This looked like it was going to be amazing, so I purchased a 1 month Pro subscription PLUS the subscription to use my iPhone as a probe. But when I went to use ScanboosterUltrasoundSim on my iPad, I couldn’t access any of the pro content. I wrote to customer service asking for help, hoping for a quick response because I have a POCUS exam in a few days, and indeed I did get an immediate email back… saying they’d review my issue in 10 business days. I’m so glad I didn’t go for the full year subscription, which I very nearly did because ScanboosterUltrasoundSim looks so amazing. Really disappointed. I hope this Pro content actually exists and this isn’t a scam. I’ll happily change this review to 5 stars if they fix the problem, but if you’re seeing this 1-star review more than a couple of weeks from now you probably shouldn’t give these folks any of your money

I downloaded ScanboosterUltrasoundSim because I was eager and anxious to see my baby. Turns out ScanboosterUltrasoundSim isn’t real my mom who had a full hysterectomy tried it and it showed the same baby!

I downloaded ScanboosterUltrasoundSim last month before my abdomen final because I needed to review some anatomy. They give you a free exam (first trimester screening in my case) which was very helpful and I really learned some new stuff, so I decided to PURCHASE the liver exam. I like how ScanboosterUltrasoundSim guides you to find the answer in case you don’t know it. It helped me, and I was thinking about buying more exams, BUT for some reason I can’t go back to the liver exam which I had previously purchased. It is locked! And asking me to buy it again! Waste of money!

ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is fake I held it up to my wall and I guess my wall is pregnant with a full term baby . I put it on my stomach and nothing showed but a dark screen 🤬

Guess my air is pregnant right? Because the second I clicked for the free exam there was a full term baby popping up without even being anywhere near my stomach or anyone else’s.

ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is worthless unless you have the money to spend!!! Don’t get it unless you have enough money!!! This is like the ULTRA lite version of an app…. See what they have to offer but not able to use any of it!!!

ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is very cool as a learning supplement. However, I made a purchase, and unlocked a bundle. Then I came back an hour later and could no longer access the bundle. The money has already been taken from my bank account. If customer support fixes this issue I will give it more stars for sure.

I am a sonography student, and I downloaded ScanboosterUltrasoundSim to assist with my scanning skills. I had to purchase the iPhone app ($15.14) to use my phone as a “transducer”, and I purchased the student subscription at $4.86/week. However, I’m not sure what the subscription actually includes, as I only have access to the one free scan case I downloaded (pancreas). When I try to view the liver or gallbladder cases, it prompts me to register for a Pro subscription. This is very disappointing. As a student, I can’t afford the pricier subscriptions, and I didn’t realize until AFTER I purchased the controller app and a week’s subscription that I would have to spend more money to access any other cases. It feels like a bait-and-switch, and the ScanBooster website doesn’t include any FAQs/details about what the subscription levels actually include/exclude.

ScanboosterUltrasoundSim itself is a good concept, and it was very helpful for seeing a transverse view of the pancreas; however, I was unable to get any decent longitudinal views of the pancreas head/neck/body/tail. I’m not sure if ScanboosterUltrasoundSim isn’t designed to work in LONG mode, or if the iPad just wasn’t reading my phone’s position properly.

Overall, I love the idea of ScanboosterUltrasoundSim, but I’m probably going to cancel my subscription after this week since it doesn’t include access to any of the other abdominal organs I need to practice scanning. I guess I need to keep looking to find tools that are suitable for a student’s budget.

UPDATE: I added another star to my review after reading in the developer’s response. I upgraded to a one-month Pro subscription, which means I wasted the money I already paid for the student subscription and controller app. The developer should *really* consider updating the website with more detailed info on pricing and comparisons, so potential customers would have a clearer idea of what is included with each type of subscription vs. purchasing individual cases...it’s not easy trying to figure out what’s included by reading ScanboosterUltrasoundSim Store descriptions. Also, several of the cases I tried downloading with the Pro subscription don’t work...when I click on the downloads, it says: “The volume you’ve just selected is unlabeled and therefore doesn’t contain any structures that could be quizzed. Structures will be added very soon.” So the scans won’t even open. If the product and pricing info was more transparent, and if these unlabeled cases were accessible, I would consider upgrading my review. Also, please consider adding a YouTube video that demonstrates the movements we need to make when setting up the controller app...for example, I’m not sure what is meant by “fanning”. Thanks!

This is an excellent idea. I however think the image quality and resolution has some room for improvements to be made.
I have a request for an android companion app. I like so many people have an android phone along with an ipad. I would love to have the ability to control ScanboosterUltrasoundSim with my android phone.
Another request would be to add an option for touch controls in addition to the tilt and iphone control. Please also work to improve the picture quality which is not bad as it is but i am sure much higher quality and resolution images can be used.

Great app for Sonography students! I've purchased all the scans, and this was a huge help when I was trying to get the hang of ultrasound. I still use it every now and then to review a scan I haven't done in a while.

At first I was a bit skeptical because of the many bad reviews ScanboosterUltrasoundSim has received. But since the download is free I thought I’d give it a shot.
Let me tell you I’m absolutely excited about the possibilities ScanboosterUltrasoundSim gives me. You can even use your iPhone as a virtual ultrasound probe to control it on your iPad. To me all of these bad reviews seem to come from uneducated pregnant women who think they can actually perform a real examination with their phone. But ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is intended for education only.
As a medical doctor I know how hard learning sonography by just reading books can be. Therefore ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is just gold for us to quickly simulate an exam - all by yourself at home.
The only downside of ScanboosterUltrasoundSim is that they don’t have that many organs you can choose from. Hope they add more in the future.
