Glad I got this for myself to try first. I thought I was a really good speller. Scholar is great for testing difficult and frequently misspelled words. HOWEVER, after about level 4, the ads started and they’re obnoxious enough. I will be deleting Scholar immediately upon leaving this feedback. The last ad I saw was of an apparently naked woman behind a towel in a bathroom with a man in the shower. I had to decide if I was going to wait or join him. I clicked the X to leave it. Another ad popped up with a man holding a woman against a wall by her wrists. The choice was: 1)Do you want your first kiss or 2) Much more. DELETE
My words are not in my vocabulary list so I don’t like that app and by the way I deleted this app because I think there are giantic words that are on Scholar like embarrass (which I made 8 mistakes in),and occurrence. Because of Scholar I hate it so much that I don’t even know how to spell these words correct which isn’t even fair. It’s just so annoying and I can’t understand a lot of words this app has. It’s has been terrible when I had the opportunity to handle Scholar so that is why I deleted Scholar. Scholar is not fun because this app has 600 words but Word Club has 4000 words. In my calculations Word Club has 3400 more words than this app so sorry Artem Rakhmatulin but I don’t like your app. Please make your words more easier so that I never give you 1 star again. So make sure you make your words easier so that I can give your app 5 stars. Except one word. I’m making it 2 stars now. Never mind.
Scholar works ok, but it’s not 5 star great. It works well for one type of learner: those who are really great at memorizing visually. For others, it’s not going to be incredibly beneficial. There is only one method of learning on Scholar and it doesn’t offer other methods. I would honestly prefer choices in how I’m quizzed. For me personally, I do best when I have to spell out a word and remember it on my own. I need an app to learn, not to feel validated because I can guess with hints. This only perpetuates our broken education system that teaches to a test and not to learn 🙄
I like this and am learning from it, but I do see what others have said about it appealing only to one style of learning. Sometimes it confuses me to see all the different spellings and choose the right one. I wish there was an audible option where I could hear the word and then type the spelling I think it is. That would just be one alternate learning style. This still works ok for me though. I just fear I’ll memorize for the moment and forget again later so may have to come back to early lessons again and again to really sound everything in because I tend to memorize quickly but then forget in the long term.
Scholar is great and it helps me develop my vocabulary and spelling. It gives frequently misspelled words and it comes in handy. The only problem is I don’t like how they require you to correct your mistakes before moving on. Sometimes I miss click. Plus if you only have one mistake to correct, they give it to you in a row which defeats the purpose.
Ok, I know this is a great app but it is very raging. If you like rage games, then yes you will LOVE Scholar. But, if you are trying to improve your spelling, get Scholar, I recommend it. Me, just trying to improve my spelling don’t want to rage lol. I end up deleting apps a lot of times just because of rage. Sorry it got off topic. Ok, onto cons. I love that it has different levels of words so you know it will get harder each level. I also love that it gives multiple choice options so you get to 50-50. That gets you really thinking. Scholar also repeats the test so you/whoever downloads Scholar will actually remember how to spell things. Anyway, whoever downloads Scholar, I hope you have or had a great day. Also, I hope a developer sees this! 😜😜😜😜😜
I really love Scholar. I also read some of the other reviews. The ads are not the dev’s fault. Repetition is good, it helps a lot to memorize the misspelled words. Without it, we could still just misspell the same word after a while of not seeing it. I also like how you can go to the repetition section and just repeat the previous misspelled words. I used Scholar last year to train my brain for a spelling bee at a college and there were many words that were similar or had the words that were there.
Text mainly for the dev: I would especially like for you to add a few things. Maybe try having the pronunciation after we get a word right/wrong and then have a button to skip it for people that know the word or those who want to memorize it. And a definition will be great, too! This my take some work and time, but this will be very beneficial. Thank you!
I am dyslexic and chronicle use autocorrect, so although I find this challenging I absolutely love it. I love that you can have Scholar read a word out loud for you, because most of the time I know the word just not how to read or spell it...
I encourage everyone to play Scholar to completion no matter your skill level!
Scholar kicks me out no matter what level I reach. This last time I reached level 25 & it kicked me out & back to level 15 as always. What’s up? Otherwise, I love the concept of Scholar.
it's corrected but I've waited quite awhile now for additional levels. I'm as high as I can go. How long until you have additional levels?
I had a class spelling bee and I was freaking out. I downloaded Scholar and I got in first place the next day. Scholar is free and is a big help. There is a set of levels and if you mastered the set it takes you to new levels. You can also review you spelling mistakes and fix them. I think there is nothing wrong with Scholar. 10/10!
I’ve always been a terrible speller. Even with a homeschool education my dyslexia got the better of me. With Scholar I have the ability to be proactive about improving my spelling. It’s perfect and when I say perfect I really mean it. Highlighting the problematic letters it fine tunes my spelling. when I mess up, and I mess up all the time, it forces me to redo the hardest words over and over. Repetition is the path to mastery.
I LOVE Scholar! At first I didn’t think I would be that fun, but it really is. I’m learning how to spell and I’ve found I can spell words, even the ones I haven’t practiced, easier than before. I also like the repetition feature because it’s super easy to remember how to spell words, like disappear with one s and two p’s, instead of two s’s and two p’s. If you want spelling to be easier, and have fun doing it, than Scholar is perfect.
Scholar really improved my spelling. I’m in 10th grade and I’m almost always busy. For someone who is always on the go it perfect for when you are in a car or walking home.
Scholar focuses on the common words that are misspelled and it highlights the important part. I really like how it won’t let you move on to the next level until you correct the ones you missed.
So what this game does teaches the words when you get them wrong it puts them in Europe petitions center I meant repetition center then you can go in the repetition center and when all like if you had three words to repeat Wednesday you’re done with all of them if you go on the real thing and I’ll have different words counting the words that you practice and if you get one wrong then you just go back to the repetition center but when you get all of them right then you move onto the next level but in order to get to the next Level you need to have at least have three stars 321 stars to move on to the next level I love this game you teaching me a lot and so I hope that’s the same for you if you get this game please get this game and give it a great rating because I love this game it’s just Soo awesome thank you for listening to my review Sia👹🥺😹😻😱😖
You should have upgraded Scholar by now. Scholar is a lot of fun, and a great way to practice improving your skills. I like to see more words added. I like to be able to incorporate my own words as well. Another feature to add would be one where you could adjust the speed to go a little faster or slower while in practice mode. Hurry up and make those upgrades.😊
This is a really good app but I think it is better geared towards reading and learning definitions. I have dyslexia, one of the problems I come across is that I can read rather well but not write. If I see the word I will be able to read it but if I don’t have the word in front of me I will not be able to spell it. So I don’t think I will be able to improve my spelling this way. It’s not really my place but maybe you could add a feature where an audio recording of the word is played and then the user has to type the word out.
A very simple, yet effective app! I think the repetitions are absolutely necessary. They help you REMEMBER how to spell the word, it literally Imbeds the word in your memory so you don’t forget. Another benefit is that when you have to spell a similar word, you recognize patterns from previous ones! It is exactly what I need!
Although I often see simplicity as a good thing, it can get boring sometimes. Maybe you can add different modes so the game doesn’t get too repetitive?
For example, maybe you can add a hard mode where there is a sound effect of someone saying the word, and you have to spell it?
Okay, maybe that’s a bit out there, but you get the idea.
Thank you for reading this! I hope you have a wonderful day. 📚
I use it all the time and I know how to spell so much words, this is literally the best spelling app ever. I recommend Scholar a lot you should definitely get! If I could give Scholar 100 stars ⭐️ I totally would. I had Scholar for so long never deleted it never will delete it. You should make a this app two. And I like how it tells you that you have to practice the words you got wrong. It also starts off from hard to easy with the words! Right now I’m on level 15 and the words are getting a little harder. I recommend Scholar a lot. If you want a spelling game this is definitely the one. There is nothing wrong with Scholar I don’t see what you can point out that bad. Thank you for making Scholar I use it all the time! You should definitely get it!
This was Scholar I’ve been looking for and finally found! I needed something to test me on random words, not just a list I’ve made myself. this app helps when you are studying for a bee and need some extra words to practice other than the given list. It has different levels, and my favorite thing about Scholar is that once you click a wrong misspelling of a word, that word is now in the repetition section, and it gives you all of the words you missed, and basically retests you. All of your past misspelled word also show up in the dictionary area, for future reference on what you need to study more. I would recommend Scholar to anyone who is studying specifically for a spelling bee, or even just someone who wants to improve spelling capabilities!
No one is perfect at spelling i like Scholar but it irritates me because I have to do a repetition over and over I hate it please fix this and also if the person looks at the dictionary thing you can how to spell it that’s how some people cheat at this game please answer me back and please fix these problems or tell the creator to fix it please 🙏📖✌️
