It has potential

Right now, it’s ok. I think it’s a great app for getting an estimate on how much money you could receive. I also like how you can get money just for your grades and required community service. Although, it does need a lot of work. I followed about 20 colleges that I have an interest in and none of them appeared on RaiseMe . They really need to get a lot more colleges on here. I can understand not having Stanford or Harvard, but come on, it’s missing state schools. Also I wish there was an option to add a class in and not have it count towards your gpa. At my school there are college prep classes, honors classes, AP classes, and then ones that are unleveled(don’t count towards gpa). The options on RaiseMe are regular, honors, and AP. They really need to add an unleveled option. And finally, RaiseMe only shows your unweighted gpa, and not your weighted gpa. I would really like to see both on there, because it kept saying my gpa was too low to get a scholarship from northeastern, when my gpa was much higher than required. Overall I love RaiseMe but it needs some more work. :)

I basically have a full ride to a college and I'm only a sophomore

Wow this is really amazing and takes a lot of stress from my shoulders. I have always had good grades and it really motivates me to see actual results from them on RaiseMe. I basically followed every college that was giving out micro scholarships and there is one that is willing to give me $80,000 to go to their school, which would cover almost all of my years at their college leaving me only around 6k to pay per year. However since I’m going to be a junior next year and have two more years of high school left I’m very sure I can get enough money to get a full ride. RaiseMe is a dream come true! I hope you can get more partners though as I would love to have as many choices as possible but understand that it would be difficult.

Ehhh... Has potential

In the beginning, I was extremely excited to use RaiseMe. The interface is smooth and instructions are very clear. But my excitement started to wear off after running into the GPA issue and after reading other reviews i can see people are having similar issues. My unweighted GPA on RaiseMe is way lower than what it says on my official transcript. And though I know the GPAs are calculated off of “core courses”, that factor is creating a useless purpose of RaiseMe for a lot of users. Because the GPAs are so low, people can’t use RaiseMe correctly or be provided with accurate scholarships. I also had an issue with the credits. My school provides 5 credits for A-G requirements and 2.5 credits for electives and I also felt like the lack of credit representation had an effect on my GPA. I really do like RaiseMe but I just find no purpose of using it if I’m not receiving accurate opportunities that could help my future.

Scholarships!! 😀❤️

RaiseMe is amazing! I am the kind of person who has been searching for scholarships since I was in 5th grade (which are very hard to find btw), and now as a Freshman most of the scholarships are targeted towards juniors and seniors. RaiseMe allows you to look for colleges that are connected with this app, and get information about applications and deadlines. All you have to do is type in your grades, awards, volunteer service, and work experience and you can receive scholarships from it. The day I signed up I raised about $2,000 for a college I'd like to go to. The other thing to remember with RaiseMe however, is that the scholarship money you raise will only be saved until you apply, are admitted, and enroll in the college. I 110% support RaiseMe and recommend it!!!

It’s Amazingly Helpful.... when it works.

When I saw RaiseMe, I was immediately excited. As a freshman in many honors classes, I knew I was able to get scholarships. Along with my extracurricular activities. My only problem is that I have a high GPA. I have gotten honor roll every quarter so far. However, when I enter my grades into RaiseMe, my GPA is a whole point lower than what it’s supposed to be. Right now, my GPA last quarter was 4.2, when it says that it’s at a 3.3. I am not liable to scholarships, according to this when I know I am because my official score it way higher. Yes this may be a problem that is easily fixed, and I understand that. I will still use RaiseMe because it is quite possibly this best thing I have done for college considering money. My family does not have experience with college and it’s important to me that I go so I live my dream. This is absolutely amazing and I am extremely happy with what I have. Thank you so much for RaiseMe!

Great App

I love RaiseMe but I took a star off for one reason - unweighted GPA and restricted scholarships.

My GPA is weighted so it’s frustrating that, for some colleges, I can’t see what type of scholarships they’d offer me because my “GPA isn’t high enough” when it is high enough. this app should show the scholarships for certain colleges even if your GPA “isn’t high enough” according to RaiseMe . Maybe put a clear note on the side that one’s GPA needs to be higher for all scholarships shown to apply - but at least still show the money students could be saving if they meet the minimum GPA. This, or maybe incorporate weighted GPA into RaiseMe /allow students to add their own GPA rather than it being determined by RaiseMe (that way they can also see scholarships that would/wouldn’t be offered if they have a certain GPA?)

Other than that, I still think RaiseMe is pretty great. Just some constructive criticism above!

So much potentialll!!

I came across RaiseMe today and it’s absolutely great the interface is simple and it is great to keep track of what courses you are taking and how that reflects to college admissions. I came across an issue on my end, I have can’t add non core classes to my gpa. Is this because non core classes are not part of the unweighted GPA? However this is the best college resource I’ve come across! It rivals college board however doesn’t have the amount of specific filters like college board has. However, over time I see RaiseMe to improve and hopefully by the time I get to college there will be much much more colleges available. Add Hawai’i schools! Great App! 5 stars because I see much potential!!

Love this!!

Great app!! Thank you for making this a reality because paying for college will be a real struggle for me and my family financially but this program has really lifted some weight off of our shoulders! So far I have received almost $33,000 (around $8,000 per year) for the school that I will be attending. RaiseMe not only provides scholarship opportunities but includes extensive information on many schools, whether they participate or not. However I did have a few questions. Am I guaranteed to receive the money I have racked up? Is it just an estimate of how much money I will receive in financial aid or grants? Will this money be included on top of already existing financial aid and grants?

Great! There’s always room for improvement

I never write reviews, however, I have found RaiseMe to be unbelievably helpful in my pursuit of high education. Being able to a value on my high school achievements has helped to give me an idea of what colleges are looking for and what else I should be doing. RaiseMe is incredible. I say that but not with out room for improvement. I noticed that RaiseMe does lack a place to put midterm test scores in. My high school puts a high value on these tests as they average into our semester grades. RaiseMe does have a place for finals but midterms affect my GPA just as much.

Keep up the great work!

Lots of room for improvement

I just downloaded RaiseMe and was supieses by how easy and quick it was to set up. The only downfall is that all the of the universities I am interested in either do not offer micro-scholarships or are “only available to select students”. Temple university is the only school I have on my pre-written list a part of this program. I wish there was a way to see what was making you ineligible for the program so that you could make those improvements or know to remove the school from your list. Furthermore, RaiseMe suggests schools that are “ only available to select students” which made it difficult to find schools that I am eligible. I hope these changes can be made in the future.

Missing many colleges

RaiseMe is useful for getting an idea of the money you could earn from base scholarships, but is missing a lot of schools. They don’t have a bunch of state universities or even the well-known ivy leagues. Private colleges are understandable to be missing, as they are quite niche, but the lack of schools is a bit concerning, and makes RaiseMe lose a lot of its uses.
On the issue of weighted vs unweighted gpa, I’m not having the problems other people were mentioning (I have 4.444 weighted, 3.95 unweighted), so it’s possible they’ve either fixed the issue, or people’s gpa is legitimately too low.
Overall, it’s a good app, they just need to add more universities

SO COOL

Ok so I’m a rising sophomore who was and still kind of is very confused about the college... everything, but RaiseMe is really great and helps you out with discovering colleges SO MUCH. I highly recommend it to everyone seeking college.

I do have one question for the creators though. At my school, we get a certain amount of credits for every semester, not every year. So for example, I get one cred after a semester of Literature. That means 2 by the time the year is done. However I can’t seem to change that in the settings. Is there something I’m missing or is it just not there?

Awesome, but does not account for AICE or HS courses taken in MS

Great way to track your college resume and view potential scholarships! However, RaiseMe does not account for high school credits taken in middle school or for AICE courses (Cambridge University’s international college course program, as rigorous as AP). This hinders access to potential scholarships as well as to showing your true GPA since not all of your courses will be counted for if you did either of the above types of courses. Still, RaiseMe functions well and is amazing for viewing information about almost any college and university in the United States. Highly recommend!

It actually works !!

I had used RaiseMe during the beginning of my college application process and didn’t think much of it. I ended up getting into my dream school NYU and in my financial aid package there was a scholarship called this app. I had completely forgot about it but it was 18K over the course of four years just from RaiseMe and it would have been more if I didn’t think it was a fluke.

Super easy to use but not as many schools use it as you might think (from my experience anyway) but still great resource for college kiddos!

Could Be Improved...

I think it would be highly beneficial for those who are wavering on their majors/colleges to create a way to favorite certain colleges, bringing them to the top of your list. Also more micro scholarships in bigger schools (I know you can’t control this, but is is a downfall.) Lasty some way to find colleges based on majors you’re interested in. Like let us pick up to five majors (since we all don’t have it narrowed down to three yet,) and then when searching for colleges have the best rated in each major you chose. Maybe even a filter for distance or cost or possible savings would be extremely helpful. Overall great app though :)

AMAZING FOR COLLEGE !

I never knew apps like this existed until I saw an ad one day and tried it. RaiseMe helps to raise college funds for different colleges by using micro-scholarships. The micro-scholarships vary from grades to clubs to community service, it can all be used to raise money for college! I think this is amazing because I’m only a sophomore, but I know college is expensive and I want to prepare. You not only need to be a sophomore and up, you can also be a freshman. I only wish that more colleges would set up this app accounts. But many colleges do have accounts! I 100% recommend!!

Very helpful app with great features

I just downloaded RaiseMe today, and I can confirm it is deserving of the publicity. Not only does it help you find colleges that will help achieve your goals, it also filters them based on chances to get in. I really like all the sorting and customization in RaiseMe . The fact it is free is so amazing! I do have a few suggestions though for RaiseMe that I will talk about below.

1. Show which colleges require test scores-
I know this may be hard due to the constant nature of change with these policies but I think it would be a cool feature.

2. Share the cost of the college with in state tuition compared to out of state tuition-
This would be a very helpful feature for people looking and close and far colleges.

3.Show famous graduates from the schools-
I think this would be a really cool feature but it is not a very significant one.

Very thankful and impressed with RaiseMe!

This app is a life saver

I literally recommend RaiseMe to everyone. It’s an amazing way to learn about colleges and get your information to them. Even if it didn’t offer scholarships, I would still use it. An awesome way to keep track of all your classes and how well you did in them, and all your accomplishments, extracurriculars, community service, etc. The school I’m going to wasn’t in their database yet, so I just submitted the name of the school and it was up within 24 hours. They offer so many resources.

Helped Me

Amazing app. Wasn’t sure if I’d even earn scholarship money through RaiseMe/program but I was (happily) proven wrong. Today I received a scholarship from one of the colleges I was accepted to, saying I had raised a lot of money from this app and I was incredibly amazed!

Other than the scholarship part, this app has a lot of information on colleges that I haven’t seen from other websites and it’s really informing. The only improvement is I wish there were more colleges participating in these micro-scholarships! Overall, I’m incredibly happy that I found RaiseMe! Thank you so much!

So helpful!!

RaiseMe is one of the greatest things I have ever downloaded on my phone. I’m a sophomore in high school and RaiseMe allows me to be able to have everything in one place and it shows me where I stand with the colleges I want. I pushed me to work harder to get scholarships to the schools I want to go to and it motivates me to do better. I recommend this to EVERY high schooler because RaiseMe is going to be your best friend. I love it so so so so much and hopefully I’ll be able to get where I want to with these scholarships.

Potential

Personally, I think RaiseMe is an amazing idea. It holds a lot of good options for scholarships. I highly recommend if you’re planning on going to a small liberal arts college since most of them take micro scholarships like RaiseMe(religious affiliation or not). The reason why I gave RaiseMe 2 stars is due to how RaiseMe accumulates GPA. Every time I put in classes I loose money even if it’s a college level or AP and I have all A’s. RaiseMe claims I only have unweighted of a 2.85 when I actually have an unweighted of 3.5+ at the high school I attend. I would really like this problem to be fixed but I think it would be too difficult to structure it properly. I don’t think I’m getting good use out of RaiseMe but it’s worth a try.

Wish more colleges were involved

2 things:

I’ve seen a lot of reviews and developer responses about this already, so I’ll just note that most of the more prestigious or elite colleges haven’t started participating as a warning to future people who start using this app who might be more ambitious like I am. Other than that, this is a pretty user friendly app; I very recently started using it and have had only minor problems thus far.

One problem I have encountered that is also minor but more annoying than the rest is the lack of customizable filters. I don’t want to comb through over a thousand colleges when my search could’ve been narrowed down by something like a button in a settings page that says “Set minimum average salary:_____” I understand it may be more difficult than I realize, but I still wish we could customize the filters by salary, debt, or popular majors even just a little.

Other than that, it is great and you should use it.

Amazing!

this app is very easy to understand and use for first and long time users. Whenever you enter and submit your: courses, extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, work experience, test scores, etc., real colleges that you follow can see all the cool stuff the you have done and send you actual scholarships! I have been using in for nearly two years and it still is very efficient, effective, and easy as ever.

Great But Needs More

While RaiseMe is a phenomenal thing for students and has plenty of things to enter from FBLA to top of class to NHS to certain awards and community service and being able to follows colleges, RaiseMe doesn’t taken into account many popular activities students are involved in. Several different honor societies that are prevalent in the US from Social Studies to foreign language to Math to Business, a vast amount of sports that are popular, clubs such as Gay-Straight Alliance, Diversity Club, language clubs, academic clubs, drama and musicals or anything theatre related, etc.
RaiseMe is great, but I’d like to see many more options available.
