominently featured on the home page, and is not as customizable as they want to make it seem. I have tried to add favorite topics but it doesn’t change anything with what you see on the home page. I don’t like that I can’t scroll from story to story anymore either. You read one, then have to go back to the home page, look for the next headline, read that story, go back to the home page, etc. Sometimes I can’t even find all of the new stories from the day. There are headlines listed as local news but they are from other parts of the country, and you don’t realize that it isn’t a local story until halfway through the article. This is a horrible news app.

The content is good if you can get to it. There is too much advertising or other junk content you can’t get to the new content easily. I literally review the first page and then scroll all the way to the bottom and review from bottom up. It is as if it is purposely developed to be difficult. There is also tons of stale content like the crime and sports. My last complaint is the refresh timer. The app refreshes and puts you back at the top even if you move to another screen for seconds. You lose whatever you were reading or wherever you were in navigating the content.

I am ready to delete this app. The ads are huge and everywhere, but the news stories are tiny and hard to read. Everything is a different size and I can’t tell what is a real story and what is clickbait. The articles are awful, because of all of the ads too. I want it back to the way it used to be. I don’t know how others are rating this high right now. I suppose if you only care about streaming the videos for the news, but I just want to read the stories and that is awful. I hope this gets fixed.
