About Focus

Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal.

Our technology lets you burn through all those books and articles that have been piling up by making speed reading easy even for someone with no training.

Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s Account Settings after purchase.

Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.

Each word appears in the same place on the screen, your eye can stay fixed on that point while words flip through more quickly than you could hunt them down on a page.

You can read any books in DOC, DOCX or TXT (simple text file), EPUB, ZIP formats.

Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase.

The average adult reading speed is 250 wpm.

Indeed, using the application gives a strong impression that you can read very quickly.

With Focus app, you could double or even triple that speed after just a little bit of practice.

You’d probably be more comfortable at 350 wpm, which is slightly higher than the 250 wpm that most people average.

With this technology you’ll read fast like never before.

Could be better

User friendly but I’m disappointed I cannot import a book from my books app with ease. It seems I have to “copy” and drag/highlight section to paste over. Saving from the web is easy for articles.

Ugly situation here.

Crippleware, subscription, doesn’t work that well.

It looks cooler than Spreed or Spritz (for instance), but doesn’t pause for punctuation or speed up for smaller words. Why should “it” take the same amount of time on screen as “disgusting”?

Would totally use this if it had these features and an easy way to import texts, except I hate the subscription model so very much and the amount of money they want is crazy.

If you organize the reviews by most recent it’s ALL ONE STARS until you get down to bots.

Take this off Focus store and stop wasting people’s time

Works on the web, but...

None of the file formats listed in the compatible file types will load into Focus when I email myself a file as instructed...

High Sierra to iPhone X with latest iOS

Deserves zero stars

App doesn’t work at all tried uploading epubs multiple different ways got an error every time switched to another app and worked perfectly the first time plus Focus has bad settings and bad texture.

Needs faster speeds

I’m already at 700 wpm I wanted to go faster but it only goes up to 700

This app is a rip off if u want to read books

Good luck loading a book to read, if you figure it out pls keep me in the loop.

What the hell

I literally downloaded this and it automatically submitted a subscription cost me $10

Learning

Personally I feel learning to become a faster reader should be free.

Terrible app

Focus is a waste of time.

Just Nope

Focus is a very simple app that had no thought or creativity. It’s simple to flash words across the screen at a certain pace. There really isn’t anything preloaded. You would think it would have a library of samples that you could choose from everyday and it would tell you how much you improved. This is not the case there is nothing preloaded you have to do it all yourself or surf the internet which doesn’t make sense. Who knows a good website they want to speed read through? It gives you instructions on what you have to do in order to get the stuff you want downloaded. Shouldn’t it be their job to take out all of the hard work instead of us? And lastly the only thing I could think of that would be good with this was the books I have on kindle. They do not have access to these books which is something they should look into. Focus is not worth the trouble of what it says it will help you with.

Disgusting

Upon opening Focus to access anything you need to pay. I of course took the $9.99 subscription with a three day free trial and canceled it right away. Finally being able to access this terrible app I noticed this:
1) they only had one preset note which you could read and you have to make and type out what you want to write. I repeat. $9.99 a month and you have to make the rest of what you want to read. Utter bs (Boy Scouts)
2) The menu doesn’t even take the full page as it only has 5 dang options.
3) It doesn’t even make its on material as you have to import books and websites.

I am disgusted by what a piece of garbage app that you have to pay $9.99 for. It shouldn’t even be free. They should be paying us for being so stupid and scamming the heck out of so many people. I hope this developer becomes some dopehead living under a bridge for how low they have brought themselves to be. And by the way pretty much all of these 5 star reviews are from bots because they clearly don’t realize that it is fraud and they can get screwed over for having bots lie about their product. To anyone who reads this review I suggest you report Focus to apple to get it down from its 45% 5 star all bots) to lower than a 0%. Should not be 3 star rated but more like 1 representing this cold developer.

(I wish i could cuss on this and cuss these developers out)

How to use this app

Focus is designed for speed readers and it’s also good for learning speed reading first you have to tap iPhone then you will get a black screen where you can copy and paste any words you want make sure it’s long like an article then copy paste it in there then save it. When you tap the folder u saved it in you can choose your reading speed the average in United States is 250 so you can bump that up to 300 if the words are too fast that you can’t read anything bump it down if it’s too slow bump it up eventually you have to increase the speed again and you will get better over time.

No free version

I’m tired of these false advertisements that get you to download Focus before they tell you that you have to pay monthly or that it’s a trial. Once you download Focus there’s no way you can use it unless you subscribe to there free trial in which they will later charge you a 9.99 weekly subscription that “unlocks all features”. These apps are a bad rep for us as consumers. Basic functionalities should at least be an option if your going to have the user download Focus before they download it and find out they can’t use it. They just want to advertise they have so many downloads by numbers but probably don’t have that many users. I deleted Focus as soon as I downloaded.

Really bad, and may be a potential scam!

So it was advertised that it was free, and it says it is free. But when you download it you don’t get a glimpse of Focus or even get to try it, an unclose-able screen pops up and you have to pay to even look around. You can’t see what Focus is like in the advertisement nor you can in the actual app.

In conclusion Focus is not worth it and there are many websites that do it for free. It’s essentially useless and they say it themselves in the advertisement: “There is no such thing as speed reading”. Plus, Focus won’t really help you to read fast it’s just a test to see how you can read and is a gimmick.

Dishonest

I’m all for apps trying to make a buck for their work, but Focus does it dishonestly, and tries to trick people into signing up for long expensive subscriptions under the guise of a “free” trial. If your curiosity gets the better of you and you decide to do the “free” trial make sure you cancel the subscription through your Apple ID setting - simply deleting Focus will not work - or you’ll be unwittingly forking out massive amounts of money for an app you spent five seconds on. Seriously, Focus is garbage and so sneaky that I still feel the paranoid need to watch my bank account in case they try to access it.
