Does not work correctly

Used to use previous app Bond bridge. It worked Great. This new app, not so much. When integrating bond with SmartThings and Alexa there are issues. Such as when Alexa searches for new devices, it pulls from both ST and Bond creating two copies of a device. Creating a conflict where Alexa and ST cannot control any bond device. So you have to delete the ST version of bond device from Alexa (which does not have full functionality such as controlling fan speed) in order to be able to use Alexa to control bond devices. Another problem is when I tell Alexa to turn on my bedroom fan light it may work but most of the time it does not. And if it does work you cannot shut off the light via Alexa. You have to use manual remote or bond app. I use ST routines such as “good night” to shut off all my light (including bedroom fan light) and set bedroom fan speed to low. Used to work on old bond app but now the light won’t change states but the fan speed will change. I hope I can go back to old app until this one is fixed.

Great concept, works flawlessly for most devices

For things like lights and ceiling fans, BondHome is a breeze to setup and works exactly like you would expect. A few strange conditions if you control the device from the native remote it may cause the state to be represented incorrectly in BondHome . Biggest improvement I could see is in blind operation. We have Smith & Noble blinds, which I would think are relatively common remote control blinds. BondHome allows me to raise and lower the bottom of the blind, but the native remote allows me to raise and lower the top of the blind as well. There is no configuration for that in the Bond app, so if the blinds aren’t fully open or fully closed, I really cannot use the Bond app to control my blinds. Still, for what is supported, it works really well.

Bond and bond pro hub

I absolutely love bond. Finally a great product to be able to control my fans, fire place and blinds. But also just about all my non ip and non ir devices. Plus to be able to integrate it right into Control4!!!
I gave it only 5 stars only because I have one of the original bond hubs and just got my bond pro hub, but it will not let me just transfer all my devices that are on the original bond hub right to the pro hub. Basically I have to start all over and the biggest problem is that my son lost the fireplace remote a year ago. We never cared because it was already learned into the bond hub. But now that I am upgrading to the pro, I need the remote and don’t want to spend $75 for a new one just to learn it in 1 time. Because it is a weird brand , I needed the original remote in the beginning to learn it in.
Other than that and that I had to pay $100 for the Control4 driver so bond will work in Control4, I love bond. I even learned in a projector screen remote so I have 1 button “movie time” and Control4 does everything including bringing down the projector screen !!!

Long time user of Bond, still a great product for most ceiling fans

I have had bond for at least 5+ years now, it’s a great product for adding “smart” integration to dumb devices like ceiling fans. Over the years BondHome has evolved quite nicely. The controls just work, and the responsiveness is great. We have a pretty good assortment of fans in our house; 2 Hunters, 2 Home Depot (home decorators collection), and 1 Hampton Bay. They are all remote controlled and all ported over to Bond flawlessly.

My ONE gripe is; BondHome allows you to define fans by their room, and then it lists the icon for each fan in a single vertical row. I wish they allowed you to rearrange the tiles so that you could go 2 or 3 icons wide instead of them stacking all in one row. This issue is especially noticeable on our iPad, in landscape mode you have alllllll this room to the right of the main Home Screen, and all of the fan icons are left justified in a single stack. Would be nice to make use of the space and re-arrange as needed.

Working fine but…

BondHome has been working fine so far. But I have only used it few times just to set up my roller shades and add the to schedule. Then I added my shades to Alexa app since it is easier to control through Alexa. Mainly the feature that is missing in Bond app that you can’t control a group of devices. You can group devices by location , but then you can’t do anything with it. It would be great if I could add three roller shades from one location to a group and then be able to open/close all of them at the same time. Further be able to nest groups and control them as well. For example, if I have devices in rooms on one or the side of the house; or if I want to combine them by floors…

Love it but could be more

I replaced my Somfy URTSII with the Bond Pro hub. The range is much better and it is much more reliable working with groups of Somfy RTS motors. After upgrading to Bond, I rarely find a window where one of the grouped motors did not respond to the open or close command from Bond. Also, Bonds ability to track the state of the RTS motor is amazing. I I use their 5 button controls for the large rooms with many shades. I have two rooms with one window each. There I use Lutron Caseta Pico switches integrated with a HomeSeer hub to relay open and close commands with the Bond Pro Hub. This keeps the state of all windows in perfect sync with the Bond Pro Hub. I use the Bond app to watch my home when I am not there. The one thing that would make BondHome better is to add the state of the motor, open or closed, on the Home Screen. I have twenty shades in the house and checking each window is a pain. I also use Alexa as a speech engine. It would be really cool if Groups of shades configured in Bond could be orchestrated through the speech engine. Thank you, It just works.

Best gadget ever

We have 8 ceiling fans in our house. It’s so nice to go to bed and think “Did anyone shut off the fans in the Great Room?” and then to just grab your phone and shut them off without getting out of bed. The couple of times I’ve needed tech support, they’ve been amazing—even sending a message a day or so later to see if things were still doing okay. While we still keep the remotes handy for the ceiling fans, they’re rarely used. We’re “early adopters,” and try new technology when it seems like something useful; this is far and away the best piece of technology we found in that it does what it says, makes your life easier, and is supported by the folks who make it.

Bond over the years

I was an early adopter and continue to use bond to control my fans.
It’s been awhile since utilizing their support but it needs to be said.
They were very helpful and bent over backwards to work with me when device problems occurred. Even though I haven’t delved deeper into the additional capabilities, I want to say thank you to them and to say to you, give Bond a try, what they accomplished, way before many others, is just amazing. Looking forward to continued use of an amazing device and know that it has saved me so much time and trouble over the years I’ve used it by making some technologies inherently better.

It works!!!

No complaints about the functioning of BondHome and bridge. It does what you expect. I do wish there was a way to rename commands in BondHome . For instance, the fan lights show up as “fan uplight” and “fan downlight” which is weird. But still functional. The other thing is I wish there was better support for fireplaces. I have a Superior brand FP and because the remote uses the same button for different functions, the bond app can’t be programmed. For instance I have to press two buttons in sequence to turn on the fire. Bond doesn’t support that. Still love it though as it is the best way to control screens, fans, and shades from different manufacturers!

Works without internet / cloud

I hardly ever take time to post a review, but the fact that this company continues to support the capability that allows you to control its devices within your own network is so critical (using local API option). For applications using storm electric shutters, knowing that you can get your shades down / up is a huge safety consideration and many times the internet is compromised during major storm events. In contrast, other companies are using strictly cloud based control and as such when the internet goes out during a storm the storm shutters had to be manually operated. Thank the Team for supporting local API functionality!

Love it!

This was exactly what I was needing to complete my home automation. My fans actually didn’t have remote controls but I purchased a universal remote for each of my 5 fans and with this I can now turn on lights or the fans with voice control (Alexa) or with BondHome . It worked flawlessly once I figured it out and saved me a ton of money since I didn’t have to replace my old fans for new remote controlled or smart fans. When I first installed it I was having issues but I figured out that it was conflicts with what I was naming them that caused the problem. For example naming it living room instead of living room fan. Once I corrected that it has worked perfectly for more than a year. Excellent product!

SHOCKED great thing to have

This works great easy to set up just need your remote. I have this connected to 4 fans some led cabinet lights that had a remote a fireplace as well. Just wish it would work keeping track of the state it was in (on/off). I have had this since 2017 and it works great just tried to do an update and it failed to finish so it stopped working would not connect back to my WiFi network. I contacted them about what had happened over chat and they just needed some information about the unit. They had me send unit back to them and once they received it they sent me a new unit I was SHOCKED that they still took care of the unit after that long 2 1/2 years later. No cost to me either amazing.

Great for automating fans

When I first bought this I thought it would be for one room only so just bought 1 to try out and see if I liked it. To my suprime, the reach it has is more than expected. I have the Bond Hub in my master bedroom upstairs and controls the ceiling fan and light great. Just out of curiosity I was able to setup my downstairs living room fan without issue. I would say a good 50 - 70 feet feet and across walls it was able to control the other light. I was also able to add the ceiling fan from other rooms to the setup. I was happily surprised. Needless to say I highly recommend this product for automating your ceiling fans. FYI ... I bought Hunter ceiling fans with built in remote and it controlled them just fine.

Bond Bridge

I’ve had my back patio roller shades for about a year. I bought a Bond Bridge when they were installed but didn’t hook it up; I just used the shades remote. This month I took the time to set up the bridge and it’s so nice. I can control the shades from anywhere when traveling and protect my patio from storms. I can also use voice control through Alexa to control the bridge from inside the house. I can closed all shades at once or individually. I can also open any or all of the shades to a percent open or closed by phone app or Alexa. The best feature is being able to set a schedule to have the shades close partially or fully daily to keep the western facing sun exposure off of the patio to keep the house cool inside. Support was excellent via chat to help me with the set up process and troubleshooting. Very pleased so far. Time will tell.

New App Works Great Now.

New app auto identifies my Minka Aire as having two lights and dimmer. It had no dimmer. It has only one light. But the other buttons work. It used to be you could accept this and then edit/remove the buttons thag are not relevant. But now of you accept the identified remote BondHome will not let you do that. so i can accept the non working buttons for ed on me by this stupid app or record all 9 coomands manually. This is why i dropped it from 5 stars to 3.

Changing rating from 3 to 5. New app now has an edit function which lets me remove the buttons which are not relevant to my model. Also I did have issues with WiFi connection after firmware updates before. Now it updates, reboots and reconnects flawlessly. This is an essential smart home device if you have dumb fans.

Great Customer Service Experience!

Aside from my ceiling fan that was very easy to connect to the Bond Bridge, I was also able to program two other devices that have not been part of my smart home repertoire until now. I was able to do this with the help of the customer service team who has been very prompt in providing answers to my questions.

I know that the Bond team is always improving BondHome because I have seen a couple of beta features — one of which allows me to set schedules for my devices. I hope that in the very near future the Bond team would be able to apply the comments I have made on the Google Assistant integration of the reverse function for ceiling fans and on the ability of users to program customizable buttons aside from on, off, and toggle.

Fantastic and simple

I am absolutely satisfied. I have my bond set up to control two fans with remote controls. One of my fan remotes required me to set up each button to be copied on the remote. However, the bond app already had a setting for my second remote and I only had to accept that setting. I can control both my ceiling fans and the ceiling fan lights. I can also utilize the dimmer function with my bedroom ceiling fan via BondHome . I have the bond setup in my hallway, and it sends a signal to my bedroom and living room ceiling fan. I could not get BondHome to read my IR remotes, but apparently, ceiling fans are RF, so, there was no problem with the programming.
BondHome itself, is simple and straightforward, and also has options for setting schedules.
There is no lag time between BondHome and the device. All in all, it is great.

Amazing product!

We bought a home and had electricity ran to a ceiling fan box however we decided we needed some more lighting so we added some high hats to be ran off the (only) switch installed . This left the ceiling fan box with constant power . I decided the get a cheep ceiling fan with a remote to turn off and on but this eventually presented a problem as my kids would not put the remote back and we were stuck with the fan on or lights on till the remote was found . Then I found BOND ! I was able to quickly connect the remotes and operate the fans (did I mention we have 2? ) once hooked up I felt compelled to write a review because not only does this product do what it says it can do but also ADDED the functionality of being able to dim the LED light within the fan . The original remote could not do this !

Just what I needed

I had remote controlled fans but none on wired switches. I wanted to make them smart fans but didn’t want to change out the controls in all the fans. Then I discovered this device. It was very easy to setup. Just a few minutes per fan to configure the remote and app sync. Each of my remotes had a preconfigured remote in BondHome that was discovered with one click each time. The single device is able to control 6 fans (all I have) all over the house. I was wondering if it would reach up and down statues. NO PROBLEM. Up, down stairs and front, back of house. Connects to them all. I put the device close to each fan at setup but it reaches them all from one location near the middle of house.

I love this thing. Able to set automations, control with Alexa and many other possibilities.

Very convenient

The Bond makes controlling all of our home appliances (ceiling fans, lights, etc) right at our fingertips super easy and convenient. And BondHome is super easy to navigate as well. If you have any type of question on how to work your bond device, you can type the question into the search box and it will answer your question and give you a guide on how to do it. That feature really came in handy when we changed our wifi and needed to connect our bond to our new wifi. You can also add other bond compatible devices to your bond straight from BondHome . I definitely recommend the bond and the bond app.
