Unfortunately, Hallo glitches every time I start a lesson. Great concept but poor execution, but I’m excited to see where this can go when they fix the UX.

Also, the lessons jumped right into speaking Spanish without translating what you have to say. Luckily, I know a little Spanish so I was able to understand but I wouldn’t recommend the Novice lessons to actual novice speakers.

A good idea, but asks for money immediately after you select a translation.
And I am 100% against filters for adults when conversing with an AI in the privacy of my home. That I am paying for.
But the number one reason I cannot recommend is the UI and overall design is very basic and poor.
And it's expensive.
Anyway, I would will not be paying for an app that seems half- baked, and not ready yet.

The this app app is —BY FAR— one of the BEST apps to get English tutoring from or to teaching English from!

It’s Instamatch feature’s connection has improved TREMENDOUSLY and I planning on tutoring with it a lot!

However, I’ve recently been trying to reach out to to this app Support about “monthly requirements for this app tutors,” because I wasn’t sure if this app teacher requirements also apply to tutor.

My account still works.

I believe it’s been downgraded to a student account because all of the normal communication features work, which is why I wanted to asked if this app tutors and teachers monthly requirements are the same.

I did receive some money for the first Instamatch I conducted some months ago, so I know this app pays out. So, that’s not an issue.

My current problem is that “not one of my emails were replied to.” I didn’t even receive an automatic email.

I’m not sure of the exact number, but I believe I contacted this app Support about 5 times by email, spaced apart. So, I should have gotten one reply by now

I promise I’ll fix my 2 star review after I get a reply from this app support, because you all really deserve 5!

I just want some help with my issues and it really feels bad to feel ignored…

Hallo seems promising and I’m excited to be able to actually use it. In its current state, I cannot do any lesson without it going back to the main screen. It does the same for the role play selections, even in multiple different languages. The farthest I could get was two responses and then it would send me back to the Home Screen. Once app is actually useable beyond this I would love to come back and give it 5 stars, for now, I’ll remain at 3 with the hope it will be resolved quickly.

I like the overall concept. My first thought was it was better than Duolingo. Then I started taking the quizzes and I got the answers wrong because all answers were correct but I didn't know which one the bot wanted me to choose. For example, "I live in... City A, B, C, or D. Without context I have 25% chance of getting it right. Which one does it want me to choose? The second bug is that some lessons show "Error loading script" The third bug is that I sometimes I can't press the X or Skip button during an ad. Anyways, I like Hallo . It's just kind of buggy.

I have been using this application for 1 year. Today i have texted my friend by my country language and after that this app apps say i used bad word but i used my country language in the text then i suspended from this app app for 3 days so help me because i use this application lots of time

Hope you are well. I would like to tell you that we really want the students live stream to come back as it was really great for speaking in English
I know it is hard to bring back everything as you guys said you would never bring it back
But just imagine every students will come back and download Hallo again because they really got benefits from it
I’m speaking behalf of students as i have talked to many of them and every single of them really wanted it back
You guys should create a learning environment where everyone gets benefits from it
Hope you guys reconsider your decision according the live streams

Great app! The AI free conversation is super helpful for learning a brand new language! I’ve been studying Portuguese about one month for my job and use this app’s lessons in addition to Duolingo because Duolingo is slower and better for when I only have a minute or so and for practicing pronunciation but this app actually helps me hear more sentences and phrases in context and much more quickly than Duolingo. I feel like I learn so many random words in Duolingo but this app gives me immediate conversation skills and common words and phrases I would be using in introduction situations. The AI convo pushes me to recall what I know quickly and it understands me even if my responses are broken with either a poor accent or bad grammar. The AI teacher also speaks in long sentences that help me fill in the blanks and learn more of the words and phrases I want to use. Great app!! Only give 4 stars for now because I still use it with Duolingo because I want additional help with pronunciation. I only use the free version though so if I paid for a tutor maybe that would be included.

Hey this app was awesome before a year when there was live streams and we could use insta match whenever we want but nowwww there's nothing even if I want to send a msg to my friends I can'tttt I'm really sad about it please do smth about it we really want the old this app not the one u created nowww😭😭 I'm sure after the new version u guys lose most of the this app users I hope u guys will do smth abt it🙂👍🏻

I’m actually a teacher on this app and I can’t say enough about it. Meeting the most amazing people from all around the world has been life changing. Teaching English on this app has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life and it just keeps getting better. The culture on this app is positive and engaging.. watch out, it’s addicting.. in a really good way!

Hallo is so cool! There will soon be 1000s is streamers (teachers) and millions of people learning a language. You can make money teaching English in a fun and inclusive video chat. I’ve taught English for 4 years and this app is by far the most promising app to become fluent. It helps people overcome their fear of speaking and helps people find tons of opportunities to practice speaking with others. Some teachers are making $15-20 an hour per live stream, and more ways to make money coming soon!! Seriously, such a cool and creative way to learn a language, without having to pay to move to another country and experience the culture. Now you can on this app.

I have used the this app from the beggining of Hallo ’s first days. I was in US about 7 years but i was at home all the time. Because of that, i couldnt improve my speaking skills, After i started to use this app, my daily conversation skill improved a lot. This is an excellent platform to practice English with others. For non native speakers it is essential to develop opportunities to practice frequently with others to gain the muscle memory and build confidence. This is Hallo where you can do it. For native English speakers wanting to help create opportunities to help people around the world to speak this is a perfect app to do so. It also allows for recognition and understanding of a variety of cultures around the world.

Hallo is the perfect app to learn and practice speaking English. It is also a great way to meet and make friends with English learners from all over the world! It is such a great community as well. The hardest thing about learning a language is finding the time and people to practice talking with, and this solves that problem! This makes talking with others in a new language easy and fun even. Not to mention great design and functionality. Highly recommended.

The only cool thing about Hallo was the instaMatch and students’ livestreams, but unfortunately you have removed these two awesome features. Hope to get them back

I downloaded Hallo more than 5 months ago. I did a presentation in one of my classes, and I wasn’t satisfied with the results. Therefore, I decided to look for an app to improve my speaking skills and I found this app. Honestly, when I started using it, I was very amazed and happy, too. I was always using Instamatch and watching live streams. I even started thinking in English now , and I feel more confident speaking English. I highly recommend it from experience!

Practice with students and teachers in online clubs with subjects you are interested in. A great way to learn practical language skills.

It's great for both students and teachers. The students can learn at their own pace, and the teachers can teach whenever they can! It's a great idea, and Hallo is always progressing. The creators are also involved in the learning process, too, as they make live stream lessons just like normal teachers. Definitely recommend it as a learning tool!
