The sounds and interface are decent enough, but the drum sequencer doesn’t play in time! The loops are rhythmically choppy and inconsistent, with awkward lags and rushes, and definitely not correctly quantized. And before anyone accuses me of “blaming the metronome,” these issues are fully apparent even when listening to just the sequencer alone. I get that it’s a free app, but it’s ultimately unusable for any programming purposes.

I just don’t understand this idea of developers going towards ‘subscriptions’, instead of just outright selling an app. This makes sense for expePC software, such as photoshop, which is expensive, may be used for a single project, but the person can’t justify the cost of outright buying the software. However, for something like this, which I may just use occasionally, I can’t wrap my head around the idea of paying for something, that I’m not always using. How about providing a one-time purchase price, for those of us who don’t want to get milked every month? I would like to demo the app, using the ‘3 day trial’, but I don’t sense in even trying it, if it’s something that I have to pay for, month after month, and have to remember to cancel, when I no longer need it.

If there was a way to make drum rolls possible on the toms it would make the app much more like real drums. It’s such a good job the makers have done so doesn’t make sense to have most of the app so well done only to bring the overall quality down by leaving out a move that’s as common as any. It’d be like having a guitar used predominantly for heavy metal like an ESP Signature Jeff Hanneman that you couldn’t play fast or palm mute
