MOZA Genie Reviews

I bought 2 gimbals, one for my daughter, who is a PE teacher and needs it for social distancing teaching, and one for myself. The object tracking feature was the option that convinced me for purchasing. However, this feature is not available within the apps. I have reported this several times and have not received an aps update. If no reply is received soon I will return both and request a refund. If I do receive a solution I will be testing and reconsider my review score.

Why this version doesn’t have face tracking function. I have an iPhone 12 pro max and bought the MOZA mini S to use for my trip. If it doesn’t has this function, I most likely return this MOZA mini device

Pairs well with Moza MX mini on iPhone 11/ios14. Face/object tracking work well. However, I consider MOZAGenie unusable because any video recorded in 4K (even 30fps) stutters and lags, ruining footage. There are multiple reports of this in the reviews here and elsewhere but the devs appear to have yet to respond. It’s sad because MOZAGenie has great functions, but laggy recording renders all those things useless IMO.

My phone is on, even the gimbal on. The connection keeps failing saying “I need to make the device is on and not connected to another phone”. Of course not! I only have one phone and all my other Bluetooths(which are not on while trying to connect to the MOZA) connect with no problem. It’s a malfunction in MOZAGenie . Please fix!

Where is the panoramic shot feature? It used to be available. That is one of my main uses for a motorized gimble, to scan through a shot. It has “hyper lapse” or whatever MOZA calls it, panoramic shots should be an easy add.

I live MOZAGenie and the technology you have provided but I need better technology app wise.

Magic Mode and Templates are currently not working with this version of Moza Genie on the Moza Mini-P Gimbal. Beware if you have this gimbal, MOZAGenie is not functioning well and missing features at this time. Support noticed and their response was engineers will be notified but “ after sales staff have no idea about the exact date.”

Updated and still crashes. I can have the ap open and connected for a few minutes. Max 3 mins after that it crash’s constantly:/

I’ve had for a year and it was great until the auto tracking feature disappeared. Please update your app to include this feature.

MOZAGenie is very difficult to use the main reason why I bought this is because the features of the gimbal but I come to realize that the gimbal is useless because MOZAGenie does not work for some strange reason they zoom in and out button on the gimbal does not work

The trajectory mode always fails even when trying to follow the cryptic on-screen prompt.

The resolution always reverts to 720p when it should stick to whatever the user specified during the last use.

Using the menu to change settings like mode or horizon tilt or sport mode do absolutely nothing in this version.

All these things need to be fixed to have a useable app!

MOZAGenie just horrible. Calibration just doesn’t work no matter how many time I tried. And the hand gimbal at some angle just jitters. So fed up with it I smashed it on the floor into pieces. At least I have some parts to play with for my next project of remote control pan and tilt. Stupid gimbal... and the stupid app!

I’ve been waiting for the Panoramic function for either (or both) the mini-p or the mini-mi. Their apps are very buggy. The actual hardware is great!

I've been trying to use the tracking mode on the mini mi but it's broken please fix it and make it recognize humans and objects easily

The software will not let you connect unless you give it access to your entire photo album this is unacceptable

So the gimbal stand doesn’t work unless you have MOZAGenie ? MOZAGenie is way to large to be downloading on a phone. Yeah what a waste of purchase… I’ll be using my regular camera on my and just use the gimbal as a phone holder 😒

Several key features of MOZAGenie isn’t working correctly.

For instance :

Doesn’t change from video to photo mode anymore. Instead, it now tries to increase the volume of my ringer.

Doesn’t zoom in or out anymore.

Doesn’t go to sports or regular mode anymore.

Compare MOZAGenie now to what other reviewers have shown, and it’s a completely different app.

Buyers beware on this particular gimbal.

Still needs work:
1. Shot an entire day of stuff live at an event at 4K/60hz and found out zero audio. Come home and audio seems to work fine. Can’t even find any audio settings in MOZAGenie so not even sure how I turned it off. Seems to have been fixed in an update but I still can’t adjust sound recording frequency or even confirm I am recording sound at all. There is a volume meter but something should ALWAYS be on.
2. Resolution now sticks at last setting for rear camera if app is turned off and restarted, but does not for front camera. I still need to change it to 1080p every time.
3. Still problems with when I go to the gallery and then change the orientation of the camera and it shoots me to a new video or back to the menu.

Hello purchased the Moza Mini MX, downloaded the Genie app. It will not connect making the Moza useless.

Please is there a fix for this? Need to know to see if I need to return the product.
