I literally spent days trying to figure out how to connect my ITK to my IQC4. Tried Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. After a bunch of monkeying around finally got a Wi-Fi connection. The Dashboard doesn’t work, saying No Internet Connection, but I know the IQC4 and my iphone/ipad are online. Registered a support call about a week ago, and as requested sent screenshots. Got a email response and I requested a phonecall with tech support 7 days ago. No response yet.
Note: I have found that when it acts goofy, deleting EnphaseInstallerToolkit and re-installing will likely cure the problem.
Unlike the old app, you can no longer just commission a system without knowing all the customer details. I have multiple techs in the field each day commissioning jobs and they don’t know all the customer info EnphaseInstallerToolkit requires just to commission. Even if they did, we build jobs for other companies and we can’t create the site because then the customer will be linked to our company system list which is not allowed. Reached out to Enphase and they were zero help.
System takes up to ten minutes to go from one step to another many times, and when trying to Commission a Battery System EnphaseInstallerToolkit will often drain the phone from 100% to 20% because everything it does takes so long to perform the simplest of tasks. Often it won’t even let me log in for days on end without having to reinstall EnphaseInstallerToolkit .
I have used installer toolkit every day for several years now. up until the most recent update I would have given it 2.5 stars, bad but not horrible. after the update EnphaseInstallerToolkit is absolute garbage, commissioning time went from 20 minutes to about an hour, and still has all the problems it’s always had. the fact that you now have to manually scan micros on every install is infuriating. With every new update I become more confident that enphase is actually trying to make EnphaseInstallerToolkit worse. Bring back the gray installer toolkit app, that one actually worked fine
I am having nothing but trouble with EnphaseInstallerToolkit. The system functionality is ineffective, downloading the software update took almost an hour. The system I am servicing has been operational for years but their old Envoy failed. The new model requires an entire cabinet and re-wiring the system instead of being designed for integration with an existing system. Since I didn’t install the system originally, it isn’t under my login so I have to enter the system. Every company is going to a mobile programming app but theirs are being designed with cases like this in mind. I am thoroughly unimpressed!
EnphaseInstallerToolkit used to be the best installer app across all the solar platforms I’ve used. I’ve been a professional solar installer and master electrician for 10+ years, so I have quite a bit of experience. The new update they put out for EnphaseInstallerToolkit is straight up trash, and doesn’t work nearly as well as the previous version. You can’t build a map until the whole darn system is online?! Trash. You can’t finish building the site out until the whole system is online? Trash. This used to be a great app, now I despise having to use it.
Enphase has a habit of constantly updating the software within the systems and the application even when they're working perfectly fine, these constant needless updates end up breaking older systems that have been stable for years all due to the new software updates. Reminds me of how apple constantly updates their software in order to make older phones stop working as well forcing you to upgrade to a newer device.
Overall is junk compared to the old app. The scan system they have is completely junk and doesn’t even work. Places the scanned micro inverters wherever it wants on array builder and replaces already scanned ones with new ones even manually selecting a place for it. Takes forever to load, regardless of connection and force closes in the middle of the set up process. Hopefully enphase can figure out the bugs but it’s a very frustrating and difficult app to navigate.
I recently bought a new iPhone. I have been unable to connect via AP mode. I’m able to find site, connect to envoy through Wi-Fi but when it tries to load the site it says please restart your phone or envoy. It’s done this at multiple sites. My phones software and ITK is up to date with current version
There are annoyances when using app. Depending on what you are doing, you have to constantly switch your Wi-Fi settings back and forth between Envoy connection and internet Home Wi-Fi connection. Some systems like Encharge apparently use Bluetooth so not so annoying. Need to make envoy Bluetooth centric so the phone can stay in internet Wi-Fi connection mode.
EnphaseInstallerToolkit is fine to use for commissioning systems. It’s pretty straightforward walks you through everything. The biggest problem is every other day. I have to delete and reinstall EnphaseInstallerToolkit because it says my password is incorrect. As soon as I delete EnphaseInstallerToolkit and reinstall it amazingly I login with the same credentials. Please fix this
I found a really difficult and hard to use and frustrating, even setting up at account and password didn’t go smoothly. Do you set it up as the owner? Do you set it up as an installer? It’s not really clear what happens if you’re the owner and installer.
It’s notUser-Friendly, there should be a betterExplanation. Do you use the end phase installer tool kit first what about and phase enlightened? When do you use that. I just didn’t find any of it clear clear. And then what about the array? What is an array is an array a string or is it the whole roof top of panels.
I just found confusion all throughout trying to use EnphaseInstallerToolkit even once I finishedSetting it up I found problems and confusion and I still don’t seem to be getting good signals the Wi-Fi do I use cellular it’s just one confusion after the next.
I still don’t know how it really works. I don’t know if my end phase combiner talks to a satellite and then sends a signal back to me over the cloud I really don’t Know how it’s working.
It never made me smile sincerely, Cal.
Seems the ITK doesn’t efficiently sync real data while insight causing long delays and often only partial syncing . Nearly every time we need to call tech support to have the replacement gateway swapped or to retire old M series Inverter’s.
The ITK, after performing a gateway replacement, will hold onto the old gateway SN after performing the ITK replacement process. Then issue a warning the IQ8 microinverters are not compatible with Envoy -R (or some verbiage like that) when the only gateway connected to the cloud is a new IQ-XMA-240-4 . This happens more than 80% of the time.
Then it becomes very wasteful to sit and wait for hours trying to update and retire the old M-series Inverter’s.
Only way to best handle this is to add the number of gateway devices making it 2 then take the troublesome time to try and add the new IQ8 Inverter’s to the new IQ gateway. Takes a few attempts … then at a later day try and retire the old equipment.
Should be pretty seemless by now
Numerous times of using EnphaseInstallerToolkit, I have spent countless hours trying to fix something that wasn’t wrong because of his reporting that there’s a problem. I have to check across multiple devices to make sure I’m not working on something that is really not broke. having to call into Tech Support and being told they are seeing something totally different than I am when I am on site is counterproductive. I realize this is just a computer program and nothing is perfect. I just hope that this can be improved upon.
I repeatedly have to delete and re-install EnphaseInstallerToolkit because it logs me out every couple of days and when I try logging back in it says user not authorized .. once I re-install though I’m able to log in . Overall great simple app though .
Good aside from getting kicked after every work day. Would like to be able to stay logged in. Otherwise okay easy to navigate.
Often times I try to login and it tells me it’s the wrong password. When you kill EnphaseInstallerToolkit and then reopen it, It skips the login screen and allows full access to EnphaseInstallerToolkit .
I installed the Envoy in Argentina and I was unable to access to the profile I need, only US grid profiles and some (AU and NZ) was available. Location service was enable (a requirement to use this new tool) and the system is registered in Argentina. I can see the profile online from the system manager but not available on this tool.
Update:
After back and forth the Produc Manager contacted me by email regarding this use and explained to me that my account (as installer) was USA based, once he changed to Argentina I was able to find and load the profile I needed.
Thanks for the great support!!!
as a contractor who installs panels or multiple companies I don’t have all the information when setting up the system and have many systems to set up. The old app worked great for my needs this new app has complicated everything as well as takes longer
I believe that System owner need to access it even limited access.
But, this version refuse login except installer. Useless completely.
