I downloaded DECKEEBoatingApp to evaluate it against Navionics and Savvy Navvy. I cannot tell you how it performs against them - perhaps it is awesome. I don’t know.
On initial startup, it asked if I wanted to share location always or only while using DECKEEBoatingApp . As I am evaluating it, I do not want to give it access to my location always.
After this, I get nag messages telling me that it cannot provide background navigation services without allowing “always on” location access. This I get every 3-10 seconds. No joke. It renders the application unusable to me.
Sorry team. Deleting DECKEEBoatingApp .
I found channel markers in waters that I frequent where it tells you to navigate on wrong side of marker…you will be outside of the channel and will run aground.
Its not even updated daily. Way off on swell conditions. Use the NOAA bouy info. It could save your trip or your life!
I haven’t seen anything past the logo. 1 star because it’s a nice logo.
It does not even load
To be honest, I have yet to use DECKEEBoatingApp , but I do see great potential for it. My use case is for kayaking and would love to be able to save locations to quickly check the weather and more once I start using.
I’ve been using DECKEEBoatingApp for the last three trips in our boat. I love it and especially find the boat trip log to be a great benefit. I don’t rely on the Navigation feature but use it occasionally as a guide. I have USCG approved chart plotter for that on Intercoastal.
I’ve been using Deckee for a few years now and I love the look and feel of DECKEEBoatingApp . The data will need to be improved on some, but I trust it to get out and log my trips. Thanks team for the great product!
Tried Deckee for 2 weeks. 1. I didn't find it reliable 2. It's funded by data mining, meaning they sell data they collect about you and your activities to third parties for commercial gain. And they try hard to push you to giving them more information than actually is necessary for the task. Something I deeply dislike even though this behavior sadly is pretty common. Can't recommend the app.
