There’s nothing smart about these products. Their own customer service can’t figure out what’s wrong with them when they do eventually decide to respond. And now that the apps no longer integrate to IFTTT, these apps are absolutely useless. Do yourself a favor and pay more for a better product and app. Oh and the “smart” part of InkbirdSmart can’t talk to any other app anymore, not even Alexa because Smart Things no longer integrates this thermostat into Alexa.

I love my InkBird WiFi controller. The controller itself works like a champ. As others have said the graph in InkbirdSmart needed work. It was functional, but there was no way to change the vertical axis scale. But at least it worked. That changed about 3 weeks ago in late April 2021. The scale on the graph now goes from 4 at the top to -4 on the bottom. If it is working, the trend line is way off the graph. I would still recommend using InkbirdSmart , because I can still look at the current temperature in real time, as well as change the settings.

Hey, so it looks like a great app and it has a great rating, but I have an Inkbird itc-308 and it isn’t the kind showed where you can connect it with Wi-Fi. It would be very useful if I could use InkbirdSmart to check on the temperature of my pet hedgehog while I’m out of the house. I hope that you could help me out and help me figure out a new way without purchasing a newer version. Thank you.

I wasn’t happy about creating an account to connect to my own LAN. (which is patently absurd) But InkbirdSmart worked quite fine and allowed me to (albeit a bit cumbersomely) set a temp schedule to slowly crash my beer. But then the update happened and InkbirdSmart disconnected from my device without telling me, so I lost control and critical temp data. It is not intuitive that you show toggles for automation for a device once viewing the device, but can only edit those automations if you back out all the way to the home screen. I first thought you had removed the ability to add or delete steps (or even delete criteria) but now I see that is just in a different place. This should be more intuitive and consolidated. Don’t have two different places in an app to do nearly the same thing. Also, use the built-in iOS keyboard! Don’t recreate the wheel!

Too a few tries to get it to link to the Inkbird controller, but works well once connected.

Biggest usability issue is fixed ranges/scale on historic data graph (I.e., it doesn’t use your min and max temperature settings or data minimums and maximums fo pick the range shown in the graph, so if you’re regulating over a narrow range you won’t see much movement.

Units are well constructed and WiFi is solid. Zero complaints. One area where significant improvement opportunity lies, is the trending function of InkbirdSmart . I have a ton of ideas for improving that; developers so inclined please feel free to contact me. Hence, 4 instead of 5 stars.

Great app, everything seems to work pretty well. My only complaint is the temp trend chart. It’s poorly designed, having to scroll left to right to see the day, no autofocus to the current time, or ability to customize the ranges in the chart. Some small changes would be a huge improvement here and hence the 1 star drop.

Messing with smart switches and apps for several years, even becoming a beta tester for one, I can see the potential in InkbirdSmart.
The inkbird heating hysteresis and cooling back temperature settings are confusing, even to me as a 34 year instrument technician who specializes in temperature, pressure, level, and flow control. It works nothing like standard deviation settings are expected to work.
One huge improvement would be to add an option to re-order the smart devices. They aren’t always added in order of importance, and being able to re-order the devices the way I like them would be ideal. Yes, other apps already have this option.
Other than that, keep up the good work. I look forward to these improvements and my use of many more inkbird devices.

My initial setup was quite difficult because the device only connects to 2.4GHz yet my phone prefers 5. My wifi router won't not let me name my 5 and 2.4 GHz networks with different names so my Orbi is partly to blame too. Eventually I disabled 5GHz, set up manually (not automatic mode), then turned on 5GHz again. It has been a solid app since then.

InkbirdSmart is easy to use and functions very well. The daily graphs are convenient but not very accurate because they only pull temperature data points every 15 minutes so the temperature changes between the 15 minute intervals are not reflected in the displayed graph.

I purchased the Inkbird Pro and while it works manually I wanted to also have it on my phone for convenience. DO NOT download the Inkbird Pro app unless you want to be frustrated after dozens of unsuccessful attempts. InkbirdSmart was much easier to install. I was successful on my second attempt.
The Inkbird Sous Vide seems to be of good quality, heats up quickly, and is quite. Saved a lot of money over the Anova and the Joule.

The graph function is pretty useless and can easily be made more useful by expanding the view so temp changes can actually be seen on the graph. The text in the settings menu is bunched up and currently does not line up and is hard to read but other than that InkbirdSmart works as promised and has already saved my reef aquarium multiple times from faulty heaters and power outages notifying me on my smartphone of these issues.

I love my this app especially for monitoring it with the WiFi functionality. It keeps temperatures right on the money. Learning to use it was a bit difficult since the instructions are not that clear, but I got over that fairly quick. My biggest complaint is the temp/trend diagram. The diagram is on a line chart, simple to read, but the X axis of the graph has 18° increments of temperature. This is far too large of a spread to be able to accurately use the graph. It would be nice if a. Update to the program included a closer temperature range than 18°!

I have this this app humidifier now a little over a year. I use it in my coldsmoker in autumn and winter to increase the humidity to make mainly sausages.
I have a heater controller as well, but that is controlled with a PID without wifi connection.
I like that the humidity sensor has a very fast response time which is exactly what I need for my purposes.
I like that you can see also trend curves over time, but while the actual humidity value display in InkbirdSmart is refreshed often, the trend graph shows only every 15min values. It does only auto-scale on the Y-axis for the humidity and x-axis has one time scale which you can scroll forward or backwards for one day. So if you want to see the previous day, you need to go one Menu back and select the previous day.
I have some problems getting the alarm on my app to work, but that’s not so important for me.
I would prefer also to be able to download the data with shorter time steps rather than just see them in InkbirdSmart , but that’s not offered by them.
Overall it works reliable and I’m glad I can monitor the humidity over InkbirdSmart .

I own 2 of these,use them for electric heaters in 2 grow tents through the winter. The thermostats on the small space heaters has too much of a variant. I keep them set with a 1 degree variant and works great. The WiFi on these is really handy as my tents are under a porch that is enclosed outside., I get piece of mind seeing on InkbirdSmart that all is well temperature wise. Seem to be of good quality.

Having the ability to see my temperature readings on my fermenter and keezer from across the country is imperative. I can make step-temp adjustments for lagering from anywhere. I’m on the go quite frequently, and the Wi-Fi feature gives me flexibility, and InkbirdSmart is so much easier to use than the push-button face of the unit itself.

I’ve been using inkbird wifi temperature controllers for over 2 years and couldn’t be happier with them! The company does a great job and seems to care about their product and updates to it.

Inkbird smart temperature and humidity controller are the best on the market. Best price, best customer service, reliable products. Had a problem with WiFi connection, controller offline. Inkbird sent me two new controller right away.

I’ve always had trouble eyeballing when my steak was done. This takes the guesswork out. I leave the prong in while cooking and just set the temperature in InkbirdSmart . Once the steak hits 130 in the thickest section, remove from heat and let it sit for a few mins. Then you will be like a hero serving perfect steaks at Med rare for the family.

I use InkbirdSmart to control various lamps. It is invaluable. It controls a socket from a different manufacturer as well as the multi-plug unit that is associated with it, which I didn’t expect but it’s very handy. I like the ability to name each socket so it’s really clear what I’m switching on or off. The range is very good, it works when I’m in a different room.
