4.8 out of 5

Poor user experience , session management

2022-05-22

Doesn’t remember my subscription and always have read on web instead

Something called Tech Review should at least have basic functionality

2022-06-23

Doesn’t hold your reading position, can’t read offline.

Misleading Scam

2022-07-24

This is a scam. It is not an actual magazine subscription in the sense that nearly every other similar app is. It (1) provides no access to the same content outside MITTechnologyReview (e.g., on the website) and (2) does not support standard iOS features like sharing links or bookmarking or opening in the browser. It should probably be removed from MITTechnologyReview store.

Paid for subscription via Apple - app will not let me login

2022-08-25

The credit card attached to my appleID has been charged for the subscription I made - but MITTechnologyReview doesn’t recognize the associated email — so I have now paid $50 for content I cannot access.

Waiting to hear back from help desk to confirm they will issue a refund.

Keeps reloading whenever I open the app

2022-09-26

Keeps reloading and refreshing whenever I reopen MITTechnologyReview . Cannot multitask at all. Surprising considering it's 2022.

Good articles BUT super bad app

2022-10-27

- MITTechnologyReview doesn’t store on which page you stopped reading
- you cannot adjust the font size
- doesn’t sync across devices

App does not work well - can’t login access my paid subscription

2022-11-28

On iPad, login prompts for user id, but not password. Don’t know if I’m logged in or not, can’t access back issues.

Apps basic functionality does not work - MIT please fix this.

Glitchy

2022-12-29

Good content, poor user experience

Always Resetting

2023-01-30

Every time my screen turns off and I open MITTechnologyReview back up the article resets to the top and I have to go and find my place again. This is annoying. Also it would be nice to be able to download articles so I could read them on a plane or in the subway.

Too rudimentary app

2023-03-03

MITTechnologyReview is like horse drawn chariot in the days of electric cars. Other than display the text in English(thankfully), it has no functionality. I give the stars to the contents and none to MITTechnologyReview itself. Imagine it is already version 1.7. It should be beta 0.7 for a technology magazine app.

Not Synchronized with Web Subscription

2023-04-01

I purchased the subscription on the phone using the credit card saved in my app store. Then later I want to access from web page, it doesn’t find my account and cannot access any issue.

Very slow in loading

2023-05-03

Ironically that a technology review magazine from MIT has a sub par app.

Needs Work

2023-06-03

I use MITTechnologyReview on my iPad. It is very surprising that an app with the MIT representation, would not have incorporated some basic features such as being able to adjust font size to make it more accessible to this of us who are visually challenged.
The content is great, please improve the accessibility functions of MITTechnologyReview !

Functionality is still poor

2023-07-05

MITTechnologyReview is still not as seamless as the economist or wsj. But there is progress

No audio read back option

2023-08-05

I love MIT Technology Review & I’m a subscriber. However I’m also dyslexic. I wish there was a more accessible / inclusive option to have the text read aloud.

Wish more features can come out

2023-09-06

Love their content for sure, but I hope MITTechnologyReview can display the articles on the website like Harvard Business Review does.

Would be five if you could change font size

2023-10-08

It’s fine for me but this would be difficult to read for anybody had trouble with small print. Seems like an easy thing to fix!??

Great app; wish I could save stories into an easily accessible cache

2023-11-08

Great content - tiny font - lacks bookmarks

2023-12-10

MIT, your content is excellent and informative. MITTechnologyReview desperately needs customization for font size, currently too tiny. Pickup where you last left off or bookmarking would be more than welcome. Thanks!

Great app...finally and thank you !

2024-01-10

Always enjoyed Technology Review. Now I can red it offline and search prior issues...wow !

Log in issues

2024-12-17

Can’t properly log in - does not load password input page.

Basic functionality missing

2024-12-17

Can not change font size
Can not mark text or highlight
No bookmarks, need to use paper notes to remember where I left
...

Please add this features, thx

Subscription does not include website

2024-12-17

Fine Print: "subscribing in this way does not include unlimited access to technologyreview.com"

FAIL

i lost $35 buy not reading the fine print... if you want MITTechnologyReview AND website access, you must open your account and spend the $35 on the website. Apparently you are punished for using Apple to setup an annually recurring subscription. How does that make sense?

I just cancelled my subscription and will continue to buy at the airport newsstand once my remaining issues run out.
