Good info, extremely poor navigation

2024-11-27

SierraReloadingManualv60 has a lot of info about everything Sierra but holy cr*p are they terrible at packing it into a pretty package. Everything is basically on a few pages. Literally chapters of info on one page. Navigation is a nightmare. Sierra needs to get someone to update this format to be easier to navigate and make updates more often than annually.

Has Errors

2024-11-27

Listed velocities for 357 mag pistol data are off by 300 to 400 fps. 357 mag rifle data is totally missing from SierraReloadingManualv60 . Talked to tech support at Sierra and he was UNAWARE of these issues but agreed they need to be fixed. What other errors are there that Sierra is unaware of? Because of the potential safety issues when reloading, it is imperative that the data be properly vetted. This is clearly not the case with SierraReloadingManualv60. It’s very disappointing. I always considered Sierra to be a top operation with good quality data and bullets. Now my opinion has changed. Sadly I won’t be buying any more Sierra bullets since I can’t trust their data.

No sense in paying for a subscription!

2024-11-27

I just paid for a subscription and it didn’t do anything....still the same info and what’s worse if you take SierraReloadingManualv60 off of your device and try to put it back on it will not restart your subscription. absolute junk!!!

I would pass on this App

2024-11-27

I purchased a subscription and every time i try to use it i have to restore the subscription, now i get an error when trying to restore. It does however allow me to get to the point of purchasing another subscription. Too many better sources out there. I am going to switch over to Hornady.

Needs update

2024-11-27

It took Sierra a long time to embrace a mobile app for reloaders, almost as long as it took for a new manual. Unfortunately they aren’t doing a good job of keeping up with SierraReloadingManualv60 . As Apple keeps rolling out bee devices and updating their iOS, Sierra need to keep up with their app. Most current version hasn’t been updated in a year and is now crashing on loading screen with newest iOS installed. I actually like the UI. Wouldn’t change it. But you need to be able to get to the data in order for it to be worth anything. I would like to see BC info a little easier to find and view in order to compare bullets easier.

Zero

2024-11-27

Should be zero star rating because that is what I got after purchasing SierraReloadingManualv60 ; absolutely nothing. Tried to restore purchase received “encountered error trying to verify purchase.” Deleted app and reloaded and got same message. Tried on my phone with same results. Clicked “report a problem” on the Apple receipt; that is useless. Tried SierraReloadingManualv60 support, it took me to Sierra bullets website with “Sorry but we couldn’t find the page you are looking for.” I’m guessing they have a zero rating for it also.

Not an App

2024-11-27

This isn’t an app but a sales demo, and a poor one at that. Nothing meaningful to see or test without a subscription which is $5 annually. Since I couldn’t access anything it’s hard to tell if the data I need is included or not, my preferred bullets or powders. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. A lot of early complaints about UI, but this is the digital age.

Useless on iPhone XS

2024-11-27

The “back” buttons (upper left corner) are non-functional in nearly every section, on the iPhone XS. Total lack of QA, I guess.
To add insult to injury, after installing on my iPad to try and make use of it, I can not “recover my subscription” on the iPad (cryptic error every time.)

Update, after receiving feedback from Sierra....

I am using the same appleID on both devices. The second device I am trying to subscription-enable always errs with “An error was encountered trying to verify purchase.” If I try to do a purchase on the second device, it asks if I want to extend my existing subscription.

Update - after the 6.0.2 app update, I still can’t activate my subscription on my second device (iPad) and now I can’t restore my subscription on my iPhone. SierraReloadingManualv60 is not worth it. I’d much rather have the traditional printed manual.

Looks like a good data source, but embarrassingly clunky spp

2024-11-27

I just downloaded this, hoping for an easy way to avoid paying $35+ for data updates on the half dozen cartridges that interest me. I haven’t yet compared the data to that in my Ver. 5 manual (it better be different), but SierraReloadingManualv60 feels like it was developed by an intern. If I select a cartridge and load, then turn my phone from portrait to landscape, I have to go through the selection process all over (resets to first load in the database). Instead of presenting the data in tabular form (like a manual), they use a little slider on the bottom to vary the load/velocity value. Of course, if you move a bit when going this, you’ll revert back to the default. I guess Sierra knows bullets and not app development, but please go hire someone who both develops apps professionally and also hand loads. This just isn’t good enough.

And it would be nice to have something I could use on my Windows computer...

Fix your app

2024-11-27

It’s been years since anybody has updated SierraReloadingManualv60… you still have it resetting to the beginning between apps. When I pick a cartridge it shouldn’t resort to default in between apps…. Others have complained about this and possible incorrect data. This should be an easy fix…. Thx in advance 😎

Data is painfully lacking

2024-11-27

For the 9mm Luger, there is not one single load for 147gr bullets. Popular powders like Sport Pistol and N320 aren’t even listed for 115gr or 124gr. On top of that, SierraReloadingManualv60 hasn’t been updated in over a year. Yeah, I’m aware that Sierra is more geared towards rifles but 9mm is the most common cartridge in the world. Nevertheless it’s still a decent app which they could easily make into something great with a little effort.

Nothing huge

2024-11-27

I have to admit after decades of Sierra manuals I was disappointed in this one. A number of new factory cartridges are missing although powders were updated. Sierra has always been the premier bullet maker but they have yet to make 17 and 9.3mm bullets

A very good start

2024-11-27

I’m happy with the availability of data and ease of navigation through SierraReloadingManualv60 . There is at least one clunky feature in that SierraReloadingManualv60 doesn’t remember where you were if you switch apps or rotate the screen. It pops back to the startup screen which is annoying. I take screenshots of the data I want to reference in case this “bug” manifests.

Good resource

2024-11-27

I purchased a year subscription to the Sierra reloading manual. Overall it’s a great app for the five dollars I paid. One other reloading app subscription I purchased was four times that price and promised a paper copy of the manual, which I never received.
The Sierra app is a great resource for the money for sure. I won’t be renewing my subscription however, because it’s impossible to even purchase reloading components and will probably remain that way for some time. So what’s the point of reloading data?

Great alternative to the book

2024-11-27

I really love having the Sierra manual available in a much more convenient format. Anyone who’s reloaded for a while will recognize Sierra for their awesome bullets and exhaustive (and equally bulky) manual.

The only flaws I’ve found with SierraReloadingManualv60 are: 1. The data book resets to the first listed caliber if you minimize SierraReloadingManualv60 or your device goes to sleep, 2. There’s no provision (that I’ve found) to have a quick “favorites” list, 3. Newly added calibers aren’t obvious. Overall, this is a great tool and way worth the subscription price (you definitely want constantly updated load data), it just needs some “ease of use” refinements.

Lots of Great Information, App Needs Field Locking

2024-11-27

I don’t even remember downloading SierraReloadingManualv60, so what a disappointment to find I had this much data on hand and wasn’t using it!

I don’t have a chrony, so I don’t have a lot of information as to the approximate velocity of my loads. Additionally, the bullet detail helps me to identify which powders I own have worked in the caliber I want to try.

My one criticism is SierraReloadingManualv60 doesn’t lock on your selection. If the screen times out, or you close SierraReloadingManualv60 for any reason, re-entering SierraReloadingManualv60 requires that you re-select EVERYTHING. It’s a total reset. I hope that the next version update will lock the selection to enable a quick return to the load you’re working up. I have a bookmark feature in my loading manuals...I should have the same option in a paid subscription app.

Good App!!

2024-11-27

Only issue so far is when you accidentally flip your phone from portrait to landscape SierraReloadingManualv60 starts you over at .20 cal. Other than that I’m pleased as can be!!

Multiple devices with one subscription thank you Sierra

2024-11-27

Information popped up on the second device without buying another subscription. Thank you Sierra

I don't know what people are complaining about

2024-11-27

SierraReloadingManualv60 is a model for what reloading apps should be. 6.0.4 is the only version I've used, and I wish it would support older devices, but on an iPhone X it's great. Easy and intuitive interface takes you to the information you need. Using velocity as a primary vector for a cartridge is a little strange, and it would be nice to get a print out of a given bullet weight/cartridges combination. Hopefully future versions will continue to improve the interface. People need to be more flexible, though. This is a different way to look at load data, and it isn't at all bad.

Use this app frequently. Like it a lot

2024-11-27

The more I use SierraReloadingManualv60 the more I like it. I reload thousands of rounds of ammunition a year in multiple standard and oddball calibers. The separate data for AR platforms in 223 Rem is especially welcome. And it’s nice to be able to have the velocities for the intermediate loads to see how your gun is reacting compared to the test firearm. Having the data available when you’re not around your hard copy book is also handy.

How do I get to the reloading data?

2024-12-16

I purchased SierraReloadingManualv60 and still can only see the same stuff that was free, what am I missing or is this just a rip off?

Please Redesign This App

2024-12-16

I love your projectiles but SierraReloadingManualv60 is one of the worst I have ever navigated. It is not user friendly at all.

Gunrunner

2024-12-16

Wasn’t a bad app until did the last update now you have-to pay if you want to use it. Deleted it right after update.

Nope not worth it

2024-12-16

Deleted some powders added some. They now say 42 grains H380 in a 22.250 when old V5 topped at 39 and no longer recommended for the Swift. Won’t be paying for it or buying the new manual. I knew Sierra would go downhill once they were sold, but not this bad.

Broken no way to contact support

2024-12-16

Purchased on 10/1 on iPhone se. error when validating purchase. Checked iTunes charge went through. They sent me to app developer. After poking around found support button. Takes me to a broken link.

Welcome to the internet, half the apps are broken or junk.

Ok

2024-12-16

Good quick access to data but SierraReloadingManualv60 has been buggy from the beginning just like the new management.

Purchased twice, still no access

2024-12-16

I’ve purchased the subscription twice, app wont let me in, says it can not validate subscription. Would love to be able to give a real review.

Good data, bad UI

2024-12-16

Please redesign the UI for the load data. The slider for the velocity is not user friendly. A dropdown to select a specific powder improve the experience greatly.

Thanks Sierra

2024-12-16

Great intuitive app providing the most popular cartridges for free, sign me up. Of the few reloading apps I have utilized this is, to me, the most organized and versatile.

Info bank on reloading

2024-12-16

Nice app! Lots of information and content on every aspect of reloading. Couldn’t have come out sooner. Just in time for competition season and prepping for next hunting season. Thanks Sierra Bullets!

Super data for reloaders...

2024-12-16

Happy to have a digital version of the reloading manual. Awesome job Sierra Bullets!

Finally, reloading data for Sierra bullets

Love the data,
