Pen Run Reviews

Ok so this game honestly is really enjoyable. I never play games on my phone and I just happened to download this one from an ad, and it’s so much fun. It’s simple yet exciting. Music I love it. It is a very creative game that really any age can play.
CONS
The only bad things obviously first is the ads. Come on guys you put a little to many ads in there. Think about how many more people would love the reviews and download this game if there weren’t so many ads. Some are ok that’s fine. But not like one almost every time I restart. Second is PenRun is glitchy. Sometimes I get on and play a little while no problem other times the majority almost, I start playing and then PenRun crashes and I gotta restart. Not like it paused the game. It crashed it and I had to restart.

Overall I love it besides the ads and crashing. Which hopefully all they gotta do is one update to fix those. But definitely try it!

I love how the game has so many pens and themes. They make it more interesting and I love the choices you have with pens, and how you have different themes. I also love how it can pass time and it’s very entertaining. On the other hand, I wish there weren’t so many ads. The ads got so annoying to me. I also disliked how the pens cost so much. One pen is $850 or you have to watch 5 or 10 ads (and you can win pens from challenges). Besides these 2 problems, I love the game and I recommend it.

The idea of the game is innovative. It’s satisfying to see the lines you draw with your pen/marker, and it’s a new twist on the fundamentals of classic IOS games like Temple Run and Subway Surfers. However, the execution is terrible...not to mention the inane amount of ads. The in-game physics make it quite difficult to manipulate the pen, which is fine if not for the ad walls you hit when you die. Even if you don’t want to watch a video to continue from where you left off, you’re likely to be forced to watch an advert anyway. Moreover, there’s no option to purchase an ad-free version, even if you were willing to spend a few bucks. Also, I often would get stuck on a loading screen with a pink marker bent into a ‘U’ shape that had ink swishing back and forth inside it. I would have to close and re-launch PenRun several times to get out of the screen. The game is a nice idea with bright colors and aesthetically pleasing graphics, but it is NOT WORTH DOWNLOADING. There are so many similar apps on the market with less ads, and that require less dexterity. AVOID THE FRUSTRATION!

The first thing I saw when I stared PenRun was a 45 second unskippable ad. That was the first I ever saw an app show me an add before it own title screen so I knew I was in for something. Usually when a game asks if I’d like to save my progress in exchange for watching an add I take it however, in Pen Rush when I decided my progress didn’t warrant a 30 second ad to save my progress it instead puts me on a loop of screen that require you to watch an ad in between each one. So by the time I click the start over option in order to save time and avoid some ads the game instead makes me watch 2 minutes of ads just so I can lose my progress. I actually laughed and wanted to see how many ads the game was gonna put me through before I uninstalled it. Anyway, there’s better apps on here that have more respect for your time and don’t insult your intelligence quite as much as this.

As I’m reading through the reviews, I see more like the one I’m about to type. As soon as I opened PenRun , The first thing that I experienced wasn’t nice music, or an introduction to PenRun , but an ad that I couldn’t skip or get out of. In the reality of this game, there is more ads than actual game time. I was more frustrated at the fact that I couldn’t get back to the game then I was at the objects that you have to move around in the game. I had PenRun for maybe 15 minutes. I ended up only being able to play the game twice before I got too frustrated with the bombardment of ads. I already deleted PenRun , the ads were completely ridiculous. And don’t get me wrong, I understand having to make money off of PenRun through ads and in-game purchases, but with that amount of ads, you’re not going to get very many people playing.

This is a fun and simple race game that keeps me entertained. Only down side is there are SO-MANY-ADS. Every app I play is free and I don’t feel bombarded with ads in any one but this one. There’s an add usually every 30 seconds, and they last about 30 seconds. A 50/50 split time between ads and game time is too much for me, if this doesn’t lighten up soon I will probably end up deleting PenRun in a week or so.

Secondly, coins are really easy to earn and pretty early on they become obsolete since it is very easy to get every pen skin available. Maybe Ketchapp will allow coins to skip videos in the future or something like that so other players and I can keep the game and continue to enjoy.

Okay, it’s good, but...I can’t play it, if I start it it doesn’t let me move! I hope they fix that, if you have iPhone 5 wouldn’t recommend PenRun that much. I know it works for some of you, but it doesn’t to me, I can’t play it, like I barely play it, like 1 time in a day, I go into PenRun about 8 times a day and it let me barely play, it’s like they don’t want me to play, i get mad soo much, again wouldn’t recommend if you have iPhone 5, this lags soooo much, and wouldn’t let me play like I said it let me plays 1/8 times, I hope they fix, this is annoying, and everytime I watch ad it doesn’t come up, it’s annoying, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have IPhone 5.

I think this game is great and would totally recommend it for anyone who likes a challenge! Its very fun and competitive, it is not addicting (which I really like in a game), and I think it would be an amazing and fun victory for anyone who finds this game a little difficult! Although something I think this creator(s) should work on is the controlling of the game. Despite how fun it is, it was very hard to steer and control the pen, at least in my experience. I didn’t get frustrated but I did get a little irritated, I ended up deleting the game. Also the objects are very hard to avoid because of the controlling issue. So then again, if you are not looking for something too difficult then move on!

So when I Played the first round of this game, it was so fun and my friend loved it too. But we both couldn’t help but get annoyed by how many ads there are. No matter what, every time you died or not, you had to watch an ad. Half the time I’m watching The ad instead of playing the game. Also to make matters worse the ads are consistently the same. Without the ads, even though it doesn’t have real people playing with you, PenRun would be great, but the ads is completely ruined it in my Opinion. Although all of this has been said The game in the thrill of bumping over other players etc. is very fun and addicting to play. They just really need to work on ads in this game would be nearly perfect.

So I’m playing this game, it’s gone pretty good and I’m just in one of the Christmas races till BOOM DURING THE RACE AN AD POPS UP! And when I CLOSE THE AD? IM DEAD! This game is SO ANNOYING! Like I GET that you have to do ads so you can get money, but, when you want to cram more in there DURING the gameplay that’s when you just realize you need to stop. Others are constantly complaining about ads (honestly so are all the reviews on literally any other game) but I dont mind them if it’s an ad to get a second chance or when I die there’s an ad and when I close it I can click play on the next level. But when I’m PLAYING?! What is wrong with you people?! Just fricking change those ads! Make it so we only get them to survive or after we die or after we finish a level! Deleting this game till that is fixed.

Pros :
- Pen Run is really fun & a great concept for a game that could go viral : It has really great graphics and isn’t sticking to the old engine all of the other popular games are still using which i’m really happy about. I’m glad it’s a very well put together game & i would love to play more of it! Seriously ! ❤️

Cons : ( in my experience )

- The game is filled with ads : I’m a type of person who will gladly watch a couple ads every couple turns, but this game is legitimately UNPLAYABLE with the amount of ads going on DURING your run. Every single run you have, there is an ad in the middle of your run - your pen doesn’t “pause” while the ad is going so you end up dying. I simply thought it was a literal glitch, but unfortunately it’s just built into the game. I haven’t even been able to play ONE round without an ad basically “popping-up” during my run - this is immensely frustrating.

Final Thoughts :

Honestly, I really hope the Dev’s can fix this issue. i genuinely think this game has 200% potential because it’s such a unique concept

This is a great game! It’s pretty fun when your board, and also cool. The only thing I don’t enjoy is the adds, and the frustration. If someone didn’t want the adds, they would have to turn airplane mode on. I don’t like that because I ALWAYS forget to turn it off. The frustration isn’t good either. I downloaded PenRun a few days ago, and the first day I was playing for a long time. That’s because I wanted to win. (Theses things are my opinion.) Other than what I think, there is no bugs or anything to change!

I just started playing PenRun and I love it. It’s fun and gives you something to do if you’re bored. The only thing I don’t like is the ads. I don’t have a lot of patience so having to watch a minute long ad while wanting to get back to my game is annoying. This brings me to my next point, the ads are super long. I just started playing this game a few minutes ago and there has been an enormous amount of ads and they aren’t short! Each ad has been about a minute long. One minute isn’t a lot of time but for an ad while I’m trying to play a game, it is.

I had played this game on a friends phone and really liked it, so I tried to download it. It downloaded fine but when I tried to play it it did not let me get past the starting screen, except to get a gift or buy a pen. I could not actually play the game. I redownloaded PenRun and I could play, but there were still no buttons so I had to randomly tap the screen to get it to work. The game also sent me to a screen showing a Christmas version of pen run at seemingly random times. The Christmas version moved normally but I did not have a pen and no one else was there. I’m not sure what’s wrong but I hope it gets fixed soon.

I love this game so much but there’s still much to add and to improve if you guys say there’s to much ads just turn off data and internet then no ads and to the developer you should add power ups and upgrades and design your own pen for a certain amount of coins and quests and multiplayer this would be an amazing app for other devices such as the fire stick or kodi this guy is an amazing artist I love the art im going to keep this game for a while let’s see what he does to it

all the adds on this game make me not play it that often and also I don’t want to recommend it to a friend because nobody likes a game with to much adds! I do really like this game with all but the adds actully make me dislike it, I would recommend it if the owners cut out adds every time. They are fine once in a while but not every single time. Also it would be great if other people could kill you and you would actually race.. 3 stars because 2 things bad out of 5. All of that was my opinion

This game is so amazing I love it what do you have on your mind of making another game pen run but different with more objects and obstacles on their. Whoever created this game is a mega mined.

Me and my sister play this game all day when my mom took up my phone I was like no way I still need to play Pen Run!I just want to say thank you for creating this game. Let me know if you have other things on your mind of making another pen run.

This is a fun and entertaining. Not only is the game fun, but collecting all the different pens is crazy addicting. However, there way too many ads. That sounds pretty causal because every game has ads but this one has an ad every time you finish a race, change your pen, or collect a new pen. Not only are the ads frequent, a majority of them are un-skipable which is pretty annoying. Overall I would recommend to people

Too many ads. 🙁 In my opinion.. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great app! 😅 it’s just that.. I feel like it could use less advertisements. Almost every time I fall down when I’m playing, it offers me the choice to continue playing by watching an ad or just give up. But, if you give up you’ll still have to watch an ad. Keep in mind, this happens almost every time. It’s a bit tiring, sorry! 😕 I know you guys just want to put advertisements in your game, but I want to play your game. 🙂 Overall, good game.

I like this game it is fun but there are some horrible things that make me want to throw my phone out the window. First off the adds are HORRIBLE. I can’t go 5 seconds without getting an add or video. The videos are always super long and take forever for the x to show up. Second of all the game it self takes forever to load. You watch the loading screen for awhile before you get to click the try again button. The concept is good and the game is fun but there is stuff to fix.
