It took a little while to set it up. That being said. I have tried a few different budget friendly lunch monitors. They all have their pros and cons. This one is my favorite. Shot Tracing. I love the video feedback.
I love that it shows you How far off line you are right to left. No other portable launch monitor does this for you. That is budget friendly.
I am in Florida. Unfortunately the Florida sun overheats your phone rather quickly. This is a drawback. That being said it is a drawback to most of these kind of devices. You just need to get to the range extra early in the morning. Which I should do anyways.
Would love to see a indoor version or net version.
I’d like to see a way to keep a backup battery on the phone while using the MLM. Not a deal breaker. Maybe they could make the MLM bigger with a bigger battery that also charge the phone while in use.

Great value for the money. Shot trace seems very accurate even in low light conditions. Compared it with trackman. All measurements were consistently within 1-2% of trackman data

A couple of drawbacks. There is an intermittent glitchy connection between my iPhone 8 (with most recent iOS) and the monitor. Every 25-35 shots, it loses connection while processing a shot. RapsodoMLM then needs to be restarted and session resumed.

Immediate club head speed would be good info to have instead of just distance & ball speed. Clubhead data is only available when the practice session data is reviewed later.

After getting back into playing golf two years ago and wanting to improve my game. I knew I needed something to help with that. After researching MLM’s for the past six months, I decided on the Rapsodo MLM. It was the right price point and had the features I was looking for to include shot tracing and video recording. I knew I made the right choice and it does not disappoint. I would like to see the ball spin rate added to the stats, with a future update, but overall a great product. Right out the gate the setup was a breeze and connected with ease. This will definitely help me dial in my club distances, especially club gapping. I look forward to seeing results from the range out on the course. I have recommended the MLM to all my friends who are looking to improve and elevate their game.

The concept is amazing and the device seems to work perfectly, but RapsodoMLM crashes too often. I’ve had two practice sessions since receiving the MLM. Both times I’ve had to restart the MLM device and app multiple times because RapsodoMLM will crash and quit just before practice starts. Once it gets going, I can hit between 5-15 shots before RapsodoMLM crashes again, and I have to start over. Please fix this because it has so much promise...

Two more quick observations that may help others. First, beware of hitting towards the setting or rising sun. The camera loses the ball and won’t register a shot. Second, although the camera based club selection seems like a cool feature, I’ve yet to get it to work. I’ve tried different clubs, lighting conditions, etc. to no avail. Save yourself the frustration and just select the club on RapsodoMLM . Better yet, enable voice command 😄

Those looking to buy this product need to hear these things (not commenting on “is it worth it”)

Pros (if you *pay* for subscription):
•You get a load of different measurements.
•Number accuracy is pretty fair. Compared it to a Top Tracer, numbers seem to be close.
•The interfaces for range are pretty nice. Nothing super flashy, but gives bare bones essentials.
•Additional features are at additional cost, but the info provided sheds light on certain ways to get better.

Cons:
•As you begin a “session”, your data is being loaded shot after shot. The sync time has a large lag if you hit multiple shots sequentially.
•Untracked shots happen more than they should. You could be hitting the same club time after time, and all of a sudden you could get a series of 1-4 shots that don’t get tracked.
•Sessions get deleted. This has happened (to me) for 6 straight sessions. This is solely app related.
•RapsodoMLM /MLM combo is absolute battery killer. I STRONGLY recommend charging both unit and phone to 100% before session.

Conclusion: At the time this is written, I would not recommend this product *YET*. They have tons of room for improvement. If you’re set on buying a personal launch monitor, consider waiting until app features are improved so you are creating more value for yourself.

First, I primarily use the launch monitor into a net at my home. When I use it at the range the distances are 10 to 20 yards different. This makes club selection very difficult.

Second, RapsodoMLM crashes several times during use. I would say it crashes around every 30 swings. I have to exit RapsodoMLM , restart and go back to my session. Meanwhile, if I didn’t notice it then it’s possible I missed several swings and there are only so many one can hit in a day. That can be a big loss of data, which is what I’m trying to accumulate. (FYI, I have a fully updated iPhone 11 Pro Max).

Third, the usability of RapsodoMLM is very poorly thought out. There are several places throughout where there are simply no buttons to exit the screen. One example is if you look at an instructors drills. There is no exit button. One must close RapsodoMLM and reopen. Other places it’s just assumed that a user can figure it out. An example is the swipe left to view videos of your swing. That took some time to figure out.

It would also be great to be able to see the swing speed instead of ball speed while in play mode.

Please work on the UX so things are obvious. I don’t want to return the MLM just because RapsodoMLM is poorly developed.

Want to improve your game and stay sharp during indoor Winter practice sessions you must have a LM. Purchased a G80 Garmin and had to return it after 1 week. Not happy with Garmin accuracy. Had my Rapsodo MLM since Christmas 2020. Same price with a big difference in performance, features and accuracy.

Video capture with with launch telemetry has given me tremendous quality feedback that is stored in the cloud for instant review. Ball and club speed is 99% accurate compared with several all other higher priced LM’s.

There has been 3 upgrade downloads since my purchase. I’m told other great upgrades to come. Like a notes section where you can make audio annotations on particular swings. Customer service is incredible. Have an issue or question drop a note to the company and they get back to you ASAP. I also got the annual subscription so I have unlimited video reviews.

*** Tip: You have to remove a magnet connector on your phone. Magnet interferes with the connections.

Best choice I could have made in a launch monitor.

I’ve had Rapsodo for about a week. It’s a neat product. Setting it up was very easy. I looked at prior reviews prior to purchasing and the one time configuration process seemed to confuse some people. The goods news is that it appears that Rapsodo found a way for the launch monitor to be auto-configured now. That means no need to configure it yourself. You can open the box, charge it up and pair it your iPhone and be ready to go within a few minutes.

As for the product and its accuracy, the carry yardages appear accurate based upon my known shot distances. The shot tracer is a cool feature and also appears accurate when comparing it to my ball flight of the shot struck.

The fact that it uses your cell phone allows them to continuously add new features without having to buy or upgrade the device itself. RapsodoMLM is really easy to use and the launch monitor is awesome. Definitely worth the purchase. Customer service is easy to work with when requesting new features such as net mode which didn’t exist until it was requested. Looking forward to see what other features they bring to this. I brought this launch monitor to my Golf Tech lesson and compared the numbers to their $50,000 foresight. They are dead on accurate. They were shocked, and for the price.

I bought my MLM last year and had high hopes for it. But I have had so many problems with it (using iPhone 11 Pro) that I could never recommend it to anyone.
Often while recording swings it will be working perfectly fine. But without fail at some point during a session it stops working. The LED on the unit will turn blue, a sign that it recognizes I took a shot, but it will not actually record it. I have to either turn it off and on again to get it to start working or move the unit around (even though it was fine for a dozen previous shots). Often while recording swings, that will be working perfectly fine.
On top of that, I paid for some coaching sessions through RapsodoMLM but there’s so many problems getting them uploaded it’s a broken experience.
Run far, far away from this unit.

I got my Rapsodo last week, charged it up and hit the range! It worked great and was so cool to see my numbers. I’m a newer golfer and I really need to get the range of each club dialed in. The stats are incredible for the price and seem to be incredibly accurate. It appears that they are working on an upgrade that will allow this to be used indoors too and I can’t wait! The only issue I had is it’s over 100 degrees in Arizona right now so my phone got too hot and I had to stop using it with the Rapsodo device. Without the phone it won’t work...nothing We can do about Arizona heat...it is what it is!

I’ve had this for about 4 months now. It’s been great to have in my bag. I respond to video much quicker and it’s definitely helped my swing.
It is easy to setup. And it does take some getting used to when starting with the unit. Be patient and adhere to the distances they recommend. You’ll need to play with the shot alignment screen to find the sweet spot. You’ll get a miss hit hear and there and it won’t track it. I’ve noticed that when that does happen it’s because I hit the shot so badly. You don’t want to see that anyway.

After a few sessions, getting enough swings in with each club for a good sample, I used lifetime stats view to see how far each club carried on average. Noticed a 30 yard gap between my shortest wedge and Gap. That necessitated a partial swing between 85 to 115. I knew there was a sizable gap there, but didn’t think it was near 30 yards. Retired a 5-wood I barely ever used and added a wedge that carries around 100. Feel like I’m using the extra wedge more often (and for more valuable shots) than the 5-wood it replaced. Overall club selection is easier knowing how far each carries on average. Love it.

Have to agree with another review that getting club head speed audio would be great since that is probably the most important input in getting better distance with a golf shot. Overall this is a great product and worth the $500 price. The company seems SaS driven though and premium features edge the functionality of the product which they cloak but giving a couple free months of premium when product is initially purchased. Accurate and easy to use. I would recommend it to get good feedback and help improve your golf swing.

The Rapsodo MLM has been instrumental in making the most of my practice. I’m new to golf and the ability to monitor swing speed, capture launch conditions and reviewing my swings to track my progress has been game changing. It is compact and super easy to setup and use. RapsodoMLM is intuitive and I love the export video feature. Who doesn’t enjoy sharing their great (and equally horrible) shots with their friends? The product also allows for some friendly competition at the range with friends (long drive, closest to the pin). Definitely get one!

Decided the shot tracer feature was the key feature separating the MLM from other launch monitors. I use this on the range with an earbud so I can have a record of my practice history and get shot by shot distance readouts in my ear without having to look back after each shot. (Would be great to have options to control what metrics RapsodoMLM reads out for each shot. Especially useful on down range shots when it’s hard to gauge distance.

I also like using this in-round to let my playing partners get a drive or two on film with metrics. Fun to have the videos to share and Spurs up good competition and smack talk.

RapsodoMLM has crashed a few times while using and I’ve also had problems with my phone overheating so hopefully these performance issues get worked out in later app updates.

Overall a great tool and golf gadget. Would def recommend.

I love the product. The launch monitor incorporates video so you can look back and see why or why not a shot was good. I have owned the MLM for 2 weeks and have already received an app update and firmware update. They are working really hard to keep this on the cutting edge. I love that your iPhone has all the data on it. It comes in handy if you want to you show someone your swing it stats, They are always with you. I am anxiously awaiting the ability to use this in a net. They say it’s coming very soon. Great product!

So far so good, I’m enjoying the device and app.
It really helped to dial in ideal launch conditions for my driver.
One (simple?) improvement would be an optional comment field for the session. I.e. if I adjust settings on a club (loft) During the session Going forward I will not record it under the same club, But rather using a “dummy club” (1i) so I can see the difference in distance, ball flight, etc. It would be nice to be able to make a note on the session where I can record my changes electronically. E.g 4h = 22 loft; 1i = 4h at 21 loft, flat lie setting.

Overall 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The ease of use and accuracy of the MLM is fantastic. I use it every practice round so I can hear and see what each shot does. I have previously reached out to the customer service about the spin data and they are working to incorporate it into RapsodoMLM . Their response was quick and pleasant. Once spin data is added occurs it will undoubtedly be 5 out of 5 stars. I get questions about the MLM every time I use it and hopefully I put people onto a tremendous product.

The Rapsodo Mobile Launch Monitor is an amazing piece of gear. It is extremely accurate. I did a direct comparison against Foresight at my work. The MLM really kept pace with the much more expensive unit across all data points. Its lightweight, portable size makes it the perfect tool to take to the range and get the instant feedback needed to improve and get the most out of practice sessions. I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone wanting to improve their game.

After some hiccups with bugs in the first releases, the system has stabilized nicely and is functioning as desired

... well nearly... with one caveat which is the overheating of your iphone if left in the sun on your MLM -even if the weather is cool-. The combination of the black screen picking up heat and RapsodoMLM intense use of the processor leads the phone to a shutdown to prevent overheating...

any patch that one could put over the phone screen to avoid this? Or offer a different add-on device to record the shot? Option to not use a phone for video if we just want distance and ball soeee?

But in the shade it’s a great practice tool, that delivers on its promise, with significant potential to get even better with future updates (e.g., tracking progress over time, better “games”/ virtual course, ...)

I have not gotten a chance to use this outside yet, but inside it works great. I have a net set up and I can take shots during my lunch break. I have seen a lot of improvement in my shots on the course because of this. The only problem is the occasional time when RapsodoMLM crashes or does not capture the ball. This is only a small bother as the rest of the time it works great and helps me keep track of each club’s stats!

Tried to create an account. Never received an email verifying my account but when I tried to log in, app indicated email is already in use. So, I reset password and app says success! Great!! But when I try to log in, says wrong password or I have to verify account. I have never received an email to verify my account so that leaves me unable to use the MLM at this point.

I see all of these great reviews so perhaps an issue with Rapsodo servers or something to that affect but until I can rectify this, I’m giving this the lowest rating I can. I’ll wait a few more days before I just return the MLM and take my business elsewhere.

My wife gave me an MLM for my birthday and I’ve used it every day since. RapsodoMLM gives me a clear view of my club gapping and the ability to analyze my shots through the recordings. I’ve been able to improve my game remarkably by testing minor changes using a net and mat in my garage. I would definitely recommend to a friend. It does randomly crash on me occasionally. If they fix it, I will upgrade to 5 stars.

I have played competitive golf throughout my adult life but I found myself recently in a rut of inconsistency. I purchased the MLM and was immediately able to recognize features of my swing through the video overlay that needed corrected. The statistics provided also helped me fine tune my yardages as well. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to quickly improve their game.

I’ve used a lot of golf products over the year to help my game. But this one is by far the best one for immediate feedback. It also come at a fraction of the cost of other launch monitors. I would like to see maybe an app for the Apple Watch where I could change clubs and see the data from the previous swings. But al in all this is a great product and app

Absolutely fabulous. I received it about 2 weeks ago. I have used it numerous times so easy to setup only takes seconds. Figured out a couple gaps between clubs. Well worth the price for all the data you get. The video capability also allowed me to see a flaw in my swing that I am now working through to correct

Excellent overall product

I started out early in the season on the range with my MLM. I developed a great swing with my driver. After the COVID 19 hit early March my work schedule changed and golf pretty much ended. When I returned to the course I had lost my swing with the driver. I had to fix it and fix it fast. Thanks to the Rapsodo I was able to see what had changed in my swing and corrected it. Yesterday I shot 3 under at Oceanview Golf course.

I compared all the low cost MLM and ultimately decided on the Rapsodo MLM because of the video recording of shot trace. The setup was easy and it connects to my Xs in seconds. However, the phone does get hot after 20 mins of play, so I ended up putting a battery powered fan to keep my phone cool.
As far as the shot goes, I wish there is Apex info, otherwise this MLM is great!
