This app is just getting worse. It crashes when adding books and when loading member profiles. I’ve been given awards I haven’t earned. the search isn’t working and even when it was you still couldn’t find books because the list was completely unorganised and most of them aren’t on there at all. They say they upload books every few days but it’s been months and the books that are requested aren’t being added.

I downloaded this in hopes of finding an app that offered actual personal recommendations based on books that I’ve liked and rated highly. This says that it gives you personal recommendations, but looking through the list they do not look very personal at all… they are mostly newly released books that have one rating.
I’m also not a fan of the “discover” section, which prioritizes genres that are not genres I’m interested in.
When searching, many of the books I’ve read and searched for don’t even appear in the results. Also in relation to the searches, when i type in the exact title, the book doesn’t appear until the 4th or 5th result… again, appearing to prioritize new books with fewer reviews.
I think this app would be great for someone who is looking for new release recommendations. I think the discussion feature is a cool idea with a lot of potential, but more reviews are needed to make this useful.

A few things- It has a very small selection of books and doesn’t even include literary classics such as Tess of the d'Urbervilles or Agnes Grey. As a fan of classic literature, I expect even the basics like I stated, to be available. I got this app in hopes it would recommend me books similar to my taste, which brings me to my next point.
If the app doesn’t even have simple literary classics, how can I expect my recommendations to actually fit? I was immediately given new YA novels and bestselling books of this year, when I only had “historical fiction, classic and literature” as selected genres.
I feel if the app had a bigger selection (of even the most popular titles...) this could be great! But for now, I’m going to stick with bookbub.
