Receipt Lens - Expense Tracker Reviews

ReceiptLens has freed up so much of my time. I used to go through each receipt keeping records of sales tax (tax deductible), until I found Receipt Lens! Now, I snap a photo, it organizes the receipts, and enters the sales tax and the total paid from each receipt into excel. Once you export the report to your email, it automatically adds up all the receipts for you so you know how much you paid in sales tax and how much you paid over all. It works really well and so far, no errors found. I don’t know how I went so long without this! Great App!!

ReceiptLens does ALMOST everything. The export feature is spot on. And I like the simplicity of it. Good design. Not overwhelming to learn or visual sensory overload. Those are all good things. Some improvements need to be made to the categorisation system. It isn’t accurate. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but it took a Whole Foods receipt and categorised it as office supplies. Something that says food and has food items all over the receipt is not an ambiguous categorisation. In addition, it needs to divide the categories into a chart or graph so you can identify what your expenses are going toward. Where’s an app that can take a pic of a receipt, categorise it appropriately, and then show a charted or graphed summary of the data? Combine that with the export and business features ReceiptLens already has.. Now that would be a powerful budgeting and recording app suited for everyone’s needs.

I seldom if ever give a negative review to an App. I do know there are people working and App need to have a price. However, I bought this one by mistake (my fault), I didn’t realize they were charging $99 just a week later.
ReceiptLens is not worth 99$ at all, it is too simple, and what it give you is not much. A scan, and a total grouped in folders. That is not much, and doesn’t justify that amount of money.
Moreover, I use ReceiptLens to keep track of expenses in US$, I scan receipts in US$, but ReceiptLens recognize that I am not in the US and converts the amount from another currency into US$. Absurd!
The online version is also poorly done, a simple spreadsheet, nothing more. That again is not worth that money. There are other Apps that do the same with better interface for free.
I paid, I shall keep it for a while not to feel too bad, then I shall delete it.

ReceiptLens is actually fantastic.. for the most part. This is easily a five star app but I have to give it a one star rating in hopes that this company recognizes they are missing on a huge point.

Return Receipts…

Unfortunately if you scan a receipt that’s a return it keeps the number positive instead of negative so you can not accurately keep track of your “total” in specific folders. This is a massive miss for exporting when it’s tax season. It doesn’t seam that updating your app to reflect the negative symbol would be very difficult to do. Once this is corrected I would easily change my review to 5stars. Until then I highly recommend looking else ware and not spending any additional money on the subscription for ReceiptLens!

It’s a fantastic little app that takes a simple task and helps with tracking and reporting. I use it for personal and business needs. It allows you to take a pic of your receipt, and from that it will prefill the line items for you. It doesn’t always get it right, but for an automated system it’s pretty good. It’s fast enough to not be cumbersome and it allows you to add categories and folders or a note to help with delineating the expenses you might want have to track, and you can export the info too.

ReceiptLens is just what I was looking for. It recognizes almost perfectly, 98% accuracy, the date, the total amount, the tax, the net amount and lets you put them into categories with folders. There are over 15-20 categories already and you can add, edit or delete them. It keeps a running total and lets you export the items however you want, whenever you want without any additional charges. Amazing!

We paid the money to be able to share with me and my spouse to be able to add receipts as we go. This still doesn’t work, been a year almost. And the customer support Ha! We’ve been trying to get this to work from the beginning and we were supposed to be moved up to the next level after months of trying to get this to work and still doesn’t let more than one person be able to use. But ReceiptLens for keeping track of receipts of the one person works pretty well.

I had hoped to find a suitable program to replace NEAT Receipts, the long overpriced and buggy commercial program. I was excited to use Receipt Lens during the trial period because it seemed to meet all of my needs. Once I subscribed to 1 year of use the program seems to have deteriorated significantly. Scanned receipt processing times out before completion, and I cannot even manually add a receipt at this time. (My efforts to contact technical support for a different issue earlier were met with no response at all.) Needless to say, I am disappointed. I would like a refund of my subscription fee, and I will go back to NEAT Receipts until someone creates a better program. Or, at least, responds to user issues.

Look, this receipt storage and organization app STILL is really the only one I found that actually applies laser focus to receipts. It’s easy to use. It works very neatly 100% of the times used. Sometimes ReceiptLens cant see the vendor’s name. But the thing that gets me to pay for the service is the customer support. But ReceiptLens and service with confidence.

I’ve been driving professionally for about 10 years and this is a very handy app to have on my phone however I wish it was cheaper. More people would use this product if it was cheaper, even though I have to enter everything manually it’s not a problem I still love ReceiptLens very much! Five stars all day and every day!

I absolutely love ReceiptLens and I honestly don’t have any negative to say. ReceiptLens is very helpful and i don’t have to worry about staking my receipts all in my purse and wallet. I literally take a picture and and upload all of information on the receipt or make sure the information matches up & I can throw it away. 👍🏾 Major things up for me.

As a small business owner, I was in search of a device or application that would allow me to quickly scan expense receipts - and after doing my research - Receipt Lens really came out on top! ReceiptLens is super easy to use and it exports my scans to QuickBooks! If you run a small business - be sure to get ReceiptLens!

I like ReceiptLens to take pics of receipts. Very easy to edit for exact dollars and can separate into categories. Email pics of receipts is nice except that you need to download to your computer in 7 days. However, you can just check them off and resend again.

After a few months of utilizing the application I can no longer see any receipts that my employees take pictures of. I can see the amounts but no pictures. I have contacted the customer service several times with no response. I hate to write a bad review but they have left me no choice. My company was dependent on ReceiptLens. I guess this is what I get. We are now back to sending screenshots.

I have tried 4 other apps and this one is the most simple and by far the best. Every time I scanned receipts and all the other apps they would never auto fill in. ReceiptLens even with crappy receipts can read it and it auto fills. What an amazing out and thank you to the developers

This works really well but I don’t understand why it is free. I am an app developer and understand that this would take quite an amount of time to write and support. Good job! How are you getting paid for ReceiptLens?

Looking for alternative to business travel expense tracker I’ve been using. Reviews for this were pretty good (though many sounded too good). Down loaded and find the cheapest option is 1 yr for $60. You can try for 7 days but if you forget to cancel, then cha-Ching. If not willing and confident enough about the product to offer at a monthly price - then no way!

I i’ve been using ReceiptLens for almost a year now but no issues and today it is not working correctly, loading correctly, readings information on the receipts correctly and it saying I didn’t pay for it when I actually paid a lot of money to use ReceiptLens so I’m not sure what’s going on. Ugh fixxxx this.. I was so hopeful. Typically I would write this five stars but it’s not working right..

Good at doing what it is made to do- extracting total and tax & easy to digitally keep and organize receipts.

Would love to see a feature that also recognizes the cost of individual items. Would like to compare costs of same items from different companies for finding best priced items.

Finally found an app that scans my receipts, takes in the data and automatically writes an entry for it. The best part is that there is no monthly fee or subscription fee or limited number of scans. Definitely recommend this!

ReceiptLens is simple and gets the job done if you need to track receipts and have them put into an excel sheet so you can send them to your boss. It will send both the receipt images along with the excel sheet.

I’ve had a few receipt apps before, this one is truly the best! User friendly and automatically fills in info. Highly recommend.

Works perfectly for scanning receipts and exporting them in a spreadsheet. Had to give it 4 stars because you can’t customize the spreadsheet at all, no options or settings or templates. Add this option and it would be 5 stars without a doubt.

Does okay on basic one item receipts. Most of my receipts have more than one item and often multiple categories. App doesn’t handle those. If it did, it would be a great one, especially for the subscription price.
