Easy

I love that I can pull up my pod info on my phone. The only thing I miss is the ability to input anything or give myself a bolus directly from my phone which necessitates bringing the device with me at all times. If I could just document and bolus from my phone it would eliminate one more thing that I have to carry with me. Work on that will you?

Good first release, has limited functionality.

It is nice to see your Omnipod Dash info on your iPhone. However, you still have to physically connect your Dash to a computer to view any data in 3rd party apps such as Glooko and others. It doesn’t even have Apple Health integration. The data is on the iPhone, why do I need to connect to a computer to upload it. It would be nice to be able to upload the date to the Cloud, Glooko, Apple Health, or other supported apps.

It would really be nice to be able to bolus and change settings on the Dash via using OmnipodDISPLAY. It currently will not allow that, and you can only view the data. If you using the Dexcom G6, you have to open you IPhone to get your CGM reading and then open the Dash to give a bolus or change a settings. It would be nice to only have to open one device to do your multiple daily diabetes tasks.

Not syncing with PDM

Ok so I’ve had the dash since mid 2020 and ad first OmnipodDISPLAY had no problem syncing with my pdm at first but then it just stopped all together. I’ve tried the unpair from both ends and re-pairing it (didn’t work), Unpaired and uninstalled the reinstalled OmnipodDISPLAY (didn’t work) I’ve tried every possible troubleshooting method I can think of except resetting my pdm to factory settings (stupid idea) and thill nothing. If OmnipodDISPLAY needs an update then that could fix it (if that is the problem) so I can view it on my phone. Otherwise the Omnipod Dash is amazing apart from the occasional failing to connect with the pod since it relies heavily on Bluetooth.

Great for now, looking forward for what’s to come

OmnipodDISPLAY definitely has potential. I know all of the testing isn’t done to control the insulin administration from the phone app, but I’m looking forward to when it does. For now though it would be beneficial if I could at least enter my BG reading just for tracking sake. I can log it on the pdm without giving a dose, just as a log. I think you should be able to on OmnipodDISPLAY too. Or log exercise, or food, etc. Otherwise, it’s clean, attractive, user friendly, and works well. Love that I can Ping my PDM, wish I could do that from my watch too

Promising, but...

OmnipodDISPLAY is informative, but it lacks two serious features. The first - connection to Apple health to record basal and bolus delivery of insulin. The second feature - direct connection to dexcom g6 to import/export insulin bolus/temp basal info into the Omnipod display app for recommended boluses.

Instead of trying to replicate the PDA, Omnipod’s goal should be to use OmnipodDISPLAY as a jump-point to other diabetes applications and Apple health and Apple research. Gathering and collecting this data simultaneously could be a big boon for studies that utilize artificial intelligence to find patterns of glucose and recommend potential boluses or treatment.

Game Changer!

Over the years, I have tried the array of Basal insulins w “some” or minimal luck and solid results w my FBS!
This is absolutely beautiful— No issue w FBS/Dawn Phenomenon/ High(er) Blood Sugar upon wake up!
This in conjunction w Dexcom makes for happy guy and an A1C that makes me
smile;’went from good to great in my
book!

Good, needs to fix a few things tho.

OmnipodDISPLAY is great! But it can also lag out and glitch sometimes. When my parents try to view it it says “not updates for last 3 days” and it’s like “bro fix this please.” So that needs to be fixed and also when I try to stop making the PDM ring to find it I have to wait with the load noise, so if that could get fixed great! If not, that’s fine too.

Needs Apple Watch complication

Wish the iPhone Omnipod View app included an Apple Watch complication so I could see my level of insulin on board. I already monitor my BG via the Tomato complication (Tomato -> Miaomiao transmitter for Libre CGMs) and it would be even better if I could see my IOB at the same time. Also looking forward to the day when we can manage the entire Pod from an app on our phones instead of requiring a separate device.

Functionality is marginal

The description indicates that OmnipodDISPLAY has a widget that you can use side by side with your Dexcom G6 widget. This would give you a powerful tool to look at with just a glance. It would seem that the makers of OmniPod have removed the widget, thereby reducing the functionality of OmnipodDISPLAY. Also, if they wanted OmnipodDISPLAY to really be useful, why can’t it control the Dash Pods, and interface with the G6 sensors so you can have all of your information on one app without carrying the PDM with you also?

Make app able to dose and pdm more assessable to BLIND t1d

As a blind type one diabetic who is new to omnipod I love OmnipodDISPLAY. I wish though I could dose by using OmnipodDISPLAY with my voice assist on my phone like I do with my freestyle libre. I’d even be happy if the pdm they give you had the option to use a voice assist program. Being a type one diabetic is hard but add being blind to that makes it 100x harder. If one of the above suggestions could be done it would make controlling diabetes easier

Create a widget!!

Literally just got the new Dash system and downloaded OmnipodDISPLAY to pair with it. Highly disappointed when I saw that there is no widget to go with it. Dexcom has a great widget that I have pinned to the top of my widgets page and I think an Omnipod widget would be great to go underneath it. I would just love to be able to see my current BG and my IOB right on the same screen. *tear tear*

Pretty good but needs a few changes

Hi,
So overall OmnipodDISPLAY works well but it send me alerts two days after the occurrence of when I need to change a pic. Like it will send me the notification two days later. So that needs to be up to date and I can’t do anything to change it for some reason like it wont let me change the time or date on OmnipodDISPLAY . So it’s stuck.
It needs to be simpler. I’m only 12 and I can’t understand some of what’s going on on OmnipodDISPLAY , I have to check my pdm and my parents can’t get the right readings anymore. And they are getting mad at me for no reason.
So if u would please take that into consideration please lol.
Love you Omnipod,
Molly Terry

It’s on the right track

OmnipodDISPLAY is a good start, it proves that they can link to the phone. However, OmnipodDISPLAY is pretty much useless. My parents can now see my boluses without having to text me at school, but OmnipodDISPLAY is useless otherwise. You cannot bolus, change basal settings, alarm settings, etc. The interface on this is not very good, I liked that the old PDM had all of the info on the status screen without having to swipe several times. A watch app would be nice too.

One suggestion

OmnipodDISPLAY is great for what it is.

The only thing I’d expect it to do that I don’t think it does is show my Pump settings (Basal rates, IC ratio, CF etc.)
Having all this on one screen would be helpful if there’s ever an issue with the pump so setting up a new one would be simple. It would also be good to have a fast screen shot if another doctor is curious about my settings. Would love to see average insulin taken for day as well b/c I am often asked that question (total insulin, not just basal).

Would be ecstatic if I could Bolus and change settings from my phone even if I still had to carry the device.

Great! Just wish I could dose from it. . .

OmnipodDISPLAY is great, just wish I could dose from it, and pair it to my Apple Watch. Then I’d have one less gadget to carry around (two less gadgets if it could pair to my watch). Is there anyway you can make this happen Omnipod (if you’re not working on something already)??

Love the Pod, but not what it was promised

Let me start by saying I love my Pod & the delivery method. However, I was sold on the system because I was told that there would be communication between my Dexcom sensor & the Pod within 6 months — that was almost 2 years ago…….
Also, thought I could use my phone/app to run my Pod - deliver boluses, suspend delivery, etc. All OmnipodDISPLAY does is display your current amounts/settings. Absolutely no changes or actions can be made/taken via OmnipodDISPLAY.

The only improvement needed is to bolus with the phone

Does a nice job of displaying data but would really like to use the phone to bolus and change nasal settings.

Won’t work with my current Dash. Must trade out.

When I tried to complete setup, I received a message stating that I needed an upgraded version of the Dash and that mine wasn’t compatible. I called tech support and was told an email would be sent out soon to provide steps to getting a newer Dash model that is compatible and I would have to fill out forms to swap them out. This may be a blessing in disguise as I’ve found the it quite frustrating to use compared to the old PDM.

Nice, when it works

I don’t know if I haven’t fine tuned the settings properly, but it has never successfully auto synced with my PDM. I mainly use it for the Find my PDM feature, which works everytime. Unfortunately, I have never found a way to stop the alerting beeps by pushing the “stop alarm” button, I always have to quickly restart the PDM. This is the 4th or 5th PDM I have had, so it isn’t just a fluke with my particular unit

Completely Useless

I don’t understand how the most high tech pump hardware on the market can have such bad software. Having used OmniPod for over a decade, I was so excited to finally have it integrated, even partially, with my phone. This synced once, when I first set it up, and then never again. I got a partial sync on the second day, and nothing since. Such a let down.

Active Life Back with Omnipod Dash

Changed my life back to being active with ability to suspend insulin prior to biking, paddle boarding... exercising in general. Also, I love being able to view insulin status on my iPhone. Thank you!

Love my DASH and Display app makes it better

Display app allows me to see BG and IOB numbers on my iPhone lock screen and is making it so much easier to make decisions about next steps in my care.

Peace of mind in a pod

I’m just gratefully happy to have something so small give our family some independence back and piece of mind at night.

Love it!

I am alone a lot, so being able to share my blood sugars with family is a huge ease of mind. I cant wait to see what’s next!
