E6 CONNECT Reviews

I bought E6CONNECT in January. Continuously froze up, missed shots, long delays until it showed the shot and often had to be rebooted. I ran it on a newer IPAD that meets all of the specs. When I disconnected the e6 app and connected the Garmin app the device worked fine. I called Garmin they said to talk to e6. I called e6 and they said there is nothing they can do about it, they suggested I buy their tracking device and they are unable to refund my money. They said I need to get refunded through Apple. I filled out the Apple refund/issue ticket for E6CONNECT Store and they continue to decline my refund and apologizing. I tried to make this work for weeks and in the end I sold the Garmin and bought a skytrak. I called e6 to see if they can transfer their software license to skytrak and they said no. They told me to get a refund through E6CONNECT Store. Unbelievable waste of $300. Trugolf e6 and E6CONNECT Store should be ashamed of themselves for selling software that does not work well at all. I never write reviews but this one is worth telling others so you do not waste your money. Read other recent reviews and there are many like mine complaining about the same poor performance of the e6 software.

Love it! I haven’t had any issues with the 5 free courses that come with the garmin r10.

Some minor suggestions: When playing a round it’d be nice if the hud buttons at the bottom were a little bigger; they’re tiny on the iPhone and it’s hard to hit the right one. Also I wish there was a way to do a mulligan for the previous golfer. If you don’t quickly hit mulligan it just moves on. Also for the auto putting, I wish there was an option to define the parameters. For example, I want to say any putt that is 12 feet or longer is a two putt, over 35 feet is a 3 putt. Instead the only option is “computer decides” which can be a bit of a wildcard. There is another auto putt option but it takes away the ability to chip which is no fun. Yes, I can enter the putt totals manually but it’s so tedious.

All in all though, shot shape and distance have been great. Has never locked up on me either. Very happy with it.

I use e6 connect w my TruGolf mini trainer. At first I was impressed with the low-cost home sim/ trainer. The hardware all seems good quality for the price. App was fairly easy to setup and connect.

My issue is with the consistency… yardage and statistics are all over the map the more I use this. I’m a single digit handicap with a repeatable golf swing. The numbers I’m getting here are significantly different than what I’m seeing on trackman and on the course. Worse than that is having each shot sometimes measure so drastically different. If you’re playing the sim, it’s really frustrating. And if you’re practicing, it’s going to be difficult to know that you’re on the right track. Two identical swings should not be 30 mph swing speed difference… happening frequently during sim play. Or hitting it 50 yards left when you’re holding off for a little fade.

Party mode and boost don’t seem to be helping in sim mode… at least not enough to make it enjoyable.

Got this software with my Mevo Plus, which I use with an iPad Pro.

In my mind, I just assumed that once I had E6CONNECT and the device, I would open E6CONNECT , turn on the Mevo, and play golf.

Nope. That’s not how it works. What happens is an unclickable warning flashes in the upper left that says “Device not connected.”

Again, not clickable, so very unhelpful. So, you then click through EVERY LINK IN E6CONNECT looking for anything helpful like “connect to device.”

Nope! Nada! You can’t make this stuff up. Connecting to a device it’s supposedly made to work with is an action that is COMPLETELY MISSING FROM E6CONNECT .

So you close E6CONNECT , turn off the device. Turn on the device, open E6CONNECT . Move the device closer, spin the device in circles, turn it upside down... nothing.

I finally resorted to just using the FS app for practice, after which I checked the E6 software and Voila! It was magically connected. So, I tried it out.

Distance to target in metric, no problem, think I, SURELY they can’t screw up how to change that!

Well, yes they sure can! When you go to Settings> Measurement there is a super helpful drop down titled “Unused” that DOESN’T DROP DOWN.

So, metric only, because that field is “unused,” whatever in the world that means.

So if you were hoping to get E6CONNECT, and turn on you Mevo Plus and play golf in, you know, yards, then GOOD LUCK!

There are several quirks and shortcomings that make E6 connect not worth $300 a year.

1.) You can not have a custom set of clubs. You are stuck with Driver, 3 & 5 wood, 4 hybrid, 4-9 iron, PW, GW, SW, putter. My clubs are Driver, 5 wood, 3-5 hybrid, 6-9 iron, PW, GW, 56 & 60 degree, putter. This makes using the driving range to get data on your bag of clubs impossible. So I don’t use the driving range.

2.) Sand shots are a joke. You have to hit them like a regular chip shot and then they aren’t predictable. The same swing might go twice as far as the last time. It’s frustrating.

3.) Putting isn’t even worth it. It’s extremely difficult to guess what 50, 30, 20 feet is in a virtual setting. I’d prefer having the option of having a chipping target like some programs offer, instead of putting.

4.) Changing your aiming direct is incredibly problematic. Point the arrow in the direction you want isn’t that bad, but trying to determine a layup yardage past 100 yards is unbearably finicky. The target post move of the screen after 100 yards and to try and control it you have to roll your finger tip to keep the target post from flying off the screen. It’s ridiculous.

5.) I’ve played 4 rounds and had two of them completely crash on the back nine. E6CONNECT just closes. The game is gone and you can’t resume.

Hopefully there will an app update soon to make this more enjoyable.

I love how easy it was to set up and understand how to use. After about 15 minutes on the driving range I felt comfortable enough to try out the courses and in just a couple of holes in I was familiar with how each club was going to play and the distance I could get. With the iPad it is more realistic and lets me play golf year-round(and inside which is great with this weather). It is also awesome to be able to play at night with my wife after our son has gone to bed, something I will probably continue to do even when it gets warm out. Great experience and can’t wait until more courses come out!

I got a license for use with my Flightscope Mevo+. The ability to have 5 courses and a lot of different practice settings is nice, and I think it will actually help keep my game up during the winter. The courses each offer something unique for a playing experience. The graphics are passable on my Apple devices. However, I have a feeling the quality will be grainy and unappetizing if/when I set up a projector.

Now for the ugh! This thing needs A LOT of love to usable.
1. The load times are agonizing. I mean terrible. I think dial-up internet was faster than E6CONNECT.
2. The “keep me logged in” function doesn’t actually keep you logged in. This leads to even more time having to login constantly. Of course Touch or FaceID aren’t options to speed that up on iOS devices.
3. For Mevo+ users, login to E6 first, then pair your Mevo, then go back to E6. This trial and error took way to long to figure out.

I know I’m not alone with some of these complaints. Hopefully, it lights a fire for a fix.

This is a great way to keep practicing when the weather is bad or over the winter. E6CONNECT is easy to download and the driving range and courses are great! The shot distances are consistent with my real shot distances. The graphics are great and it performs best on my iPad. The shorter club allows me to swing in my living room without fear of hitting the ceiling or knocking anything over. I have found that it helps me to focus on my swing path to create a smooth and consistent golf swing. Lastly, it is simply a lot of fun.

I’ve played 30ish rounds and so far I have been mostly impressed. Distances are not perfect, but are at least consistent enough to get some work in during the winter months. One thing that needs addressed is the size of the “select” button when choosing which shot to use when playing scramble. Even when playing on an iPad Pro the button and shot selections are so small they are hard to hit sometimes, especially after a couple cocktails!

Having a blast with e6 and Garmin r10 in garage simulator. iPad was a huge improvement over phone. Accuracy is good and even better with RCT balls. The 5 free courses can seem like many more by varying environment and tees. Create an e6 account and go to portal to see your data. Very cool! Wish I could customize clubs to match my bag. Par three course or executive course would be nice as well. Seriously considering subscription.

I wish they would add a few features like being able to play a round offline and then add it to your account after the fact when you connect to WiFi. I also wish they would add some form of stat tracking like fairways, greens hit, etc.

Gameplay is ok, can only be as good as the device you play on. Provides more accurate numbers for me than FS golf.

Only 4 stars because e6 customer support blamed mevo and I had to figure out myself through trial and error. It is a mini ordeal, but now I’ve got it down... Has worked seamlessly the last 15 starts on iPad
My sequence:
Kill e6 app (this exits offline mode)
Connect to home WiFi and start e6 app (this resets you ability to use offline mode in later step)
Kill e6 app again
Plug in and turn on mevo plus
Once mevo plus powered up, go to iPad setting and connect to WiFi of mevo plus
Start e6 in offline mode
Play golf

Common mistake is connecting to mevo plus using fs app - e6 does not like this and acts funny if you do it this way... sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn’t... trigger is inconsistent when it has to compete with Fs app...

I really enjoy the simulation play.

If you have two devices you have to bind and rebind the account each time. If you click the wrong button then you have to uninstall and re download E6CONNECT to bind the license. You have to enter all login information every time you play. Very finicky.

It's hard to tell where you are dropping the ball as well.

With latest update all distances are in meters. There is no other option to change in settings. Only menu option in measurement setting is unused. This states distances are in meters and ball/ club head speed in mph. What is up with that. I do not feel like converting yardage while playing simulator golf please fix

Software graphics could use a little work. But overall great courses fun distances are good and shape is good. I also was told by E6Golf that the shots being displayed in the software is solely based on the tracking system. So if you have a bad tracking system. You’ll get bad data. Not E6Golfs fault solely the tracking system. So beware of the tracking system that is purchased.

I have a Garmin R10 and a current generation iPad and enjoy playing courses on this app however the video resolution could use an update. Maybe an option on newer iOS devices that would allow E6CONNECT to run at higher resolution and older iOS devices to run at the current resolution.

Using with FLIGHTSCOPE Xi and iPad Pro 11”

1) Need to tap E6 and Resume to get it going time to time
2) App crashes quite often
3) Need to allow more scoring options when around greens for people using without a putting sensor
4) Need to login with Internet, switch internet to flight scope to get going. Should allow face recognition to login instead of manually typing user/password
5) No option to save rounds played
6) have to hit Ok button multiple times after round completion
7) Shows backspin while FS itself does not show backspin

Love the graphics when I can get logged in, but I don’t use it to many obstacles to get logged in, sometimes I don’t have internet connection in my garage or weak connection, then E6 doesn’t like me to use SkyTrak in direct connect mode. If you have time to play around with getting connected great. But most the time I don’t , so I just don’t use it and I will not pay to use E6

Don’t know about other launch monitors but with SkyTrak, they need to rename it E6 Disconnect!! This software is so annoying with disconnects, random hits on it’s own and not reading shots at all. I know it’s not my Wi-Fi because I never have these problems with WGT or Skytraks own software. For the amount of money they charge, this software is a JOKE!!! Wish the “Golf Club 2019” was available for iPad!!

I want to love E6CONNECT , because when it works, the mobility and handiness of it is great. But it’s always a crapshoot as to if E6CONNECT will work after the latest update. And after the most recent one, it’s yet again broken. It should have zero issues running on my iPad Pro. Test, test, test before releasing new updates.

Wish there was a way to disable the voice that announces the yardage before each shot. It is a robotic, monotone voice that is annoying. I wouldn't mind it if it was in real life where there are minutes in between each shot, but when you are hearing it every 15-30 seconds, it will take a toll on your sanity.

Muting E6CONNECT is not an option because I like the swing and background nature sounds and effects.

As the title says. E6 doesn’t actually use raw launch monitor data to determine what your shot looks like; it relies on you selecting a generic club prior to the shot and then bases it on that. Realized that when I had a 165 ball speed shot with my driver…but had SW selected, and the ball went maybe 95 yards. Completely pathetic.

That’s if you can even get E6CONNECT to work. I am currently unable to even sign in to E6CONNECT and play with a new mobile license I changed to - it is stuck in an endless loop that requires “the profile owner” (me) to sign in to connect my new license, but kicks me out when I press “login”…because I’m not logged in.

Just completely atrocious design all around. No part of E6CONNECT works at even a passable level. Complete waste of time and money.

Terrible. Use PC or get something else.

1) If you are using iOS with iPad or iPhone, it will kill your battery. I have a brand new iPad and I can barely play a round with two players on 100% battery. You must need a computer to use this software to make sure you get through a round.
2) iPads don’t allow you to charge your iPad while using E6CONNECT .
3) It will stop registering during a round for no reason. I can connect via the skytrak and use it’s apps but for some reason e6 doesn’t want to work from time to time. Of note, I have great internet speed, this is strictly an app issue.

I like E6CONNECT, but you should be able to put clubhead speed on your main screen. Other golf apps, such as the Garman app you can click on the box and put whatever you want in there. They should take a look at awesome golf and make their screen somewhat similar without copying it verbatim.

I came in with high hopes of a photorealistic experience with better simulation than awesome golf. This half-delivered. The graphics were the best an iPad could do and the picture was just difficult to read. The simulation experience was more "real" than awesome golf (ball bounces, etc.) but it didn't translate to being fun. Both my friend and I agreed, this just kept getting worse hole after hole. It was not engaging.

For being 5x the price of awesome golf, it's an overall worse experience. 2/5.

Purchased in end of 2022. Worked well for a few months until the latest update. Putting has a bug where the spin from your last shot carries over and your putt rolls backward twice as far as you hit it. Low shots into the bottom of the screen crash the game. It's been unplayable for over a month and no fix. $600 a year for no support. Just put the previous version back in E6CONNECT Store!!

Update 6/5/23 latest update yesterday broke putting for SkyTrak again.

I have been trying to use E6 Connect with my Mevo+ on an iPad Pro. I get the same error message, “Device not connected”, as another reviewer got 2 years ago! The E6 developers don’t seem to care about resolving this issue. The advice I got from an E6 “CX Software Specialist” was to (1) turn off ALL other WiFi devices in the home, turn off all other applications running on iPhone and iPad, (2) that E6 Connect uses FlightScope’s connectivity and communication (I.e. it’s not OUR problem); And the best one yet: (3) that Mevo+ devices are subject to static issues so, if you’re using a turf or artificial grass, or have forced air heating, this specialist recommends using a spray bottle of 50% unscented Downy fabric softener and 50% water, every morning before use, lightly spray down all the turf floor. Or you can add a humidifier to the environment, blah, blah, blah.
I am giving up on trugolf and E6 golf, since there has apparently not been much effort in resolving these long standing issues.

I use with my Phigolf on iPhone and cast to an 85” tv. 3 improvements needed:
1) allow a screen resizing to 16:9 tv ratio, so it casts properly from any iOS device.
2) size of icons and fonts are impossibly small, specially on a phone. Need to double the size of every font and icon
3) Phigolf seems to disconnect after 2 minutes of inactivity. You know, sometimes we need a restroom break at the 9th hole.
