Trail s End Reviews

The idea of this is great, but it NEVER works. It crashes ever single time your processing an order. I end up hand writing every order and putting them into TrailsEnd after we get home so I’m not standing on someone’s doorstep for 20 minutes trying to log back into TrailsEnd and re doing the entire order. The “remember me’ option at log in doesn’t work at all! I have to log in everytime I try to put in an order. Hands down the worst sales app I’ve ever had to use. Only good thing is once you finally get all your orders into TrailsEnd it calculates your total and amount of items you need.
READ UNTIL THE END. TrailsEnd comes with a whole load of problems. For starters, the “remember me” feature doesn’t even work. Also, if I swipe out of TrailsEnd for something, after 2 seconds I re-enter it and it has completely timed out. It also has kind of a poor UI on mobile, so it is hard to navigate. The worst part about it is that it says that you get a gift card with a prize, but then you find out that that is what you can buy WITH the gift card even though it is displaying it right on the rewards screen. It basically scams you. It dropped the selling experience and I bought a square card reader for it and it said it would work, but then it didn’t. HORRIBLE app, with scamming. Not just a 1/5, but a -5/5 honestly. I have infinite complains about this. Devs, if you see this, PLEASE change it so that it isn’t tricking you that you get an iPhone and a gift card, when you only get the card. Again, really bad app. Don’t use. Solid 1/5.
It’s nearly impossible to find where to click a placed order from undelivered to delivered. It’s the stupid little truck icon way down at the bottom of the order. Carefully click it once. The real thing that burns me up is you have to enable TrailsEnd using your microphone EVEN IF YOU ARE TYPING #’s IN AND DONT HAVE SQUARE or ever intend to use it that way. No where - no where is this documented.
I love the idea of TrailsEnd , however, it’s always down!!! So hard to go door to door when it’s constantly crashing. Currently, it is making me log in, but saying that I’m already logged in, and shows that my son has sold $0 in popcorn when he’s closer to $1,000. Several times when I have sent payment links to customers they have been unable to complete the payment. When they click on the link it says “order not found, please visit store to place an order”. Just so frustrating that TrailsEnd is down more than it’s working. I am dreading our upcoming booths using TrailsEnd as I am guessing we will end up loosing a lot of sales from credit card paying customers. So disappointed.
Whenever going through to place an order for myself It is pretty confusing on where to go and it takes forever to log in. Not sure but my kid customers just give up in trying to order online since they are out of state. Please make unit more user friendly. Thanks.
We lost several sales due to maddeningly slow response in trying to execute a credit card order. It usually needs to have you log out and back in again once your shift ends even if shifts are adjacent. We had to have three parents all trying to complete a sale to ensure at least one went through. Very frustrating to use with a customer standing there in front. Could never get any card reader to work. I don’t recommend at all but what options do we have? Feels like we (scouts) are being taken advantage of.
I’m currently redownloading TrailsEnd in hope of fixing the bugs. It’s annoying to have to have verification codes sent almost every time I log in. But after our storefront sales yesterday, I’ve been unable to open the seller profile . The only option that is reactive on the screen is the privacy notice on bottom or to delete the user.
I’m sorry, but why do I need two-factor authentication for a popcorn app? And why do I need it EVERY TIME I log in? And why won’t TrailsEnd remember me or my password 80% of the time? Unfortunately, I need TrailsEnd to sell popcorn, but I hate it. It’s the most time consuming app ever, and it tends to go down mid-shift during storefronts. For the insane price of the increasingly cheap quality popcorn, you’d think Trails End could afford to hire a decent IT team to make a decent app. I’m glad my pack is slowly moving away from Trails End. 🙄
For an app designed to be used by a program with strong emphasis on youth protection, the permissions TrailsEnd requires are a strange choice. Uploading a profile image requests access to the Apple Music library, including usage metrics. That seems completely unnecessary. Permission to access one image? Fine, but not blanket permission to see all media on the device. If I can’t upload a profile image from a desktop computer, my kid’s page is going to have no image at all.
Could register a biometric, but then it wouldn't work for login (login button didn't work). Had to delete TrailsEnd and go back to password.
Bigger issue was I couldn't get the bluetooth reader to stick in TrailsEnd . It would show ready, but when I went into Credit it asked for a reader. And I went back into the reader list and the registration was gone. Tried a number of times and no luck. And not much help in the FAQ.
What a frustrating waste of time TrailsEnd is! Always getting connection errors. Password situation is out of control. Every time you start TrailsEnd you have to re register the phone and wait for text notification. Enter that back in TrailsEnd to get it started. If you have two kids with two logins you switching kids requires more texts and passwords to switch accounts. Can’t remember passwords, Face ID, or thumb. Selling popcorn should be this hard. Scouts should look to another app that can do transactions properly.
Pros: Easy to setup webpage for online orders, as well as entering wagon sale orders.
Cons: Credit card sales require square reader. The share option is our favorite method that sends a text, but it is astounding that they made basic contact info like name optional and easy to miss. Our scout made 10 sales through this method and not one had a name assigned to it. Very frustrating!
Issues with trying to set my kids up. Now issues trying to log in. I have to go to the actual website to set up my kids profiles. I dread what it’s gonna do when we actually have to use it for sales.
I have been trying to sign into my account for about 3 hours now and it won’t accept it😡
TrailsEnd is really helpful and I noticed the developer has put a lot of effort into making it as user friendly and intuitive as possible. One improvement would be to add the phone camera based credit card scanning capability into the checkout. Please add that function.
Enjoy TrailsEnd and find it very useful. We like the ability to track our sales and multiple ways to provide a sale to the customers. We think it is very user friendly.
TrailsEnd has saved me so much time and has helped me to manage my sales in the midst of a pandemic. I am able to track my scouts progress and accept payments virtually without any cost to my unit.
Extremely easy to use - would not fundraisers without it. I especially love all the new features that keep volunteers from handling cash.
TrailsEnd makes it super easy to manage popcorn sales for my unit. Once I spent a few minutes showing the parents how to use it I was able to get everyone on board. That means I have all the info I need as a kernel at my fingertips
TrailsEnd is much easier to use this year. It was very easy to track and manage my scouts sales. Only thing I think could use some work was the scout profile and selecting your goal. Aside from that I was pleased with the functionality of TrailsEnd and how it categorized the money based on the type of sale.
This tool saved me so much time as a Popcorn Kernel. It allowed my Scouts to take orders in front of stores, door-to-door, and share their fundraising links to ask for support online. The feature to take credit cards helped my unit raise more money in less time by overcoming the “I don’t have any cash” objections from customers. I would recommend TrailsEnd to any unit that wants to be successful with popcorn.
I LOVE how convenient TrailsEnd is to use when selling popcorn with my Scout! It keeps track of everything for me, and my kid can even use it because it’s so easy!
Running popcorn for a large unit is a a headache when it comes to paperwork. TrailsEnd cut down on so many of those issues. It kept us organized and allowed us to see our progress in real time. Our parents also loved the fact they didn’t need to keep a handwritten tally sheet at the booth sales. Having the pricing list at our fingertips came in handy as well!
I love TrailsEnd! It does everything we need to enter sales and accept credit cards. It even tracks if we delivered to orders. My kids can sign up for shifts and redeem their rewards. Everything we need for a successful fundraiser.
First year with Trails end and they have been super responsive to any issues and have updated throughout the sale. As a parent it is the easiest platform I’ve used in 10 years of product sales. Our leaders love the other end with inventory management and reporting too.
