Amazing app! Just one request:

FITINDEX is amazing. Other users have noted inconsistencies in their observed data, but the FAQ page in FITINDEX explains why this may occur and also explains how to still understand your overall health despite these occasional discrepancies. FITINDEX does require a brief skim over the FAQ page, but now that I took not quite 10 minutes of my time to do so, I understand and appreciate FITINDEX greatly. However, I do request that this next part be taken into consideration:

I am 14, and in February, I will be 15. Due to this, some data has not been calculated for me, my focus being on my lack of data for visceral fat and muscle related measurements. I understand this is due to the fact that there are not yet any existing reliable algorithms that can be used to calculate these data for any individuals under the age of 18, but I suggest this:

Consider offering to calculate these measurements for teens by using the same algorithm followed for adults. I understand if you need to notify the user that the measurements may be incorrect, but I request that you offer to give the option to receive the calculated measurement anyways. As a teen, I myself would be very appreciative to you if you added this option, so that I could at least know if my measurements for these data overall have changed. Thank you for your consideration.

Terrible device

I got this scale a few days ago, I paired it and everything started up normally. I was able to get my accurate measurements, as well as my husband’s. I used it the next day just to compare and it seemed to be fine. I had it stored safely, it didn’t get wet, and I went to use it this morning, only two days after I received it. The device won’t properly connect no matter what I do, I have my Bluetooth on, I unpaired and repaired it, I reset it, took the batteries out and even deleted the device from my phone and repaired again. It tells me that there’s an anomaly detected, and I can’t do anything to fix it. It’s not recording any of my measurements, regardless of what I do, and it’s giving me a 40 pound difference over two days. That’s a lot more than just a small error. Also yes, I did weigh myself in the same spot, wearing the same things, and I weigh myself in the mornings before I eat so nothing has changed. As nice as it would have been to lose 40 pounds basically overnight, that’s not even remotely close to my true weight. I cannot figure out anything that will fix these issues and I’m really bummed because I quite literally just got it two days ago.

Strangely accurate?

I needed a new scale and thought I’d give this a whirl. First of all, setting up FITINDEX with the scale was laughably easy. Anyone can do this. The data definitely seems accurate for me, at least in the body fat department. I chose the athletic setting because of what other reviewers said about inaccurate BMI settings (I'm not particularly muscular or athletic, but I hike and cycle about 7 hours a week). The scale basically said that my fat-free weight is 122 lbs, which is exactly how I perceived my body when I weighed 122 (that weight stood out to me as being the lowest I should ever weigh). So, I’m impressed with that aspect of accuracy. I’m a little confused about how “metabolic age” is calculated, as mine is a year older than my real age, and my numbers otherwise look pretty good.

I’ll update this review if, after using it for a while, I run into trouble, but I’m looking forward to using this to stay on top of my health.

Easy Set up with App

So it’s my first day, scale arrived, I had set up FITINDEX prior to arrival of the scale, entering basic info, Male, Height, Age, ect..

When scale arrived I placed the batteries in the scale, then placed the scale on a solid floor surface, I had already enabled the Bluetooth capability so I stood on scale, synced it, and Waala, I had my results on my phone, including weight, BMI, Body Fat, Fat-free body weight, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Protein, Skeletal Muscle,Subcutaneous Fat, Bone Mass.. I’ll keep updating my review as I move forward. Excited about the scale and my journey

***Update week 7*** the scale is amazing and so is FITINDEX . I’ve been able to monitor my Visceral Fat (fat found around my organs), Body Mass Index, Water weight, bone mass, subcutaneous fat (fat stored in skin based on body weight), I’m loving the scale.. So far Well Worth the cost, no issues with FITINDEX , and I can see my history from where I started till now.

Love the app! I love the UI of Body Fat%, BMI, Weight, etc

I love FITINDEX, I use it almost daily for measuring my Body Fat and Weight, along with many other features! 👍🙏😊💪

So, to make FITINDEX much, much better, here are some UI / UX features ideas and bugs to be squished that would take FITINDEX to another level: 🐛📈

I love seeing my chart of the “x amount of months”, on the “TRENDS” page but imagine being able to go to the Chart Screen / Page and being able to see the results in “Landscape” mode!? That way the chart becomes full screen and we can scroll / screenshot a certain period that way! That would be an amazing add-on. That would be an amazing UI / UX experience.

I especially also love the Apple Watch app that was just introduced. I just got an Apple Watch and it is very handy to measure it right away. I did notice a few bugs. Sometimes the weight is measured but FITINDEX on the watch still says “Connecting / Measuring”. I wish it said the message saying “Measured” after was measured along with a subtle vibration. Kind of like where in app the circle with dots rotate. That would be amazing. Another thing is that sometimes I get logged out in my phone after using the Apple Watch saying I’ve used the account somewhere else. This is kind of annoying! Please fix those bugs! Otherwise I love it!!!

Thank you!

Short test period but so far impressed.

Startup and pairing as well as my first few inputs of weight have all run smoothly without any hiccups. The data sent immediately to my iPhone app with a cute little beep indicating new scale measurement! (Even when app is not running). Upon user signup it automatically asked to configure with apple health and then immediately to my Fitbit health. Both wireless syncs went on without any issues. My only complaint is I'm unsure about the accuracy. I did 3 measurements over the course of a half an hour and all came out vastly different. I had not removed clothing now eaten or use restroom. Weights came to be 151, 148, and then 142 lbs. I'm only unsure which one to trust and wyybshiuke I trust that one as oppose to the others. I need to know the scale is not going all Willy nilly between measurements

Great Tool!

This scale and app helped me on my journey to better health by allowing me to get some additional insight each week as I weighed in. I follow the Weight Watchers program that requires me to weight in weekly. This scale/app gave me so much more than just my weight which helped me understand the why behind the number on the scale. Some weeks I could see that I gained muscle and that is why my weight “loss” wasn’t what I was going for. In the past I have gotten frustrated when I weighed in and thought that because I didn’t lose weight, I was doing something wrong since all I could see was a number. I highly recommend FITINDEX and scale for anyone who wants to see the whole picture!!

Fun With a Grain of Salt

It’s fun to use the scale and see the biometrics, but please be aware that they’re not accurate. According to the scale my body fat % is around 33. However using calipers it’s more like 23%. And to look at me one can see I’m nowhere near as fat as the scale would indicate.

However it’s widely known that bioimpedence is not the most accurate way to measure body fat. So given that, the body fat readings could be useful directionally in one’s fat loss journey, but should not be taken literally.

Other measurements also don’t seem to be accurate. For example, I have been using the scale for nearly a year in conjunction with a calisthenics program. I have gotten into fairly decent shape and my waistline has dropped significantly. However according to the trends recorded by FITINDEX my muscle mass has dropped. This is obviously not close to correct. One cannot build muscle, as evidenced by performance improvements, yet lose muscle mass.

So it’s fun to use FITINDEX , but I wouldn’t put much stock in the numbers. I think they’re more closely tied to algorithms and calculations than they are to any scientific measurement.

Like the categories it has

I love FITINDEX when I first got it. I love all the categories it measures. In the beginning when I got it July 2018 It was accurate with my weight according to my height. But then FITINDEX changed its normal and obsess settings and it lost a star, maybe more. It was accurate before the changes. I was over weight and outside my range originally and I agree with that. Now it’s telling me I’m normal. I think it needs to accommodate the person’s height because I read another person’s review here and she didn’t like it because she was tall. I liked it because it fittted me. For a short person 130lbs is way over weight, like the previous setting said it is. We should have a choice to keep the old setting or not.

Not entirely accurate

I started using this scale when I was at 149.4 with the goal of gaining weight/muscle. I got up to 153 and fell back to 149.4. I definitely have less body fat since the last time I was at 149.4. Every sing biometric perfectly matched up with the previous from before my muscle gain. I think a lot of the stats are guessed and just calculated from weight and a very rudimentary body fat percentage test.

Edit: the developers tried calling cap on my review. My weight fluctuates greatly mostly water weight though. I went from 147.4 to 151.4 and it said 3.2 of that was muscle mass Gained. It is physically impossible to gain that much muscle in one day. It is a good scale but do not Rely completely on biometrics.

Good feedback, poor customization options

I love the scale. It’s consistent. Easy to use and reliable. FITINDEX is easy to use for the most part. But there is no way to customize your view. BMI is at the top row of the metrics list and it is a terrible measure for fitness. Even according to the numbers provided in FITINDEX I would have to have around 2% body fat to not be considered “overweight”. It’s a useless, antiquated measure that shouldn’t even be used to measure health or fitness ever. So it’s annoying that it’s at the top of my metrics list and I can’t eliminate it or even move its position for that matter. They should eliminate from FITINDEX altogether, but if not then at least let the viewer choose what they see.

Great scale!

I’m editing my review! I posted a negative review a week or so ago because some data points changed drastically. Come to find out I didn’t have the athletic mode turned on. I’m a big guy ~230, but I do exercise 3 or 4 times a week. That including cycling at a minimum of 100 miles a week. I didn’t realize i needed to turn that mode on for it to correctly calculate for my body time. I emailed the developer and they quickly told me that somehow I managed to turn that mode off, and boom the data is good again. Very happy with my purchase of the scale and FITINDEX . I actually bought my best friend a scale as well!

Perfect scale!!!

I had a weight watchers scale before that decided to upgrade and get this scale. After reading these reviews about FITINDEX I’m not sure why people are freaking out but the data in FITINDEX sure seems to be correct. I haven’t had any issues with my scale I just bought it today is ago. And as far as arranges go everything is accurate. If people are having an issue and giving FITINDEX two or three stars they should start evaluating their daily activity. 131lbs 19% body fat 5-1” 29 years BMI 24... that’s accurate to all the information I had before this scale...

App Works, Scale Works, but Data Analysis is Bad

I had this scale and I weigh myself every so often but now that I’m actively trying to lose the Covid-19 lbs I weigh myself every day. Here are my complaints about FITINDEX :

I hadn’t weighed myself for a couple months and I gained 8 lbs. I was prompted with *are you sure this is you? this seems like too much weight gain* or something along those lines. Yikes 😬

My biggest complaint about FITINDEX is that the time scale isn’t real. It just puts every day that you weighed yourself on a new line, so you can’t see real accurate trends. I go to Apple Health to look at this data instead because the data analysis here is deceiving.

Finally, this app claims to know all of these different categories like skeletal muscle and water % and fat % etc, when all they have is height and weight. These conclusions are wildly estimated and it bothers me that they release it as “data”.

The hardware/software sync is great, but they need to fix their data analysis.

Where is the Comparison for circumference?????

FITINDEX is easy to use, although not very intuitive at times. It seems like the ideal weight is off quite a bit for women.
Since last month, the Comparison button in Circumference trends disappeared! It was there in early September and is now not showing on the Circumference trends screen. You can select dates but it only shows one! No updates have been released publicly so where did it go? Hard to show progress if you can only see one day!! Other than this glitch FITINDEX is pretty good.

Amazing

I’ve just bought a scale that FITINDEX goes with a few days ago. So far I’ve loved both. The apps information is presented in an easy to read manner and I like the way colors are used on the numbers to let you quickly know what you need to improve. I’m not sure how accurate these readings are but if you weigh yourself around the same time each day I’ve found that to be the best. I love FITINDEX and scale a lot and theyre helping me stay motivated on my weight loss journey.

Great Scale

I have used this scale for over a year and I love it! I refer it to all of my friends. It really motivated me to get fit but helped me focus more important numbers like body fat and visceral fat instead of weight alone. When you look at the graph you can tell when I got home to see my folks bc the spikes are up there ☺️ I kind of use it as a guide to tell if my diet is working for me or not since I switch it up all the time. They added measurements so I will have to play around with that!

Nice, but there's a huge flaw

FITINDEX and scale work fine. It's very convenient and informative. We have no issues having multiple users. My biggest beef is with the recommended weight range. I don't know what it's based off of, but it's not individualized AT ALL! My Fat-Free Body Weight is 116 lbs yet my Standard Weight Range is 103 lbs - 126 lbs. Am I really expected to have 8% body fat or less? As a female? The standard body fat percentage for a female is 20%-25%. That would put me at 145 lbs - 155 lbs, and that's if I maintain my current muscle mass. PLEASE FIX THIS FEATURE!!! It's an easy formula: fat-free body weight / (1 - body fat percentage) and you'd use different BFP for different percentage ranges.

Calendar viewing

When I click on either “weight”, “body fat”, or “BMI”, it takes me to the calendar.

However, it takes me to the day I use FITINDEX /scale for the very first time, and not to the current month and day, so it’ll take me to the month of July 21 and I have to use the arrows to find the current month and day, which is a huge pain.

Can you fix this so when I click on either “weight”, “body fat”, or “BMI”, it takes me to the calendar and on the current month and day?

Can’t read the data

I like FITINDEX & the info it provides but I CAN’T READ IT! I can normally read everything on my phone easily but the font on FITINDEX is small without a way to increase it. Also the the muted grey color of the letters & muted lime green of the numbers are also difficult on the eyes. (I have no problem reading the white on red).

It is very frustrating & not user friendly for those of us who are Visually Impaired.

May I suggest if the font size can not be enlarged perhaps a bolder black & stronger green to provide more contrast to make it readable.

Need to fix “weight” and “goal weight” calculations ASAP

FITINDEX was easy enough to set up with my scale as per the written directions that came with it, but as a tall woman, the “ideal weight” scale is downright insulting. All of the other metrics seem to be calculated fairly accurately from what I know, but my even my “goal weight” would fall inside the “high” weight. Currently it says I’m severely obese even though my BMI is in the normal range (even if it’s not where I want it to be). This is a pretty simple calculation, so it’s a reasonable expectation that this be fixed so that the weight category and goal weight indicators are actually useful in any way if you’re not the “average” height for your gender, which is what I’m assuming this is based off of right now.

Other than that, FITINDEX syncs up with the Apple health app instantly and therefore my Apple Watch apps as well, so I’m happy. I just can’t imagine releasing a version of an app where the first thing you see when you log your weight is an error. It’s a huge huge oversight.

Won’t complete registration

I purchased the scale that this works with but I continue getting an error that says the server is unavailable when trying to register an account.

Update...I received prompt response from support and was able to resolve the error by turning wifi off and using cellular data only to sign up. Once I was able to sign in I was able to turn wifi on with no problems and it has been working perfectly since then.

Great app, but friends feature is broken

FITINDEX functionality is great, syncs with the scale without a hitch and been using it for several months now. I’ve recommended the scale to a few friends so now three of us have it, but the “add friends” feature on FITINDEX doesn’t seem to work at all, which was a disappointment (friends never received any email to link after requesting, couldn’t figure out what else to do). Still good for personal data, but the social features seem to not work.

By

Decent app, needs some additions

Good app to get you started. There’s a lot of information that’s overwhelming at first, but once you get used to weighing yourself daily and at the same time, you can learn a lot about your body.

I’d give five stars if it kept track of all the measurements it took (muscle mass, visceral fat, protein, etc). It only tracks 5 categories (that if you’re not trying to lose weight, aren’t very useful). If those things are important to you, make sure to write them down.

By

Really like it (minus one thing)

Really like the information gleaned from the scale and app. I don't hold it 100% gospel but it is motivating to see changes in things beyond weight. One major thing that could be improved is on the trends tab, the spacing for the category icons and the label should be adjusted. Currently on an 11 pro, I can see the full icon and the tip tops of the letters in the name for that category. Correct that and offer a night mode and this is 5 star for me.

By

Great Scale companion!

I was looking to auto record scale measurements and FITINDEX sold me! It makes tracking a breeze. It could use some improvements: 1) if you started before you got this, you can manually enter weight/body fat%, but the date will be wrong. You can’t compare to current date. They should let you enter that at set up. 2) for weight the cutoff for excessive is BMI 23.0. In western cultures cutoffs is usually 25.0. I wish you could customize that.
